ald
so the prophet's hairat wasam was Pitch
Black and as stated earlier it was not
too soft falling down and it was not
curly or harsh it was in between and all
those who described his hair sallallahu
alaih would always say that it
was calmed and brushed it was
fixed and the prophet
Alat had heavy hair hair thick hair so
you could not say that his hair was
little but rather it was uh a thick
whenever he calmed his hair he would
start from the right side he would calb
the right side then he would split his
head his hair into two t two divisions
would begin with the right then with the
left mother AA said that the prophet
always always loved to begin with the
right side whenever he went for w
whenever he calmed his uh hair whenever
he wore his um sandals for
example and the prophet am in the
beginning used to wear his
hair similar to the people of the
book why in the beginning when the
prophet was in
mecah he lived in Mecca for 13 years as
we know and all the inhabitants of Mecca
were Idol
worshippers and they used to do what the
Arabs do so they used to split their
hair from the middle to the
sides so the prophet while living in
Mecca always liked to take sides with
the people of the book in contrast to
taking sides to the idol
worshippers because we believe in one
God while they they associate others
with Allah so he used to have his
hair in in a way that was going down and
not split into
sides so the hair used to come in front
of his eyes like horses have their hair
in front of their faces this is how the
people of the book the Jews and the
Christians used to wear their hair frier
Tu for example in Robin Hood this is how
they used to in some of the priests in
uh and monks in France and in England
used to do this as well so this was part
of their religion part of their culture
that the prophet
Alam loved to look like in contrast to
the idol worshippers when he moved to
Medina now it was different because the
vast people in Medina were from the
Jews in contrast to the Muslims there
were no Idol worshippers then because
they if whole had fled or reverted to
Islam now it
became obvious that we have to go
against them because this is how we
Muslims believe that we have our
identity and our religion is based on
abiding by Islam and by Shar which is
based on going against the practices of
the people of the book now the prophet
Sall alaihi wasallam went back into
dividing his hair into right and left to
go against the hairstyle of the Jews and
the
Christians
and in a
nutshell as IM nawi
says it is permissible totally to do
either one either
to have what is known as a sadle which
is to have your hair falling down from
the middle all over your head or to
divide it into right and left which is
Al and Al is best because this was the
last thing the prophet
didam to the extent that even some
Scholars say like Tamia that this became
a sign of the Muslims so if they were
people who were non-muslims living among
the Muslims they were ordered not to uh
uh um split their hair into right and
left so that they would not imitate the
Muslims what about shaving the
head did the prophet sallallah Ali
wasallam shave his head every now and
then the answer is no it was never
reported that the prophet sallallahu
alaihi wasallam shaved his head except
in three places or
events
on when he was blocked from completing
his so in order to take off his he had
to shave his head and Slaughter his
sacrifice and go back to
Medina number two the following year
when he came
for so after he concluded his he shaved
his
head and in his Hajj as well when he
went for uh uh Hajj and if we would
include the fourth time when he made his
second omra after the battle of T maybe
that would also be uh um the fourth
event where he had shaved his
head what is the ruling
Ona is a prohibited practice some of the
ignorance do and that is to shave part
of the head and leave part of it and
this is prohibited because the
prophet made that prohibited and this is
not
permissible in any form whether you
shave the upper part and keep the sides
or shave the sides and keep the upper
part or uh keep the front and shave the
back or the opposite either way it is
not
permissible what about Pro the prophet
Alat dying his hair well it's an issue
of dispute but the most authentic
opinion is that the prophet may have
dyed his hair sallallah alaih wasallam
sometimes and he instructed those who
wanted to do so to avoid the
black so he said the best one of you may
change the color of the whiteness of the
gray hair on his head or beard is to use
H and
Alam Alam is a herb that is mixed with h
that gives it a dark brownish color and
using black to dye your hair is totally
prohibited even if your hair was black
before becoming
gray and the prophet clearly indicated
thatat when he
said addressing Abu
Bakr to dye the hair of his
father Abu he said change the
whiteness and avoid
black and the prophet
saidat that this is the best uh uh thing
to do is to use H and Alam but using
black this is a dangerous thing the
prophet saidat there will be people at
the end of time who will dye their hair
as black as the corpse as the crops of
pigeons they will not even smell the
fragrance of
paradise
and of course when you die your hair you
should avoid imitating women and and to
do be done in a an honorable fashion
using uh um
zaffron uh and the likes or H or the
likes so that you would change the
whiteness into uh orange or yellow or to
dark brown and all of that is
permissible inshallah
