alhamdulillah in the previous lesson we
discussed six of the sun of the prayer
and we
continue number
seven to
recite after the fa a
Surah abuur may Allah be pleased with
him said whoever
recites the F this suffices him and
whoever adds to that that would be
better
and this was agreed upon
so if a person
prays prayer in the four he only recites
the F which is a pillar and that's it
and goes straight to rec his prayer is
100%
valid he skipped the Surah after the fat
in the first and the second ra no
problem in that
his recitation of an extra Surah after
the faat is
is aah not a pillar not something that's
mandatory so by skipping it he loses
reward but his prayer is valid number
eight to
recite
loudly uh or to recite out
loud and to recite quietly in the prayer
so in fager prayer for example
and in the first two of and the Sunnah
is to
recite the Quran
loudly and all the other rakas like in
the third and fourth raak
of
and and the first of course and second
of
and and the third ra of it is Sunnah to
recite
silently and abua said may Allah be
pleased with him that in every single
prayer there is a recitation of the
Quran what the prophet recited loudly we
recited loudly so that you could hear
and what he recited silently we recite
it silently so that you would follow
suit so this is a Sunnah which means if
the IM comes to the Masjid leading the
fer prayer and
he recites the fer prayer
silently the congregation behind him
says Subhan Allah Subhan Allah to bring
it to his attention but he insists on
reciting it silently his prayer is valid
their prayer is valid because he skipped
the Sunnah of course this is not
advisable but the prayer is valid and if
an IM comes to
and starts to recite loudly in the first
and second ra
of again the prayer is valid but he has
skipped the Sunnah number
nine to hold the
knees with the hands or to place the
hands on the knees with the fingers
spread apart when bowing and keeping the
back straight with the head in line with
the back so the way we make
R is that we have our back backs
straight not tilted down and not semi
bowing rather trying to have it parallel
to the
ground and the Sunnah was that if
someone would to place water on the back
of the Prophet Alam it would stay
still and the head should also be in
line with the back so not bowing too
much down tilted and not raising it
up and to place the hands on the knees
with your fingers separated not like
this rather separated on your knees and
this is the instruction of the prophet
as per theith of abdah may Allah be
pleased with
him number 10 when in Ru or
in you should keep your arms away from
your
sides as per the Hadith of Abu may Allah
be pleased with him so in R when we
doing rur we should not keep our hands
next to our sides like this rather we
should spread
them without hurting or harming those
praying next to us likewise in sujud
when we make sujud on the ground we
should do it in such a fashion spreading
our arms away from our bodies not to
keep it like this as some folks do and
this is totally against the
Sunnah number
11 if you remember we said the mandatory
number the mandatory number
in well when doing r or is
once this is
mandatory whatever
comes more than
once is a
Sunnah so if you do it three
times
that's excellent and if you do it 10
times that is
perfect because an Malik says may Allah
be pleased with him I have not seen
anyone resembling the prayer of the
Prophet more than this kid and he's
referring with this kid to
Theif may Allah have mercy on his soul
so the counted how
manyar ABD used to do what while in
prayer and they counted 10 in suud and
10 in
Ru so anything more than one is a Sunnah
and it is
rewarded number 12 the way a person
sits so the sitting position we have two
types of sitting position which is known
as or
and is to have your right foot erected
with your toes pointing to the like
this and you
sit and you place your buttocks on your
left
foot and this is the Sunnah according to
may Allah be pleased with him when do we
sit this type of sitting we sit it in
all through the prayer
itself whether it's between the two suud
whether it's in the first T throughout
the whole prayer we sit this
way unlike
the
the is to be used in the second T
whether it's in the third of or the
fourth raak of the other
prayers and this is to sit on your left
buttocks still erecting your right foot
with the toes pointing to the but you
sit on your left buttocks and your left
foot is underneath your right leg and we
will come to discuss this later on
inshallah number
13 sitting or kneeling with the buttocks
on the feet and this is known
as and this
is like uh uh the Hadith of of T he said
we said to IB Abbas may Allah be pleased
with him man with his father about this
type of kneeling he said this is
Sunnah so some folks said we think that
this is inappropriate for a man uh to
do and or it's difficult for a man to do
and Abbas may Allah be pleased with him
said rather it is the Sunnah of your
Prophet how is
this position to be done the Sunnah is
to erect both your
feet with the toes pointing to the F to
to um the so you're not putting them
down you rather erecting them and you
sit on your
heels so this
is the first uh uh way of sitting and
this is the Sunnah as per the Hadith of
Abbas may Allah be pleased with him the
second form of sitting also known as but
this one is prohibited this one is
prohibited and this one is difficult for
adults to do but children can do it
easily and they often do it and this is
to erect
both
feet having them apart while sitting on
the ground with your
butttocks so instead of having your feet
together no you erect them like this
keep them parts and you sit in between
on the ground on your buttocks and this
is similar to how a dog sometimes sits
when it is commanded to sit this is
exactly how a dog sits and this is what
is
prohibited number 14 this is um known as
which we mentioned a bit earlier and
there are a number of ways of
sitting as you remember we don't sit
this in F because F has only one sitting
we sit this in m in the last sitting or
in any four raak prayer such
as in the
last how do we sit number one is to sit
on your left buttocks with your left
foot underneath your
right leg and your right leg is right
foot is erected with the toes pointing
to the this is the best and this is the
most common that the prophet used to do
number two and three these are
similar though it's an issue of dispute
among
Scholars number two is to have both feet
to your right still sitting on your
butex but both feet are to the right and
number three is to have your foot
between your right thigh and your right
leg so it's almost the same but this
time you instead of having both to the
side you have your left foot in between
your right thigh and your uh right leg
and as I said the first one is is the
most common one uh and Allah knows best
number
15 to point with your index finger in
when sitting and wiggling it and moving
it in its place and the Hadith of may
Allah be pleased with him that the
prophet Sall wasallam he used to do this
and the way of doing it as the Arabs say
to do a 53 sign so the 53 sign is
this you get the pinky and the finger
next to it crunched in you uh touch the
tips of the middle finger and the thumb
and you point with the index finger like
so and you wiggle it in its place as per
the Hadith of may Allah be pleased with
him and you place this on your right uh
uh knee or right uh thigh and the
Prophet said Alam it is harder upon
Satan than iron as if you're hitting him
with the iron number 16 to
look at your index finger while in the
sitting position of tah so you don't
look at the place you're prostrating
rather you look at your finger uh uh
doing it as per the
Sunnah and number 17 is to make Dua
after after T So after you concluded all
of your prayer and your T and your
salutation upon the prophet Alam just
before Salam the Sunnah is for you to do
the Dua because the prophet said choose
from the Dua whatever you like and
supplicate to
Allah and finally number
18 to look to the right and to the left
when offering
Salam so at the conclusion of my prayer
I
say this is a Sunnah so if I finish my
and I
say do the job without looking to the
right and the left but the
Sunnah that the prophet used to look to
the right until those behind him would
see the whiteness of his cheek so he he
would not just
sayam
rather go all the way like this
Sall and Allah Knows
