alhamd my dear students welcome to the
seventh Hadith in the second level of
the beautiful prophetic collection of a
Hadith today's Hadith is a sound Hadith
highly profound agreed upon its
authenticity and it is narrated by one
of the great Companions of the messenger
of Allah sallu alaihi wasallam Abdullah
Mas narrated
Abdullah that the messenger of Allah
peace be upon him said oh young men
whoever among you can afford to get
married let him do so since it is more
effective in lowering the Gaze and
guarding one's Chastity and whoever
cannot afford it let him fast for it
will provide him with the
protection meaning the protection
against committing adultery protection
against fallen in sins this is an
amazing prophetic guidance and uh let's
begin by shedding some light
ond he's such a great companion he
observed the three hijr he migrated to
ABIA
twice the first and the second Hijra and
he also migrated to al- Medina may Allah
be pleased with
him he was one of the senior companions
in terms of virtue and
wisdom as a matter of fact he was so
learned in the Quran to the extent that
he have learned directly from the
prophet Salli wasallam 70 suras all
alone by himself he heard them
immediately from the prophet sallallah
Al wasallam while no one was around he
used to say there is not a single verse
in the Quran but I know where when and
why was revealed amazing the prophet
sallallahu alaihi wasallam admired him
in multiple occasions may Allah be
pleased with him he died in the year 32
after the migration of the Prophet
sallallahu alaihi wasallam during the
of he appointed him and he sent him to
Alfa in order to teach people their
religion Al kufa in Iraq back then a few
things that we need to get acquainted
with such as when the prophet sallallahu
alaihi wasallam called
upon oh young men and that by the way
also can apply to young girls those who
are interested in getting married and
there are proposals nothing uh is
hindering them from getting married go
ahead and get married because both have
the same needs as shabab is plural of
shab which refers to a young man who
have reached the age of PTY many of the
uh
Scholars refer to the period between 19
and 34 as the youth period so a person
who is between 19 and 34 is addressed
with this Hadith anyway any person who
is in need to get married and can afford
the means of getting married financially
and physically then he should get
married as the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wasallam has said why because it is very
effective and it is more worthy and
especially with regards to enabling the
person the young man to lower his gaze
not to look at the beauty of another
woman whom Allah forbidden him from
looking at why because he has a wife he
can satisfy his desire in a lawful
fashion it is such a great means of
helping you to lower your
gaze likewise it is very effective more
effective than any other means with
regards to guarding one's Chastity
because if he's married and if he's able
to observe this sexual relationship in a
lawful fashion of course this is best
and more effective in guarding his and
her Chastity again is falling in what is
Haram
um the brief ex explanation of this
interesting Hadith
that wasallam who is not just a prophet
not just a teacher but he is Mercy to
Mankind he is is merciful he is a
merciful teacher so he guides the um to
what is beneficial for them and he takes
them the farthest away from anything
could cause them to fall in a sin or a
harm so wasallam is addressing those who
have reached the age where they have the
desire to get married and they have the
means what is holding you back go ahead
and get married indeed it will protect
your Chastity indeed it will help you to
lower your gaze because looking at what
Allah has forbidden is a sin and when
the sin is accumulated one sin after
another and that habit happens all the
time habitually then afterward the
person might turn me looking into an
action and they fall into the act of
Zena which is a major sin such a heinous
sin but when the person at an early age
alhamdulillah he's physically capable to
conduct this marital relationship and
also financially able to provide for a
family preed on bmah as you all know
that marriage in Islam under goes the
five religious rulings so sometimes it's
mere permissible sometimes it is highly
recommended sometimes it is obligatory
sometimes it could be disliked or it
could be even Haram when a person knows
that he will not be able to fulfill his
duties as a
husband he cannot function as a man in
bed then it is not permissible to
approach a woman in marriage where you
will be depriving her from her right or
a person who's having a contagious
disease STDs one of the sexual
transmitted diseases major major disease
such as AIDS or whatever then it will
cause a harm to to the other party then
you should stay uh at away or a person
who's already uh married and he's
struggling to provide for a family
cannot afford it then he takes another
wife or a third wife while he is in debt
so it depends on the condition of the
person a young man who has a desire to
get married mallah have the financial
means whether he personally or his
family can afford to help him to get
married and he has a job or he can make
some earning to provide for a wife and
the future uh children B in marriage in
this case is highly recommended and you
will be rewarded for to the extent that
the messenger of Allah peace be upon him
said in one
Hadith when a man and woman a husband
and wife a couple have an intimate
relationship sexual relations they will
be rewarded for that the companions said
oh prophet of Allah How could a
person you know while having sexual
relationship satisfying his sexual
desire and receives the word he said
what if the person were to do it in an
unlawful fashion he goes out on a dating
he sleeps with the prostitutes or
commits adultery doesn't he deserve to
be punished he they said yes indeed he
said for avoiding what is forbidden and
resorting to what is permissible he will
be rewarded mashallah so here wasallam
is guiding the umah to the means of
Chastity you know in
Surah uh chapter number
24 uh the two consective verses 30 and
31 in verse number 30 Allah commands the
believing men to lower their
gaze not to look at the beauty of a
woman who's not lawful for them why
listen to the
verse command the believing men to lower
some of their gaze obviously you're not
going to walk all the time looking down
some of their gaze so when you see
something which is not lawful for you to
look at lower your gaze but your family
members your wife your daughter your
mother it's okay to lower some of their
gaze
why and to guard their Chastity you
lower your gaze you'll be able to guard
your Chastity you will be able to avoid
falling into adultery and then Allah the
almighty says indeed Allah is well
acquainted of what they
do then the following verse the almighty
Allah commands the believing women to do
the
same for the same reason
so wasallam offered a practical solution
for the one who cannot afford to get
married because they do have the desire
but they don't have the financial means
they cannot afford to take care of a
family they will be borrowing money day
and night right and left he said if
you're not ready yet then you can be
patient through lower in your gaze
through
fasting let him stick to
fasting means protection protection
against is what when the person is
fasting and he is hungry and he thirsty
he doesn't think about sexual relations
and also because when the person is
fasting it uh it
Narrows the passages of Satan in our
bodies it reduces The Whispers of a Shan
because the person is very keen to
perfect their fasting so that Allah the
almighty will accept it and that's why
fasting is a solution it is not a
permanent solution it's a temp temporary
solution until you work you start
earning and you can afford to get
married or find the person whom you uh
perceive or you believe that uh she will
be your best lifemate and so on
um among the virtues of marriage
obviously is having an offspring and
leaving behind lineage and family
especially goodly of spring who will
pray for you after uh your death will be
a continuation of your life but it is
not listed in the Hadith because the
initial motive for the Youth to get
married is the
desire you know now Allah created the
sexual desire in both men and women men
desire women women desire men this is
you know straightforward the way Allah
created uh people in order to maintain
the human race so that they can get
married they have an off Spring so that
the human race will continue
right but initially what people think
about is satisfying the desire and
that's why wasam addressed in the youth
this motive he said in order to lower
your gaze in order to guard your chity
get married provided you can afford the
uh means we learn from this Hadith
brothers and sisters that Islam
prescribes marriage because there is
much wisdom behind
it um and many many benefits such as the
continuation of the human race as I
mentioned earlier uh keeping both
spouses Chast and enabling them to avoid
falling into the Haram creating comfort
and Tranquility as Allah stated in Surah
chapter number 30 verse number
21 among his sign
that the almighty Allah has created for
you from among yourselves spouses in
order to find Repose in them comfort and
peace of
mind and he placed between you affection
and mercy indeed in that there are signs
for people who Ponder and reflect
increasing the number of the Muslim umah
preserving the
lineage um protecting women and taking
care of them by spend in and working
hard to provide for them shouldering
your responsibility as a family father
fulfilling the paternal and the maternal
Instinct uh protecting Morality In The
Society from declining another lesson
the Hadith is you know is an
encouragement for youth to get married
and the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wasallam was a good speaker rather he
was the most eloquent speaker sallallah
alaihi wasallam who addressed uh youth
young men in an appropriate manner
sallallahu alaihi wasallam also the
messenger of Allah peace be upon him had
a good approach in teaching his uh umah
and explaining things to them this is
clearly seen in the way in which he
would tell them of the ruling and
explaining the reason or the wisdom uh
behind it the individual and this is the
final lesson we learn um in this Hadith
the individual should avoid anything
that would lead uh to letting his gaze
wand and fallen into
immorality
because the simply looking at what Allah
has forbidden will deliver the person
into committing an act of fornication so
from the beginning we were taught to
block the means blocking the means is an
essential ruling in Islam the almighty
Allah didn't say Do not commit adultery
rather in he
said don't you go near Z likewise with
regards to drinking in
says avoid it stay away from it so among
the greatest means which will prevent
the person from falling into what Allah
has forbidden is marriage in order to
lower his gaze and to guard his and her
Chastity May the Almighty Allah protect
all of us and guide us to what is best
until next
