alhamd muhamad
start in the name of Allah the
compassion and the merciful all praise
is due to Allah and May the peace and
blessings of Allah be upon his Prophet
Muhammad his family his companions and
all of his followers until the day of
judgment I welcome you to this new
episode from the series of T level two
at zad Academy and we are now starting
Surah abasa Surah abasa where Allah
subhana T says um in ayas 1 to 10 and by
the way this is a mechan Surah meaning
it was revealed before hij and Allah
says in the Glorious Quran
and of course maybe I I read more than
what is going to be covered in this
particular uh passage uh or episode but
um
actually we'll come to it inshallah as
Allah says here from 1 to 10 uh uh he
frowned and turned away because there
came to him the blind man
interrupting but what would he what
would uh make you perceive oh Muhammad
that perhaps he might be purified or be
reminded and uh the the remembrance
would benefit him as for who thinks
himself uh without need to him you uh
give attention and not upon you is any
blame if he will not be purified but for
the for the one for He
Who uh came to you striving for
knowledge while he fears Allah from him
you are distracted
so we we stopped here now uh first uh
let me start with the Hadith it was
narrated
that said the word he that is the
prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam
frowned and turned away were revealed
concerning IB his name
ISD and he used to be also
a or a caller for prayer at the time of
the Prophet the blind
man probably later on he became the MU
he came to the messenger of Allah Sall
alaihi wasallam and uh started saying oh
messenger of Allah guide me
yeah but with the messenger of Allah
there was one of the prominent uh
figures among the
polytheist to the messenger of Allah
kept turning away so the messenger
kept turning away from him uh and
towards the other man saying do you see
anything wrong with what I'm telling
you so he was trying to convince him to
convince this man The prominent man
among uh the polytheists and the other
man kept saying no it was concerning
this that this Surah was revealed this
was narrated by a
and graded as Sound by or
by so this is this is the um uh reason
for Revelation and the context in which
this uh this Surah was revealed and we
can see from the beginning how Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala
is giving a very gentle rebuke of the
Prophet by saying the prophet frowned
and turned away because there came to
him the blind man
interrupting the
frown uh appeared on the face of the
Prophet sallallah Al wasallam and he
turned away from the blind man uh who
was asking him questions because a blind
man came to him uh and asked him about
some matters but he was um
preoccupied calling um the one of the Le
leaders of qur to Islam and the blind
man was uh the great sahab
abdah as we as we already mentioned
Allah did not address the prophet
directly in the first three
ay it's Subhan Allah he did not direct
address him directly rather he spoke to
him in the third person AB he he frowned
so this was an indication from Allah
that he did not want to address the
prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam to
rebuke him directly but rather uh uh
because his Prophet is beloved and he's
uh uh so uh loved and and and Allah
subhah wa ta'ala
uh out of his own Compass compulsion
Mercy towards him and way of honoring
him he did not do it however will come
to reason why did he after that he
said so Allah referred to
theah as the blind man why did he do
that why did he
say he did not say uh uh when the man
came to him or when uh a sahabi came to
him he didn't say that well for two
reasons first to soften the prophet
wasallam heart toward
uh this blind man that's the first one
secondly is to point out that the blind
man had an excuse because he was blind
and he wanted maybe he was uh weak
looked upon as uh nonsignificant or
something of that kind maybe I'm not
saying this is this was in the prophet
heart but rather because he was excused
uh because he was blind and he came to
he didn't know he probably didn't see
what was going on between the prophet
wasam and the uh the man the polytheist
the mush who was there so the prophet
Alam turned away from him he didn't say
anything to him but he turned away from
him because he was preoccupied he was
busy with this with this man but these
are the two reasons so after speaking
the prophet wasallam uh the first person
now the Allah begins to address address
the the prophet directly to show him uh
that he is now speaking directly to him
after referring to him implicitly so
first he started implicitly and then now
he's doing it explicitly and and talking
to him directly so he's he's talking to
him in the second person after he was
talking uh addressing him in the third
person but what would make your per
receive oh Muhammad that perhaps he
might be
purified that's how how do you know oh
Muhammad perhaps this blind man could be
purified and cleansed by what you're
going to say to him so uh he came with
that in fact it is uh uh appraising of
this particular
sah that he came to purify himself and
he was in indeed um very sincere in in
his question and he was uh coming
towards Allah subhah wa ta'ala and
towards you to learn or be reminded and
the remembrance would benefit him so he
was
really uh very keen to be reminded and
the reminder is going to uh uh help him
uh so Allah is is uh is
rebuking the prophet gently in this
regard and saying how would you know
that he was he was not doing this and he
was not coming for this particular
purpose now Allah says after that and
for he who thinks himself without
need to him you give
attention that will you focus attention
on seeking out someone who's not
interested in your message uh and
turning away from you and and not upon
you is any blame if he will not be
purified so it will not harm you in any
way that if he doesn't purify himself
because you your your job is actually to
convey the message not to guide not to
um uh take people or to force them or to
uh really be uh punished for not uh if
they do not accept what you say it's
it's only
your job is to deliver and to convey the
message but as for he who came to you
striving for
knowledge um and then and while he fears
Allah look at this uh Praise of this
prophet he of this
messenger of this
companion he came with this uh interest
and he was fearing Allah subhah wa taala
seeking some knowledge that will be of
benefit to him in his in his and to
learn more about his religion from him
you are distracted you are turning away
and preoccupied with someone else who uh
and IGN and you ignored him so these are
the ayas and what can we learn first the
scholars derived a principle very
important principle uh from these verses
which is one should not ignore a matter
that one is certain about for something
that one is not certain about so go
ahead and and and and uh and do not
leave or ignore a matter that you're
certain about for something that you're
not sure about uh in this regard and
also one should not give up pursuing
something that will certainly lead to
some benefit for something concerning
which there is no certainty that it will
lead to any result or get any benefit so
that is important two that principle has
two two two things first don't leave a
matter that uh you're certain is going
to be um uh for certain or for something
uncertain or get uh pursue something
that uh you you you're going to
certainly have a benefit for something
that you might or might not have a
benefit of so that is the the important
thing and uh uh uh that's why you're
sure that
this advice for uh and and whatever
you're going to tell uh the blind man uh
is going to help him while you may or
may uh not convey you may not be
accepted or or this man from among the
polytheists may not accept what you what
you said the second point is um here
that uh we should not be distracted and
turned away from those who are
interested it's important again this is
for and people who call for for Islam
those who aren't interested in religion
should have precedence over those who
are not interested so that is uh that is
the important thing and it's going to
bring us to uh okay I think we have more
well I think we're going to get the
benefits inshallah in the next episode
so until I see you with the coming
episode I leave you with Allah's care
