alhamdulillah
when we talk about
Footwear the
prophet
wore what
others had
worn so he put
on
shoes what we call in the past as
Al and H is made of leather he was
gifted
alhi wasallam a pair of HS and he put
them on and also he used to wear on many
occasions sandals and these
sandals had different shapes and forms
so is it part of the Sunnah to wear
such
sandals the answer is no this is part of
the Arabs habit you prefer to wear your
uh
um Jordans you prefer to wear your
sandals your shoes normal shoes whatever
you wear there is no problem in that
providing you don't go to extravagance
you don't imitate the disbelievers and
something that is weird and not worn by
Muslims and there are
eates for example and part of the eates
that maybe we have failed in mentioning
uh um in the last
class that is wearing
red so what is the ruling on wearing red
this head gear I'm wearing is red and
white this is okay why because you're
wearing it no the prophet may have worn
something like that what is not
permissible to wear when it's totally
red like Ferrari red this is not
permissible to wear a t-shirt or a head
scarf for men that is totally red that
has no other color with it or other uh
stripes in it or something to mix up
with so what are the etiquettes when it
comes to wearing shoes or sandals it is
not permissible to wear uh
shoes in one foot and leave the other
one barefooted so sometimes you see
people wearing one pair of sandals or
shoes and the other one is barefooted
this is prohibited the prophet said
either wear them both
or walk barefooted in both
feet and there is no problem in buying
beautiful
shoes the problem is
in buying something that is extravagant
paying so much money over something that
you would wear on your foot and step on
dirt and filth with that
is
extravagance and it is not something
smart people do unfortunately now in the
times of social media and the likes a
lot of people tend to to feel weak and
want to imitate these influencers by
buying expensive brand names that would
not please
Allah the Sunnah is when you wear your
shoes or your sandals you start with the
right
foot also part of the
Sunnah and this is a Sunnah that a lot
of the Muslims don't do is that you pray
wearing your shoes or sandals the
prophet
saidat go against the practice of the
Jews for they do not pray in their
sandals or their
shoes and this is a recommendation not
that it is permissible rather it is a
recommended Sunnah so if you're in the
airport for example and it's time to
pray you don't have to take off your
shoes and pray on tiles or on the ground
there's there are no carpets why are you
taking your shoes off pray with them
on this is a Sunnah that we see
alhamdulillah many people are picking up
and doing it in public
areas the thing that is not smart to see
people coming into the Masjid where
there are carpets with their shoes
now this is
inappropriate so why the prophet said we
should go against the Jews and pray in
our shoes yes but without making a clean
PL Place filthy if you come from outside
you definitely have stepped on soil on
sand on dirt and it would leave it marks
on the carpet and this is not a good
thing to do in addition to the fact that
many people would come and you know go
ballistic against you for what you have
done they would pick a fight they would
cause much more harm than thinking that
this is a Sunnah that it has to be done
which is not uh um
true
now when it comes to
other
issues when applying the Sunnah you have
to think of the
consequences sometimes it is
not of great
importance yet there are Among Us those
who would like to shove it down people's
throat which is not a very smart thing
to do
again among the the Sunnah that the
prophet used to
doat was to wear a
ring and this is something that we tell
people that and it is an issue of
dispute is it part of the Sunnah or is
it a cultural
thing the most authentic opinion it is
not a sunah that you rewarded for rather
the prophet used to wear a ring which
actually was a
seal because when he used to dispatch
messages to world
leaders his companions advised him that
such leaders would not accept any
message that did not have a seal on it
so he took a ring made of silver that
had
the engraving of Muhammad rasool Allah
Muhammad the messenger of Allah so it
was in three lines
and some say that such a
ring was made of silver but it had a
stone with such engraving and some say
that the prophet had more than one
ring what is the ruling on wearing a
gold ring for men is totally prohib
hited and the prophet Alat
wasam took a ring made of gold from one
of his companion's hand and tossed it
away and said in Anger why would anyone
put place a stone of fire in his
hand
and also uh uh um it is permissible to
wear a ring made of iron though some
Scholars don't prefer this but this was
asked by the prophet Alat wasam for a
person who wanted to get married but did
not have any dowy to give the prophet
said to him go and look even for a ring
made of
iron so to wear a
ring made of silver is permissible but
it is not a Sunnah it is something
permissible without
a problem except if a person wears it
when they get
married because wedding
rings is a
tradition that it has religious
background and it's done by the
Christians where the priest comes with
the ring and he says in the name of the
Father the Son and the Holy Ghost and he
places it here so so they say that this
is the Seal of the marriage and if it's
taken out or taken off then the marriage
will
break this
is a this has religious background and
it's not permissible for Muslims to wear
wedding rings but if you wear a silver
ring or a ring that is not made of gold
there is no problem in that for men and
