Kind: captions Language: en [Music] AC [Music] alhamdulillah how to wash a deceased now with the grace of Allah it's a very very easy process there's no complications in it and it's not tracked science simply because as we've stated earlier whenever the need for something is huge and great Allah makes it easy we all have to breathe so we find air everywhere no problem you just inhale air that is and water is also hugely needed but much less than air so we can find it but we need to put a bit of more effort to that so when we come to the issue of washing a disease the one who is chosen to wash the deceased should be someone who's trustworthy of good character has knowledge of the rulings oful and how it's done according to the Sunnah someone who's trustworthy so that he would not go out to the public and say oh man that guy I washed he had these and that in him and I saw bad things and it was smelly and so those related to him would be offended those who do not know him May suspect that he was an evil person and this is why Allah punished him by such exposure uh of his bad things but all of this is not true so the issue is that the person that was uh um or is supposed to walk a deceased has to be trustworthy and knowledgeable and who is more deserving has precedents who would should be prioritized the closest to the deceased his next of kin so his father his son his grandfather his siblings and so the closest to him should be appointed to wash the corpse of a deceased as long as they have knowledge in doing so otherwise which is in a lot of the cases a lot of us have weak hearts and would not want to do this so someone else would do that who is more knowledgeable uh uh for doing this now what is the ruling for or on women washing off men or men washing off women this is something that is totally prohibited men wash men women wash women except for a man washing his wife or a wife washing her husband the prophet s alaihi wasallam indicated that this is permissible unlike some schools of thought which go against the Sunnah and claim that once a person is dead then there is no relationship between him and his wife and the marriage bond is broken so she cannot touch him this is totally Bogus the prophet said to Mother what harm will it do to you if you die before me and I take care of you wash you and shroud you so this is something that the prophet Sall wasallam taught us that it is totally permissible and we know that when the prophet died his companions washed him mother AA said may Allah be pleased with him if I had known before what I know now one would have washed the prophet no one would have washed the prophet except his wives so this is the Sunnah and as or may Allah be pleased with her and she is a great female companion who was married to jaur AB Talib and when he was martyred she married Abu Bakr sik the khif of the prophet wasam and when when he died she married Al Talib may Allah be pleased with them all and she was the one who washed her husband Abu Bakr ass sik and also Ali ABI Talib washed his wife Fatima may Allah be pleased with them all now is it permissible for a Muslim to wash a disbeliever a cafir there is a difference of opinion among Scholars and the most likely authentic opinion is that a Muslim must not have anything to do with a disbeliever preparation such as washing shrouding burial and burial even if he was a relative of his like a father or a mother because Allah says in the Quran oh you who have uh uh believed do not make allies of people which are with whom Allah has become angry and also Allah says in the Quran and do not pray the funeral prayer oh Muhammad over any of them who has died ever or stand at his grave indeed they disbelieved in Allah and this was regarding the Hypocrites that the prophet was ordered not to pray or to ask Allah for forgiveness for them may Allah have mercy on his soul says if the prophet was prevented from offering funeral prayer or to stand by their graves and to pray for them then anything less such as washing shrouding or burying them would be as well uh something that is prohibited now when we want to wash a deceased we have to prepare pure water and we have to do this in a concealed place not in an open place where every Tom Dick and Harry could watch and no one should attend the washing of the deceased except someone who should be present someone who is needed his Services is needed someone who will participate and contribute in washing the deceased so we would like to wash a deceased who is lying in front of us what to do first of all we have to lay him down on a suitable High uh um place a platform so that he could be washed on on it in a disclosed place where people could not see him then we have to cover his his private part has to be covered and then we strip him of his clothes of course with the exception of his private parts and then we made him sit a little bit by raising his head as much as possible and this is done so that if there is any waste in his stomach would come off or come out from his private part and we squeeze his stomach to ensure that anything of waste would come while washing the body while the water is running so that the waste the feces the urine everything comes out with the water the running water and we wash his private parts as we usually do when we uh answer the call of nature defecate urinate by wrapping a cloth on your left hand and you wash his private parts to ensure that there is nothing uh there after doing your level best to empty his uh stomach from any such uh filth then we of course the intention is to wash the deceased and we say bismah the person doing the washing should do the steps of woodo to the deceased washing the hands wiping over the lips and the nose because we can't Ren his mouth and nose because this would cause water to enter his stomach and then this is not something uh good so just wiping over the mouth and the nose then washing the face then um uh the hands then wiping over the uh head and then we also wash his beard and his head with uh what is known as um lutus leaves Sid and this is known leaves that would purify and cleanse and nowadays we have uh uh soap and soaps would do the same um ruling and then after washing his head thoroughly and his beard we wash the whole body beginning with the right side first then the left side first then the back and we ensure that the whole body is was washed thoroughly of course because he's dead he's lying on his back so we have to turn him to the right wash his back then put him back again turn them to the left people helping you wash his back from the other side and ensure that all of this is done while having a piece of cloth or a sponge on your hand to avoid direct contact when not needed and to thoroughly cleanse and wash the body once is mandatory a whole wash and three is highly recommended to wash this same process three times to ensure that everything is uh uh pure it is um highly recommended in the third and last wash to use uh what's known as Kaur Cur uh in the water for the last washing this as Scholars say gives the body sort of stiffness and the OD of it would keep um insects and the likes away from the the the Sease and it gives it a smell some Scholars say that it is recommended to clip the nails and trim the mustache and uh uh and and the likes but I could not find any evidence to support this and there isn't anything that I would know to support it but this is what Scholars uh uh have suggested and recommended as for the female who has long hair it should be braided into three braids and to throw to be thrown behind her back what if we are stranded and there is no water to wash the deceased with as in the places of catastrophe plane wrecks or whatever we're in a place that there is not enough water to wash the deceased with or what if the corpse of the deceased is completely torn off burnt badly damaged that we cannot wash it because it would fall off in this case we perform for the deceased uh uh and do the wiping of the hands and the face to the best of our ability now the Sunnah is that people should those who were involved in washing the deceased should perform afterwards because the prophet in in a Hadith said whoever washed a deceased person let him do and Scholars dispute whether this was abreg or remains that it is it is best to do so because it's not something that is difficult or harmful inshallah what about if a the person who died was a martyr and he died at the battlefield Martyrs who died at the battlefield not at the hospital not at back home they died in the battlefield on the battlefield these are not washed they're not shrouded in different clothes rather they are to be buried as they are in their own clothes and it is they're not also offered funeral prayer because this is what the prophet didat in the Mars of uh the Battle of uhud he ordered them to be buried in their blood in their own clothes and he did not offer the funeral prayer how to shroud a deceased the ruling on shrouding a deceased is done or learned from the Hadith of the pilgrim who who was thrown off the back of his camel and broke his neck the prophet said shroud him in two pieces of cloth a lower garment and an upper garment that would cover his entire body this is the Sunnah so if there was only one garment and we're talking about extreme cases and in this case we should cover as much as possible of his body beginning from the upper part and whatever is left then we should cover it with whatever leaves of of of trees or plantations that has a pleasant fragrance to it as this was what had happened with may Allah be pleased with him at the time of the Prophet now if the deceased was in the state of then as mentioned earlier he's shrouded in his in two pieces of his clothes but without covering the head the head must not be covered because the prophet saidat wasam do not cover his head so the Sunnah in normal people men should be shrouded in three pieces of garment and women should be shrouded in five pieces of cloth one to cover the lower um part of the body known as um isar and the other one is to cover the upper part of the body knows known as um the head cover um which is thear and then we have the Kam which covers the upper body unlike thear that covers the head and then the two outer wrappers that would cover the full body this is the Sunnah five some people say no five is too much we use three some use a little bit more a little bit less the all all is fine and the best is that it should be white and the fabric can uh best is to be in Cotton but if there is no cotton one wants to use something else then again there is no problem in that [Music] for for [Music]
