and welcome back praise be to Allah and
may the greatest peace and salutations
be upon his Prophet Muhammad peace be
upon him my dear students today we're
going to study the third Hadith in the
first level of the prophetic
Traditions the narrator of this Hadith
is the same narrator of the previous
Hadith none other than the leader of the
Believers may Allah be pleased with him
who heard who said in this Hadith I
heard the messenger of Allah peace be
upon him
saying Deeds are by their intentions and
everyone will have only that which he
intended then he says thus he whose
migration was for Allah and his
messenger his migration is for Allah and
his messenger and he whose migration is
for a worldly gain or a woman to marry
then his migration is for whatever he
migrated for so the Hadith is revolving
around the concept of intention or what
is known in Arabic ni some people like
to call it n like uh uh Eastern Asians
they call it n the intention is simply
the
aim and resolve to do
whatever the phrase his migration refers
to the Hijra and Al Hijra in Arabic is
to migrate from one one place to another
and from an Islamic perspective to
migrate from the land of disbelief or if
you're living somewhere where you cannot
declare your faith you cannot worship
freely you cannot pray you cannot show
that you are a Believer and you may be
forced uh to do things different than
what you believe in so to migrate to a
Muslim land to join Muslims where you
can actually uh practice your religion
freely in the Hadith it is talking about
the migration from Mecca to Medina at
the time uh the Believers were making
Hijra and it was made compulsory to
migrate on the 13th year after the
prophet Hood from meca to
Medina so vast majority of people
encountered vast majority of the
Believers encountered the hardship
difficulty and the risk of getting
killed or getting lost in the desert for
the sake of Allah but some people the
migration is not wasn't for Allah s it
was for a worldly gain or somebody who
was interested in marrying a woman who
already migrated so he made H he
migrated but it wasn't sincerely for
Allah's sake and that's why the prophet
sallallahu alaihi wasallam said
whosoever's migration is for Allah and
his messenger then his migration is for
Allah and his messenger meaning he will
be rewarded by Allah
accordingly while when he mentioned on
the other flip a person whose migration
was for a worldly gain or benefit or to
marry he did not repeat it by saying
that his mation is for a worldly gain or
to get married because it's something
insignificant so that's why he said
that's why he said and then his
migration
is for that for which he migrated
insignificant he did not have to repeat
it again or specifically mention
it uh which means that the recompense
for this kind of action will be the only
gain that the person was seeking you can
apply that to giving in a charity you
can apply that to performing pilgrimage
you can apply that to showing off in any
act of worship the almighty Allah said
in the secc Hadith I'm the richest of
all if any servant happen to do an act
of worship which is supposed to be
exclusively for Allah's sake but he does
it while also meaning to please others
other than the almighty Allah then the
almighty Allah says I leave it all I
leave it
entirely I'm not going to take if
somebody was doing an act of worship 8 %
for Allah and 20% he like to be praised
by people the almighty Allah is not
going to accept any of that go and
collect your word from Those whom you
try to please so this Hadith refers to
all that is good so it is the most
appropriate for the believer who wants
to save himself uh and help himself to
understand its meaning and to keep in
mind in all times that it is important
and it is of a great importance to
sincere your intention or simply your
deed will not be accepted especially
whenever it's an act of worship or a
deed that you're supposed to do
exclusively for Allah's sake and
meanwhile you try to please other than
Allah with such as what we call it r or
showing
off um and whoever fall short in his
intent I and aim his
reward then
also his
reward will fall short and will not get
what Allah have promised there is a
Hadith in
which
said on the day of judgment the first
three people who will be sent to Hell
Fire are
three or and a charitable person
so on the day of judgment Allah the
almighty will resurrect the person who
died as a Shahid as people thought so
and he will remind him with his favors
upon him I give you strength I give you
power what did you do with it well I
fought for your sake and I died as a
Shahed for your sake the almighty Allah
who is the only one who knows what is in
the heart will confront him with his
evil intention he said no he didn't
fight for my he F so people will say
he's a hero and it was say go and
collect your word from them then Allah
the almighty will order the angels to
drag this person on his face into Hell
Fire and the second is a person who used
to teach Quran and recite Quran
melodiously or a public speaker or a
when Allah the almighty will remind him
with his favors upon him making him him
learned person reciter memorize Quran
teach the dean and he will ask him and
how did you utilize all of that you said
I taught people the Quran for your sake
I used to recite the Quran for your sake
so the almighty Allah will confront him
with his evil NE they say you lied you
only did so so that people will say what
a scholar we a public speaker what a
beautiful reciter so you did so in order
to be praised by people and they did say
go and collect your word from them then
the angels will drag him over his face
and will throw him into h fire likewise
with a person who used to give any
charity Allah made him very wealthy
Allah will remind him with his favors
upon him how did you utilize these
favors I said I used to give right and
left I used to spend in a charity on
people right and left Allah the almighty
will say you lied you didn't do that for
my sake he did so so that people will
say so and so is a very generous person
and it was
sa then he will join the first and the
second case this is a very scary
scenario brothers and sisters so this
Hadith is one of the Hadith uh which
form the basic principles of
Islam that's why the scholars say the
basic principles of Islam are found into
a Hadith the first is this Hadith Deeds
are by their
intentions and the second
Hadith the Hadith which is narrated by
the mother of the
Believers in which she said that the
messenger of Allah peace be upon him
said whoever does an action that is not
part of this matter of ours simply it
will be rejected because it's an
innovation so whatever we were commanded
to do we must fulfill with sincere
devotion and you're not allowed to
introduce anything into our religion
assuming that well I do it with a good
intention that is not going to be
acceptable so it is essential to
distinguish between habits and acts of
worship for instance taking a
bath why it was hot I'm sweating badly
or somebody feels I stink I need to uh
freshen up no no
problem but could this be
considered which will lift the measure
impurity of course not in order to lift
the measure impurity even though it is
the same procedures but it must be
preceded with a n with an intention so
that's why we say the pillars of w the
pillars of Salah the pillars of you find
it begins with the ni formulating an
intention what are you doing I'm going
to make W okay what are you
doing I'm
taking what is the purpose well you know
it is Friday and it is highly
recommended to perform on Friday so this
is Sunnah recommended
must or I'm taking because somebody
happened to experience W dream or have
an intimate relationship or due to
sexual discharge in this case it is not
sufficient to freshen up and wash your
body and shower you must preceed it with
the need with the intention of lifting
the measure impurity this is just an
example with regards to the intention
concerning the one uh for whom it is
done the intention should be only for
Allah's sake sincerely you know
inah chapter number uh
98 the F the the fifth verse the
almighty Allah
says and they were not commanded but
worship Allah with sincere
devotion with sincere
devotion so every act of worship must be
paid and done for the sake of Allah and
only anticipating the reward from Allah
that's why in Ramadan the prophet
Sall
says whoever will Fast during Ramadan
out of Faith so I I'm fasting because it
is compulsory to fast Allah said
so anticipating the word from Allah then
what will happen to him all his or her
previous sins will be
forgiven and also the messenger of Allah
said with regards to habits that we do
on regular basis you can turn them into
an act of worship or acts of worship how
he said to S and the statement is for
everyone you should know that any
spending any spending you intend to
please Allah with it you will be
rewarded for even what you feed your
wife the bite of food you put in your
wife's mouth seeking the pleasure of
Allah you will be rewarded for it and
this final statement is uh collected by
the two great imams B and
Muslim so accordingly when you intend so
while paying for the tuitions for your
kids school or the medication for your
wife or you're looking after your
mother-in-law not only your parents or
helping any good cause with the
intention of seeking the pleasure of
Allah then guaranteed you will be
rewarded accordingly and this regular
spending will turn into an act of
worship with an immense and a great
reward from the almighty Allah may Allah
guide us to his best till next
time
