Kind: captions Language: en hey there Dr will Lee I am back at my market in the fresh produce section and I wanted to show you something I found that I think you should know about and uh you know what we all know about uh lettuce okay that's um tasty not that interesting but I want to show you some interesting vegetables I'll tell you something interesting about this check this one out okay this this is ridiculous and it's particularly called something called Radicchio tardivo these are kind of um a kind of chicory with these bent octopus like bronze look at that um I'll pick another one out sometimes they're a little bit bigger and um look at this beautiful these actually have been studied uh Radicchio actually entertained uh the bioactive person quercetin actually helps improve your metabolism by stimulating the uh thermogenesis which is your brown fat actually turning on a burning down fuel excess fuel in your body and actually decreases the formation of harmful body fat inside I read about this in my new book Eat to beat your diet everybody was interested it's available to order on Amazon right now I'm super excited about it but I just want to show you I actually take people on a tour through the grocery store this is ridiculous all right so check it out you see it try it um how do you do it actually here's what I do um I'll tell you you cut this bottom part off right here and then uh but don't cut don't don't separate the leaves cut the bottom off and then you can slice this baby right in half with a little bit of olive oil on the cut side a little bit of black pepper fresh black pepper a little salt and then just roast in the oven like at 350 for maybe 10 minutes you'll get this nice caramelization it's a great fresh way I might actually do that myself for dinner tonight here's another one a little more common yes is baby bok choy baby bok choy actually it's actually not really a baby a big bok choy is about to pick one out of the farm and it's about 70 days old baby back to about 30. so this is kind of more of a Teenage bok choy um similar want to cook with it um you just chop off that bottom right down here okay um here you can peel the leaves apart I cut them uh saute with a little bit of garlic olive oil I could add a little soy sauce if you want oyster sauce makes it really really tasty uh delicious dish vegetable dish um here the thing that I want you to know is that this contains sulforaphane sulforaphanes actually also light up your metabolism by fighting harmful body fat and what also sulforaphanes let's take a look here I see something that has software fans classically and that is this bad boy broccoli which of course has a sulfurous taste think about that baby bok choy and broccoli they all have the good same good stuff um all right uh I just wanted to share with you what I'm seeing in the market there's so many things we could talk about I wanted to share with you the Radicchio Travis the pardibo and also the baby bok choy if you're interested in this kind of stuff I'm actually doing so much on metabolism now sign up for my metabolism master class uh the link is in my bio uh if you're really interested in getting a um amazing amount of information buy my new book um uh called eat to beat your diet it's a trick title because it's not a diet book it's an anti-diet book how do you beat your diet and light up your metabolism and fight harmful body fat so that's actually fighting fat for the right reasons not the wrong reasons for your health not Fisher vanity I do it every day by making great choices and I love my food so um you want to love your food to love your health Dr will Lee out check the link in my bio that's it
