indeed the prophet Alat
wasam was the perfect human
being which meant that he was like
us a human and humans have their natural
needs
they answer the call of
nature as they also sweat when it is
hot Al and Muslim may Allah have mercy
on them reported that the prophet
sallallah alaih Ali
wasallam sweat as normal humans an Malik
says I've never touched anything softer
than the skin of the Prophet Alat wasam
no silk no other material and never ever
found a
fragrance of the sweat of the Prophet
sallallahu alaihi wasallam better than
the fragrance of the sweat of his of the
Prophet
Alat there is no fragrance
sweeter and more beautiful than his
sweat
Abu may Allah be pleased with him he
said that the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wasam once went and
prayed and and this was uh in Hajj or um
something similar in
Mecca
and the people afterwards came and took
his hand and they started
wiping with his hand their faces and
this is a way of seeking Baraka and
seeking blessing of the perfect human
being so he says that I placed his hand
on my cheeks and I found them to be
cooler than snow and more fragrant than
musk Imam Muslim
says the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wasallam once prayed and he
went and he was met by
children so he greeted each one of them
by wiping on their
cheeks and when he came to me and he
wiped my cheek his hand was
so cool and beautiful and the the
fragrance of his hand as if he has just
taken it out of the pot or the vessel of
a perfume Cellar you know where the
perfume Cellar mixes all his perfumes
and makes his own uh brand what would
you expect this vessel uh to smell like
so this
was the
nature of the prophet's sweat and
fragrance and IM Muslim reports that
anas may Allah be pleased with him says
that
the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam
was
white with reddish tint this is his
complection and his
sweat was similar to pearls when he had
sweat on his forehead you could think
that this
was like similar to pearls and he says
I've never smelled any musk or Amber
that smelled better than the fragrance
of of the Prophet sallallah alaihi
wasallam people would know that the
prophet
passed through an Al alley or a street
when they find his fragrance sah alai
wasallam so good in the
air not only that they used to collect
his sweat and use it as
perfume and this was done
by may Allah be pleased with her the
prophet s wasallam and she's the mother
of anas Malik anas Malik was a servant
of the Prophet
Alam and you all remember that um when
the prophet came to Medina she was a
smart woman she brought her son who was
10 years of age and she said he's a
learned boy o prophet of Allah keep him
with you he'll serve you and he will not
charge a
dime so he accompanied the prophet for
10 years learning from
him and benefiting the Baraka of his Dua
and that was indeed one of the best
investments of um this smart
woman the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wasallam used to take a nap in her
home and she was the only one that that
he used to nap other than his homes and
uh uh wives and
um and her sister
uman The
Companions and the scholars of Islam
agree that they were m to the
prophet some say that their mother or
grandmother suckled the prophets
father Abdullah because his side of his
maternal side the father of the Prophet
were from Medina so they were the mams
of Abdullah
and as a result the Maham of the Prophet
Alat so
once he took a nap in the
afternoon and while he was
asleep he was
sweating
so
went and brought a bottle and started to
collect the sweat in this bottle the
prophet woke up and
said what are you
doing and she said oh prophet of Allah
we mix your sweat with our perfume for
it is the most fragrant of
perfumes and the Prophet Alat wasam
approved of what she had

done the prophet sallallahu alaih
wasallam used to love
perfumes and he said of worldly
pleasures women and perfume have been
made dear to
me and my delight is in
prayer however Scholars say that
this fragrance of the Prophet Alat wasam
was not the result of the perfumes he
used to
apply rather this was a miracle and a
gift from Allah
Asel that his natural scent is sweeter
than musk and the fragrances
combined and this is why the prophet
sallallahu alaihi
wasallam avoided a lot of the things
that may give him a bad smell so he
never ate raw onions or garlic or the
likes because of their bad odor and yes
he used
to
accept and enjoy applying
perfumes and this is not a sign of
arrogance as some may uh uh think rather
it is part of Islam that you always
smell present Pleasant I know of
students of knowledge that whenever they
shower and they shower once or twice a
day they
apply moisturizers and body lotions that
would give them a beautiful scent when
they meet the masses in the mid or in uh
um when they're going around and they
always have a pleasant smell to their
hands and they apply or and the likes
and this is part of the Sunnah and this
becomes even more emphatic when you go
to Gatherings of the Muslims such as
Friday prayer Eid prayer and when you're
going foram when you're attending the
congregational prayers or when you are
reciting the Quran when you're seeking
knowledge and making Vick when you do
this because of the presence of the
Angels around you and the others then
that would be a very good thing also for
a woman to apply her perfumes for her
husband that is a form of worship and
Allah highly uh recommends this and she
is indeed rewarded for such a a thing
now having said that it is totally
prohibited for woman to apply
perfumes where there is a possibility
for nonah men to find her
scent and this is a major major sin the
prophet saidat any woman who puts on
perfume and passes by people so that
they may smell her
fragrance is
a which means an
adulteress and this is a
very very grave and serious warning for
women who Adorn themselves when they're
going out you'd like to wear perfumes
wear it when you're home when people
other women are visiting you when you're
in the company of your Maham but if
you're going out and you'll ride with a
driver or a bus or public transportation
or go walk in the streets and non Maham
men could find the smell of the perfume
this is a major sin and is totally
prohibited
