alhamd
how isid prayer
offered prayer and J are almost similar
the difference is in jum the Imam comes
and delivers
two two
speeches and then afterwards he prays
two
ra inid prayer it's the other way around
the Imam comes and delivers two
two raak prayers and afterwards he gives
a sermon and a difference of opinion
among Scholars whether it's one or two
similarly to
Friday so in the first
raak there is also a
difference in the format from Friday
however the format is quite easy due to
the
ofb may Allah be pleased with him that
the prophet sallallah alaihi
wasam and Abu Bakr and Omar used to pray
prayers before
the and the
prophet used to also give seven in the
first in the first raak and five T in
the second raak according to abdah
A's um
Hadith so from the beginning the Sunnah
is that you come as we said to pray the
Eid
prayer when it is time for D which is
after the sun rise by the throw of a
spear which is approximately about 15
minutes from
sunrise and the Sunnah was that the
prophet did
notat
pray before prayer any supererogatory
prayer nor after it no na he would
straight ahead go to pray the Eid prayer
and the question would be should we when
we arrive to the prayer M Plaza should
we pray two
an issue of dispute some Scholars
according to the Hadith have just
narrated they said no the prophet never
prayed two raas before or
after others say that well this is a
prayer place we should pray two
rakas I personally am inclined to the
first opinion because this is not a
Masjid and the two rakas are to be
prayed in a Masjid which is
dedicated and a full-fledged
place for a uh prayer and when we where
we pray it's an open Plaza Anything
could happen there but it's definitely
not a
Masjid so this is the doing of the
Prophet Alat wasam that he never prayed
before or after Eid prayer the format is
as we said two raas and in this these
two R the Sunnah is to pray or to offer
seven in the first one before reciting
the fat and five in the second
ra the difference of opinion is in the
first what do you
mean theith of abdah states that the
prophet
said in theid prayer which is
like seven in the first R and five in
the second
raak now all Scholars agree in the
second raak when you stand up from sujud
you say Allah and you stand erect you
offer
five no one said offer four T because
the fifth was when you started rising
from sujud
so they did not include the T of
movement in the five T of the second
raak why do I say this because if you
retract a bit and go to the first
raak Scholars say you give
six
after so they included the inauguration
T that we start prayers with in the s
seven this doesn't make any sense that's
what made some Scholars like IM in his
book to say
no you offer the first T like every
other prayer and you do not include it
with these auxiliary or extra
ters and according to the Hadith you
offer seven
t as I said it's an issue of dispute
it's not a huge issue so you follow the
IM if your Imam offers then six you do
with it and if he does this the latter
opinion which is then seven then so be
it the format is to
give then you
give whether
after that you give the seven ters or
the six ters raising your hand with each
T so you say
allahar you pause for a few seconds
allahar
allahar and so forth after you finish
your six or seven ters then you
say and you recite the f after after
reciting the fa the Sunnah is to
recite
and as we do in J prayers or you can
recite
and the the moon as the prophet used to
do either one s
am all
Scholars agree that the Sunnah is to
recite the E prayers loudly not to be
recited
silently now most if not all Scholars
indicate that before going to Juma
people must refrain from sinning well we
should refrain from
sinning for Juma for Eid for any type of
festivals so why do we specify Friday
why do we specify uh uhid because during
Eid prayers people tend to
celebrate to Feast so they
wear their most beautiful attire whether
they're men or women now with men we
have no problem the problem with men is
when their clothes go go against Shar so
if they have their clothes below the
ankle whether in or elsewhere when they
shave their beards whether inid or
elsewhere when the women Adorn
themselves and wear perfume and show
their uh uh Beauty and expose it to
whether in or elsewhere so usually this
is a disclaimer that a lot of the
scholars uh mention when they speak
about
now uh among
the the things that are highly
recommended sunnas that the prophet used
to
doat before setting off for prayer
number one if it
is theid of f which comes after
Ramadan the Sunnah is to
eat dates before setting off from your
home why I don't want to eat eat no you
should eat so that it's the way of the
Prophet first of allam secondly because
this indicates to yourself and to the
others that I'm not
fasting so this is what the prophet used
to do and the Sunnah is to eat them in
odd numbers as per the Hadith of anas
may Allah be pleased with him secondly
the Sunnah is to go to e prayer walking
and not riding your car or anything else
if it is within the vicinity and it's uh
appr proximity is quite close then this
is the
Sunnah and it is also part of the Sunnah
that when you go to e prayer that you
announce the
T that's for men but the women say it
silently but repeatedly and the t is to
say Allah
as Peri of may Allah be pleased with
him and you do this from the moment you
exit your home till you reach the prayer
area and if you're waiting for the Imam
you say it continue to say it until the
Imam comes and appears and then you
refrain
fourthly the Sunnah is as per Hadith of
jab abdah may Allah be pleased with him
man with his father that the prophet
sallallahu alaihi wasallam used to
alternate and change the
route of going to the Mah and coming
back so if you use one road you come
back home from another road scholar say
that so that the nonm Muslims would see
the greatness of Islam and the huge
population that are are attending such a
festival and a ritual of Islam that they
would be amazed by
it and the Sunnah as well um
in is that there's no problem in
exchanging greetings with one another so
when you see someone and you
say this was reported by the salaf
which means that may Allah accept from
uh us and you and this is done by the
companions um and it's inshallah U valid
and authentic as
well we have to note
that a lot of Innovations have
invaded are
Islam among these in
Innovations the
T that some people may do
um in
congregation and this type
of is
a the type
of done in
unison where all the
Muslims chant the T together in one
melody in one
um way of saying it by saying
allahar this is widely spread in Muslim
world and this is something that neither
the prophet Salli wasallam endorsed or
directed us to do nor the companions may
Allah be pleased with them had done
now question If a person or a group of
Muslims do not know that it isid until
after midday now today this is almost
impossible because alhamdulillah we have
communications we have mobile phones we
have TV radio so citing the moon and
telling the people is widely spread they
can know about it in few seconds in the
past it may had happened because those
who cited the moon saw it somewhere Far
Away by the time they reached the city
to inform the people it was already past
midday so what would happen if this
takes place well if it's already past
midday the time ofid prayer is over this
happened this incident happened once at
the time of the Prophet alai am and when
those Nomads came and told the prophet
sallallahu alaihi wasallam that they've
cited the Crescent the night before the
prophet sallallahu alaihi alhi wasallam
ordered the people to break their fast
because they were fasting they thought
it was the 30th of
Ramadan and he ordered them to break
their fast because this is the day ofid
and he ordered them to go and gather the
following day the second of sha the
second ofid to offer theid prayer in
congregation so this is an indication
that if it were permissible to be
performed after the prophet would have
done it but this is the end time of
it question do we have any or for the
Eid prayer and the answer is no there is
no aan and there is no as per the of Ja
that he prayed so manys with the prophet
sallallahu alaihi wasallam and he would
not uh begin uh with the prayer before
the he would begin with the prayer
before theba with noan and no so there's
no call for
it and what about if someone misses it
so should we make it up Scholars say
that this is not from the Sunnah whoever
misses it then it's gone you can't come
at 10:00 wake up at 10: or 11:00 uh uh
before noon time and you said whoops I
missed it so I should pray it no you
shouldn't it's gone it is history
however Scholars say that if you come
like 5 10 minutes late when the
congregation prayer is over but the IM
is still giving the that you may pray
with others to together and you should
uh do that because the people are still
there the Imam is still there so this is
uh type of permissible without any
problem what
if the Imam
forgets the extra T this happens the
Imam is used to offering the T and
reciting the fat so one Imam comes with
all these thousands of people behind him
and he
[Music]
says and he
says and he forgets to add the seven and
he starts to recite
alhamdulillah and Midway in the in the
fat he remembers should he interrupt his
fat and go to the the answer is no fat
is a pillar he can commence the pillar
and the t is a Sunnah there's no problem
in what he had done he should
continue and uh uh there is nothing for
him to make up with the grace of Allah
what if the M comes late the follower
comes after the Imam finishes seven and
started to recite the faat so should he
start to say Allah abbar while the IM is
reciting the Quran and do his seven the
answer is no if he did not follow the
Imam he should not do them uh at all uh
to make up these
ters now sometimes and this happens
every few years it so happens that the
Eid prayer is on a
Friday so it coincides a
Friday this
is an incident that took place at the
time of the Prophet Alat wasam and when
he prayed hisid prayer and this was in
the early day in early morning when
giving theba he notified the people and
he said to them today there are two
feasts there are uh uh have come
together two eids have come together on
this day of yours so for whoever wishes
he does not need to pray the J but we
are going to pray
J this means that if you prayed prayer
you're Exempted from the obligation of
attending the Friday prayer with the
congregation but of course you have to
pray
four in your home it's not going to drop
all together but if you missed your e
then it's mandatory for you to attend
the Friday
the prophet himself did both and he said
that this is fine for those who have
missed it they um for those who have
offered the Eid prayer they don't have
to attend Friday but we are going to do
so
