alhamdulillah
in the name of Allah the compassion of
the merciful all praise is due to Allah
the lord of the
worlds and May the peace and blessings
of Allah be upon his Prophet Muhammad
his family his companions and his
followers all on the until the day of
judgment I welcome you to this new
lesson um in the series of tap at zad
Academy now we already talked about many
things as an introduction to the subject
of T and the science
of the principles
of and now and today we are going to
address the
methodologies
of
and after going through all the various
methodologies we can divide them into
two main
methodologies the first one
is which is to make based on reports
from the
Prophet The Companions and
the the and the so we have we have this
as one main methodology the other main
methodology
is which is based on opinion the opinion
of the MU the person who is
interpreting uh the Glorious
Quran now under this category under each
one of these two categories there are
also um two main points and let me let
me start
with we already talked about this in an
earlier lesson but this is like an
affirmation and it's very very important
to know that because based on this you
know exactly where to go what to uh head
for and what to expect when you uh read
a particular book in
t what is its methodology and normally
normally these are being served today
they are being served by uh commentators
by reviewers by uh editors who actually
check the text they tell you about the T
they tell you about the author of that
particular book and and his own
methodology and the way he conducted uh
himself regarding uh the T of the uh
glorious Quran so that is that is how
how this is being done and and make sure
that when you read a book in you need to
read a book that is uh um reviewed and
and made commentary on don't take it as
as a raw material um alhamdulillah the
many of the students of knowledge have
already served that some of them are
great Scholars and we already talked
about that uh in in the previous uh
lesson but also in early
uh lessons we talked about this and we
emphasize this time after time let me
tell you
about what what does it mean when we say
by by the reports which is the MU would
basically uh talk about the Ayah and all
of the reports that have been um uh
reported about uh the sayings of the
Prophet
Alat or the sah or Companions and the
some of them would include
also and they would include in this in
their books
uh this these reports without any uh
additions except sometimes they talk
about linguistic meanings so they add to
clarify or to try to uh
somehow uh uh discuss the issues and and
the differences between various sayings
and reports um or some of the AAR or
what has been said by a certain uh
companion or a
certain regarding the meaning of this
particular Ayah they they would try to
stay away from uh uh driving their own
con conclusions or trying to put their
own opinion as much as possible so that
is how this methodology works and it is
four types um and we already talked
about that when we talked about the
development of uh the science of
T but in general they are first the Tere
of the Glorious Quran by Quran Itself by
the Quran itself and we can find we we
already talked about examples of that
where an Ayah would come um a word in a
particular Ayah and then the Ayah or ay
after that would explain what that meant
and we already cited uh uh for example
even if we talk about Al we
say
so we talked about uh when we translate
that um it comes like this guide us to
the straight path what is the straight
path the path of Those whom you have
bestowed your favor
upon not those that you have put your
wrath
upon
and those who have been misguided so
that is how the explanation it came into
the
following that's one example the other
example also in if you come into the
into
that these are individual letters that
are put in the beginnings of some suras
to show that the Quran is made from
these letters it's a challenge but the
ultimate meaning of these um letters is
up to Allah subhah wa tala there've been
many sayings by mu regarding the meaning
of um uh how this is
starting
uh and so on all the all these uh
letters uh that are uh separated and and
and and said
individually uh there are many sayings
in this regard but we'll we'll come to
that or you'll know it inshallah by uh
going back to the books of
now in this uh Surah Bak Allah
says guidance
for those who are p
or have fear of Allah who are
they so in three ayas Allah is
explaining the meaning
of so that is how the Quran is being
interpreted by the Quran itself
mashallah and that is one of the great
uh uh ways to do that the second one is
the interpretation or t of the Glorious
Quran by the Sunnah by the prophet
sallallahu alaihi wasallam either um he
would give the meaning to the companions
or he would be asked a question
regarding a particular Ayah what does
that mean and uh and so on and so forth
so this this would happen and we have
many examples of that where uh for
example that man who understood the Ayah
one of the
companions who understood the Ayah in
regarding uh the start of
fasting so eat
um and drink until
it is clear for you to see and to
distinguish between uh uh the uh white
thread from the black
thread and uh he he understood this to
be real threads um and he was putting
two threads here and just waiting until
he would see in darkness when the sun
when when the Sun rises and the and the
and the dawn uh is up so he would be
able to distinguish between these two
threats that that is not the meaning it
means the white thread of dawn from the
uh black thread of the night from
Darkness that's how it is understood and
the prophet sallam explained he said
it's not it's not that it is the meaning
is like this so we find examples many
example in this regard by the Sunnah the
third thing is
the um did interpret the Glorious Quran
based on either answers from the prophet
Alat or out of their own based on their
own understanding some of them
like who is
the he is the scholar of the Glorious
Quran and and and the um he's he was the
most knowledgeable among the sahabah of
the Glorious Quran
andd also was um a great scholar of the
of the understanding and of the Glorious
Quran and they uh they would give us
meanings and uh sometimes even the
sahabah would not understand but they
understand the complete meaning not
necessarily the specific meaning
like one time he was reading
that is
in and he said well fruits and what
is he could not understand that and he
said why should I ask it means something
that is uh to posture something to eat
and to to enjoy and
actually is like fruits for for the the
humans and Aban is is is like for uh
food for for Animals well that's that's
how how things uh came uh into the
sayings of
the and then finally uh the of
like and and and others who actually
were alassan and and and and others who
were also Scholars and They Carried the
knowledge from
the and they they actually carried these
reports and they were writing and
delivering this in their own uh lessons
uh and their on sessions in the masjids
or with uh groups of uh of their
colleagues or with uh the general public
so this these are these are the four uh
uh types
of based on reports now what are some of
the main uh books in this we already
talked about and some of the main are
like
by who was one of the first ones to uh
to write about this and he basically uh
only only reported what was reported by
The Prophet by the by the in his book
and then we
have
by
and by
Im so we have these kinds of of uh of
books and there are some others but at
least these are examples for you to see
and that is what is found your own
curriculum in this regard well this
brings us to uh the the end of today's
lesson hoping to see you inshallah in
the coming lesson and uh I ask Allah the
almighty subhana wa tala to help us
acquire knowledge that is beneficial for
us in this life as well as in the
hereafter
