alhamdulillah the rights to be observed
in our life so many different rights
that Allah subhana tala commanded us to
observe in the Quran and in the Sunnah
of the
Prophet one of these rights is the
rights of our children the rights of our
offsprings the rights of the children
over their parents so the parents they
have to do something as part of the
rights of the children after talking
about the rights of the
parents these rights meaning that Allah
subhana T will ask us about it in the
day of judgment when it comes to the
word h rights that means we we will be
asked about it in the day of judgment so
that means Allah subhana tala will ask
the parents about their children in the
day of
judgment and therefore when it comes to
these rides it needs to be observed as
Allah subhana when he
said that when Allah subh commanded the
person to be kind to the parents you
know he said
subh we will believe Shield yourself and
your
family a a blazing fire that it's fuel
men and Stones so that means we are
going to be questioned about our par our
offsprings our children so Allah subhana
commanded us to take care of them and to
fulfill their rights and to protect them
from even falling into being you know in
state of sins or making even that's why
to educate them to reprimand them to
make sure that they do things in the
right way with the different rulings of
course with a different age it's a
detailed subject definitely a knowledge
that a person should seek and to make
sure that this is something that is a
responsibility that we will be asked
about it in the day of judgment when it
comes to this you know first of all we
need to understand something or some
points that are very clear to us first
of all to have a child this is a trust
this is something a Mana that we will be
asked about it in the day of judgment as
the prophet he
said the man is everybody is is
responsible Like a Shepherd and he's
responsible for his family and the woman
is responsible for her household and
things like this so we will be asked
about it in the day of judgment also the
the subject of raising them raising them
are bringing them not just physically
and MoneyWise and things like this but
also when it comes to education when it
comes to the most important thing is the
religion how are we taking the means to
make sure that we raise them to be
strong and good Muslims that are
obedient to Allah subhana tal as the
verse that we heard
before he
said you know give uh you know repr
means uh teach your child manners make
them upon
manners because you will be asked about
him what did you teach him when it comes
to manners what did you educate them how
what kind of education that you gave him
not education necessarily the secular
education it means what did he learn
from you when it comes to your belief
when it comes to your your manners and
so on and that's why the parents are the
most effective ones to the child when
he's
Young and the Hadith of the prophet is
very clear in
this there's no newly born unless he's
born on the F the pure nature but then
what
happens but his parents they make him a
Jew or Christian or associate partners
with Allah so that means the parents are
the ones that would cause the F the pure
nature the pure innate that Allah
subhana T created us with to be inverted
to be corrupted as a result of them
teaching their children evil things or
deviant beliefs and things of that
nature so what are these rights
basically it's as some gave the
categories of before the child comes in
place before he was born and after he's
born before a child is born he we have
to observe the rights of the child
before he's born yes it goes all the way
when it comes to choosing the right
spouse when a man for example is looking
for a wife he's not looking for
something for his own self as the greed
that is always the case but he's looking
for the mother of his children this is
going to be the mother of his children
Allah knows best so that means this is
one of the rights of the child as the
they say is to make sure that the spouse
is chosen in the right way and that's
what the prophet
said the woman is to chosen for marriage
for four
things for his for her wealth for his
lineage for her beauty for the religion
so take the one with the
religion your hands are full that means
you get the right thing when you take
the one with the religion so uh why is
that so that she would take care of his
household and she would take care of his
children if she's not righteous what's
going to happen to the children nobody
actually it's not like they won't be
taught good goodness everybody is going
to be taught anyway there's no such a
thing as someone being in vacuum people
either they will be taught what is good
or they will be taught what is
evil so to choose before you know to
choose the the right spouse the Dua to
make Dua to Allah subhana tala that
Allah give you righteous offsprings why
would you want to have children in this
life is to make them righteous as Allah
subhana said about
Z
he wanted that child for what reason to
be
righteous heavily give me bestow upon me
from
you pure offsprings not for the wealth
and the status of this life but to be
righteous also some specific details of
these rights is before having the
intimate relationship is to make the vi
that the
prophet taught his um as the prophet he
said if one of you comes to his family
meaning with the intimate relationship
is to
say oh Allah saying first in the name of
Allah Allah make me away from aan and
make the Shan away from me from what
provided from what you provide for me
meaning if there is an offspring there a
child as a result of that relationship
and if there's something if the if if a
child is conceived the shatan is not
going to harm him so this is a great
right that it's to be
observed so after the child is born then
is to make Dua to
Allah making Dua always to Allah subhana
tala for the righteousness of the
offsprings to give them a good name
right uh not to choose a bad name for
them this is their rights because who's
the one that gave them their names you
know their parents uh to be have mercy
towards them to be just in dealing with
them you know as said I've never seen
anyone like the
prophet so merciful towards the children
I've never seen anyone like the prophet
in this and the
of when some people came from from the
beds to the messenger Sall wasallam and
they
said you kiss your
children they said yes so they
said the beds they said but by Allah we
do not kiss our children so the
messenger sallallahu alai wasallam
said do I have any ownership or anything
when it comes to the fact that Allah
took away from your hearts the mercy
what can I do there's nothing that can
that person cannot be helped whatsoever
that means you have no mercy in your
heart which shows the mercy that the
prophet Alat used to have toward towards
the children to uh protect their
honor um and what what's that mean is
don't revile them don't curse them don't
hid them physically you know to protect
that honor and dignity otherwise you
humiliate your child this is has a bad
effect on them and that's why also part
of that is that their rights to play
when they're young the rights to live
their childhood right and not to harm
them and for example the
of that they used to pray with the
prophet and when he would make
when the prophet makes would jump on the
back of the Prophet these are the
grandsons of the
Prophet if the prophet raise his
head he would take them from behind him
with his hands in a gentle
way he would put them on the
ground and when he goes back again for
the second sujud they would ride on his
back again if the prophet s wasallam was
scolding them they would never do this
Prophet was very gentle and the
says till the end of
theah he would make them sit on his
laps so this is the you know the way
that to treat the child when they're
child and to take care of them and to be
kind to them and to have mercy towards
them and part of that is to make sure
that you teach teach them because this
can go to an extreme in how uh the the
parent would not teach their child and
just spoil them basically and not to do
any goodness to them when it comes to
matters of teaching but we'll do that in
next time talking about this so this is
a right to be observed and people they
just it it happens that they get married
for whatever reason there is they have
children for whatever reason there is
but for a Muslim choosing the spouse
observing the rights of the wife the
right of the husband the rights of the
children these are rights to be observed
and we will be asked about it in the day
of judgment because Allah subhana tala
revealed verses and there's aith of the
Prophet so we continue with that next
time
