and welcome back to the 12th Hadith in
the second level of the prophetic Nobel
Hadith we begin as usual by praising the
almighty Allah alone and sending the
greatest peace and
salutations upon his most beloved
Prophet Muhammad peace be upon Him
today's Hadith is narrated by mua Abu
sufyan one of the scribes of the Quran
and the great Companions of prophet
Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam and
the Hadith is a highly profound Hadith
agreed upon its
authenticity
mu narrated that the prophet sallallahu
alaihi wasallam he said I heard the
prophet peace be upon him saying when
Allah wants to do good to somebody he
will make him comprehend his religion
obviously his or
hers then he added I'm merely a
distributor and it is Allah who gives
Allah is a
giver this um will continue to adhere to
the command of Allah and those who
oppose them will not be able to harm
them until the decree of Allah comes to
pass Hadith requires lot of
explanation We Begin by shedding some
light on the narrator of the Hadith mua
the son of Abu sufyan mua accepted Islam
before the conquest of Mecca while his
father accepted Islam during the process
of the conquest of uh Mecca right before
the prophet wasallam entered into Mecca
and then his Islam became stronger after
uh the Battle of H after he observed how
Allah the almighty granted his Prophet
Sall wasallam Victory with a fewer
number than those who accompanied him in
the beginning obviously I'm referring to
his father Abu
sufyan uh mua Abu sufyan is a founder of
the umay and he was the first KH from
bani during the and the era
ofak he appointed him in one of the
battles under the commandership of his
brother yazid Abu sufyan
mu died on the year 78 after the
migration of prophet Muhammad Sall
alaihi wasallam and as usual we sh some
light on some of the phrases of the
Hadith then we'll into the general
meaning how to comprehend the Hadith and
what do we learn out of it so the first
Hadith uh which the first statement
which says that if Allah wants to do any
good to somebody he will make him
comprehend his religion and understand
his religion the understanding of the
Halal and Haram do and do not do the
concept of the AA uh matter to the
extent that that the person becomes a
fak
a the person who comprehended the uh
Islamic Juris Prudence so people would
ask him what do you think of this is
this Halal is thisam is this Mak is this
disliked Etc a person who excels in this
field becomes a
like the messenger of Allah peace be
upon him
say the most learned person in my um
when it comes to lawful and
unlawful and so on so the here refers to
comprehending the dean and theam the
rules of the Islamic Juris Prudence dos
and do not dos lawful and unlawful and
so
on then when the messenger of Allah
peace be upon him said I am merely a
distributor distributor of what he
divides equitably among people what
Allah has given
him whether we're talking about wealth
money War spoils
or and it is Allah the almighty who
gives it is Allah the almighty who
bestows upon the prophet and upon the
recipients of their Companions and
others the true Giver is the almighty
Allah for all things simply happen by
the will of the almighty Allah he gives
to each of his servants according
to his will and decree and His Infinite
knowledge what suits this person and
what Su a person and how much this
person deserves versus how much others
deserve and so
on the uh umah will continue to adhere
to the command of Allah in observance of
the teachings of Allah's
religions and implementing its laws and
adhering to them until the decree of
Allah has come referring to the day of
Resurrection which simply means this
umah will prevail and will last and will
continue and it will not be eliminated
until the day of judgment there will be
ups and downs victories and losses but
by the end this um will last until the
day of judgment since uh the initial
Hadith muan
said about the prophet sallu Ali
wasallam abim it is important to learn
whether it's okay to use this Kun one of
the Prophet Sons is
Alim andam had seven
children three boys and four girls one
of his sons is Alim Al abdah and ibraim
and he was given the after his son name
Alim so the prophet Sall alaihi wasallam
said in a soundi agreed upon its
authenticity you may name your sons
after my name but it is not permissible
to call yourselves by my
Kun so during the life of the Prophet
sallallahu alaihi wasallam it was
forbidden for anyone to gain the the
title of abim there was only one person
who known as abim that is Prophet
Muhammad Sall alaihi wasallam so when
people come and say abim referring to
Prophet Muhammad I have seen I have met
abim I have heard from abim then it
refers only to Prophet Muhammad
sallallahu alaihi wasallam and how do we
know that this prohibition was only
limited to his life simply because there
is another Hadith
where said I said oh messenger of Allah
if a son is born to me after you're gone
after you meet the almighty Allah after
you pass away may I call him by your
name and give him your he said yes so
this is a correct understanding of the
meaning of you may name yourselves after
my name that's why the most prominent
name worldwide is Muhammad and the
number one name among the newborn in the
UK is Muhammad but abim as a as a
nickname was limited only to Prophet
Muhammad during his life after his death
it's okay to call yourself if you have a
son his name kasim or Alim to be given
the
abim the general meaning of the Hadith
that Allah subhana t bestows a lot of
favors upon his servants whether those
who deserve or those who don't deserve
Believers or non-believers but the
greatest favor Ever After choosing
somebody to become a believer is to make
him comprehend his
religion to know what is halal and what
is Haram to abstain from what is Haram
and to enjoy what is lawful to fulfill
the Commandment of Allah and to stay
away from his prohibitions and to be
able after learning that implementing
that to impart it and share it with
others in the sound Hadith the messenger
of Allah peace be upon him
said the best of you is the one who
learns the Quran then teaches it to
others and also the messenger of Allah
peace be upon Him is merely a
distributor and a conveyor of the
Islamic uh knowledge he conveyed it from
the almighty Allah and it is Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala who grants the
memory the understanding to whomever he
was I mean all the companions were
sitting in front of the Prophet
sallallah alhi wasallam but not only of
them receive the same level
of and
only Allah whom uh only whomever Allah
wants to
bless and to do good to him he will make
him will make him comprehend his Dean he
will make him understand his Dean what
is the meaning of understanding his Dean
knowing the Halal and the Haram the
meaning of the quranic verses and the
revelations and the statement of prophet
Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam and
so on
so the prophet did share with all his
companions the same but some people were
given better understanding greater
memories than others
Abu who accepted Islam only in the last
four years of the life of prophet
Muhammad s wasallam was the companion
who narrated the largest number of
Hadith more than any companion even more
than Abu Bakr and others who accepted
Islam with the prophet from day one he
narrated over 5,000 Hadith what kind of
memory is this Allah granted him such
powerful memory because the prophet
sallam pray for him and ask Allah to
make him not to forget his statement lot
of lessons we learn from uh this Hadith
brothers and sisters number one it sheds
light on the important of seeking
knowledge and the virtue of devoting
one's time to learn and obviously after
word to impart this knowledge and share
it with others and most importantly to
benefit out of the knowledge that you
have learned to practice it yourself
secondly the
knowledge that we referring to in this
Hadith uh you know isn't about physics
it's not about chemistry all of that is
praiseworthy and useful and beneficial
if you learn it for the sake of Allah
and if you help the community to benefit
out of that to make people's lives
easier no problem all science is praised
and uh um you know those who spend time
learning and acquiring degrees in
various fields of science are admired if
they believe in Allah and they benefit
out of that and they try to benefit the
community with their knowledge but the
exclusive meaning in
this is referring to the religious
knowledge so we got to keep that in mind
the best of all of you is the one who
learns the Quran then teaches it to
others uh it is important also to
understand when it comes to the
religious knowledge it's not all the
same rather it is divided into based on
the Mandate of acquiring this knowledge
into two categories there is knowledge
which is required on communal basis a
communal bases like you know learning
The Inheritance law how to wash the dece
um the details of enjoing what is good
and forbidding what is bad the
principles of Juris Prudence The maxims
you know if limited number of people
learn it uh in order to educate the
community and answer their question is
sufficient but there is a knowledge
which is required on individual basis
knowledge of how to recite the Quran
knowledge of how to pray how to fast
what to do in case that you forget
something in your prayer those who are
going for Haj the knowledge of
Performing ha and omah those who have
wealth the knowledge of the payment of
zaka that is uh mandated on individual
basis we also uh benefit from uh the
Hadith that the proper understanding of
Islam is not limited to acquiring and
having knowledge only rather uh what is
equally important is practicing this
knowledge you don't want to be like the
children of whom Allah said I refer to
the in the Quran
as like a mule or a donkey carrying
loads of books a library you have a huge
library at home you own many bookshelves
full of books but you don't read them
and if you read them you don't benefit
out of them so that is totally uh
dispraised by the almighty Allah and
condemned also the voting one time to
seek and knowledge in Islam is superior
reward far superior reward to the
voluntary
prayers Sunnah and even fasting Mondays
and Thursdays because this
is with a limited benefit to yourself
while seeking knowledge and teaching
others its benefit is communion it
benefits others that's why the best of
all of you is the one who learn learns
and teaches it to others learns the
Quran and teaches it to others obviously
we don't say you don't have to offer
voluntary prayers or tud or whatever but
we're saying that if there is a conflict
of interest like I need time to study to
learn theam of to learn and time is very
limited so if you es skipe the night
prayer in order to study this this is
even Superior the umah according to the
Hadith will persist in adherence to the
Past of goodness and truth and will not
be harmed by those who differ um with
them as long as they stick to and adhere
to the teachings of Allah the almighty
the um will experience many ups and
downs losses and victories you
know but what matters that the almighty
Allah has assured the prophet and the
prophet peace be upon Him have shed us
this umah will not vanish despite all
the plotting despite all the
Confederates Gathering against that but
this um will last until when until the
day of judgment will last in the
understanding and the comprehension of
the dean will last in spreading the dawa
and prevailing will last in being
Victorious a group of the umah will
remain Victorious they will not be
harmed by anyone one by the Le of Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala until the day of
judgment they will continue to spread
this de and this is one of the greatest
forms of observing
J may Allah the almighty make us among
them and until next time I leave you all
in the care of
Allah
