alhamdulillah we will speak in this
lecture about the sunas of
prayer and
pillars then obligatory parts now we are
talking about
Sunan the Sunnah of a
prayer has no impact on its
validity if you do it you are rewarded
if you skip it you're not sinful for
doing so and your prayer is is
valid so what are these Sunnah because
so many times people are confused and
they make
mistakes thinking that they have
nullified their Prayer by skipping it or
they think that they cannot skip it if
they have a legitimate reason and they
insist on doing it number
one raising up your hands in
Salat and this goes from the beginning
of the Salah till the
end so even in the opening t or the
inauguration T when you say
allahar if you don't raise your hands if
you simply say Allah abbar your prayer
is
valid though this is a pillar to say
Allah abbar rising or raising up your
hands is
a when do we raise our
hands in Salat we raise our hands in
four
locations two of them happen only once
in the
Salat and the other two happen in every
single
ra so the
first place where we raise our hands in
Salat happens only once and that is in
the opening
t
so when we say Allah abbar in the
beginning of course we don't say
it anywhere in the Salat till the end
because it only takes place
once so this is number
one number
two we raise our hands every single
ra when we go to bow for
r
so this is every we have a so every time
we go for we have to
sayb
and while saying allahar in R we raise
our hands so after finishing the prayer
the recitation of the Quran we want to
go for we
sayb and we go for R and this happens in
every ra number
three we raise raise our hands when we
Rise Up from
R so while we in in the r position We
rise up
say and this happens in every
ra number
four is when we rise from the first T
which is in the
second ra when we Rise Up from the
sitting position to the standing
position of the Third
we say allahar and this happens only
once of course it happens when we
praying or a prayer that has four such
as in we don't do this because we have
only one
sitting and we offer Salam
afterwards and the evidences are all
backed up by hadiths whether it's the
Hadith of IB Omar may Allah be pleased
with him or the Hadith of um Abu may
Allah be pleased with him and this
is an authentic
Sunnah raising up your hands
now if someone says I don't want to to
raise my
hands I'm in a Masjid where there are
Fanatics ignorant imbeciles who would
cause War if they say me see me raise my
hands skip it no problem your prayer is
valid number two of the sun of the
prayer to place your right hand over
your left hand when you are in the
standing
position so either you put your right
hand over your
left or you grab your wrist like so
and this is the Hadith of may Allah be
pleased with him he said that the
prophet sallallahu alai wasam would put
his right hand over the left hand and
his wrist so this is the way you are
doing it not this way because this is an
exaggeration and not this way so you
have to cover the hand the wrist and
part of your arm as well where to place
it you can place it on the
chest albani authenticated the Hadith
you can place it over your Naval and
some would say that even if you place it
underneath the navl that would be fine
though there is no uh authentic Hadith
to support that but alhamdulillah it's
not a big issue to fight
over number three
of the things that are
Sunnah after the
opening the Sunnah is to say
the and this
is the opening
supplication and there are a different
versions of it
but it is a Sunnah to say so if someone
skips it and goes straight to fa your
prayer is
valid but the Sunnah is to say it
because the prophet wasallam maintained
saying it and the Sunnah as well is
to
diversify to say this once and the other
one uh uh in another time and sometime
you say the third one or the fourth one
or the fifth one and the most famous
ones
are the one for example in
Muslim where Abu Hur said oh prophet of
Allah do you see your pause between the
opening and the what do you say and the
prophet said I thought that no one would
ask me other than you I
say and this is agreed
on now you have to say this in
Arabic and you can look up the
translation to understand the meaning
and the benefits of it another
supplication is to
say and a third one to
say
as reported by Muslim can we say all of
them together the answer is no choose
one for each prayer but if you say one
for m one for one for and keep on
changing and shifting that's the best
because you'll be focusing more on your
prayer instead of saying it as a
habit the fourth thing to be said due
during Salat as a Sunnah not pillar or
mandatory is to seek refuge in
Allah
Froman so when you recite the Quran
first seek refuge in Allah from Satan
the expelled from his mercy so you
say or any other different
versions that are mentioned in the
Sunnah
number five is to
say now number four seeking refuge in
Allah from Satan we only say it once in
the beginning of the Salat not in every
single however or
saying we say it in the beginning of the
fa and if we're reciting a Surah
afterwards we say it before it this is a
Sunnah in the second ra before reciting
the fat we repeat it if we're saying
reciting another Surah the same goes
throughout the whole
prayer this is a to
say however it is not a
sunah to
recite loudly as done in some schools of
thought this is totally not from the
Sunnah the prophet never did thisam nor
Abu Bakr Omar or Ali may Allah be
pleased with them so to blindly follow
your school of thought and insisting on
saying it loudly is a mistake and it's
against the
Sunnah number six to
say when you finish the
faat and this is a confirmed Sunnah for
the IM for the individual and for the
follower whether
the Salat or the prayer is a loud prayer
or a silent prayer of course if it's a
silent prayer then each one says it on
his own because we don't hear anyone
saying it loudly to say it loudly behind
him and the evidence is the
prophet's Hadith when the Imam says aan
you should say aan as well for the
the
Angels they say as well when they
hear so whoever
coincides with
the of the Angels Allah would forgive
his previous sins and this was reported
