alhamd continuing stud with the subject
of reflecting thinking in the proper way
as part of the Deeds Done by the heart
in Islamic education too and what are
some of the fruits of a what are the
benefits what are the rewards what a
person can attain as a result of doing
the or reflecting in the proper way the
way of the people
of within the limits that Allah subhana
tala made for us one of these great
benefits is that if if it's done in the
right way it increases the Iman as we
know that Al Iman increases and
decreases increases with the good deeds
and decreases with the bad Deeds one of
the ways to increase one's Ean is to
reflect upon things is to take lessons
from this and that takes the person to
have that certainty in the rewards from
Allah subhana tala in the way that Allah
subhana wa tala revealed the Quran and
in the Sunnah of the Prophet Alat so
this is something that we need to be
upon
uh it calls the person to exert oneself
when it comes to the deeds done for the
sake of Allah seeking the rewards from
Allah subhana in the Hereafter as we
know for the deed to be accepted by
Allah subhana T we have to be sincere we
have to follow the way of the
prophet and for the person to seek
rewards from Allah he seeks rewards from
Allah in the Hereafter not from this
worldly life in the here after and how
can a person do that unless he reflects
because the year after is not there yet
for oneself so you have to think of the
Hereafter he has to reflect upon the
fact that he is now being generous being
kind to the poor not for anything that
is worldly benefit but seeking rewards
from Allah subhana tala in the Hereafter
and that's why a person would turn with
his heart away from seeking the pleasure
of this life versus seeking the pleasure
of Allah subhana wa tala in the
Hereafter so this is the benefit of
as he said
that when you think about what's good
would invite you would call you to do
actions
when which means when you regret doing
evil and when you think about the
outcome of evil then would make you stay
away from it and that's why you know
always to have intentions to do what is
good why because you think about the end
of things what is your Affairs after 100
years from now which is after we depart
from this life right so therefore a
person would make the right decisions as
a result of that so this is a great
benefit why because if a person always
think thinking about the Hereafter and
the honor of the Hereafter and the
everlasting life of the Hereafter
comparing that to this worldly life
you're comparing an everlasting life to
a life that is 60 70 years so is there
anything or form of comparison there's
no comparison you cannot put them
together so how would a person choose
this worldly life over the Hereafter and
this is part of the test and the trial
in this life either or a person choose
with his heart either to live a life of
a sin by following the desires in this
short period of time on the face of
Earth or to be patient and choose the
rewards from Allah subhana tala in the
Hereafter that's how a person becomes
smarter when a person would think in
such a way that to be obedient to Allah
subhana wa tala another great benefit is
it brings the fear of Allah subh tala in
the hearts when you read the Quran and
you read verses that talks about the
punishment of Allah what happened to the
Nations before and the here after the
what does that do to the heart when a
person think about it not that he's just
he's reading and that's it but
reflecting upon it you know then a
person would have the fear of Allah to
think of the names and attributes of
Allah subhana tala that makes you exalt
Allah subhana wa tala so it takes away
the heedlessness as some of the early
generations of Al Islam they mentioned
also to uh get to know the the the real
state of one's
being uh we need to know ourselves as
human beings one of the miseries of the
human beings that they don't know
themselves that's how it sounds strange
people think that they're smart enough
to know themselves but in reality they
don't have you ever seen an arrogant
person saying that he's so arrogant have
you ever seen someone that is so stingy
and greedy that he that he would say I'm
so stingy and greedy you know or I'm so
ignorant you know human beings they tend
to fool themselves so part of the proper
T and reflecting is that a person get to
know his own self and the best way to
know yourself is when you read the Quran
how Allah subhana described the human
beings so when Allah subhana tala talks
about the human beings that the human
beings that he is so ignorant and he's
so uh wrongdoer then you say this is
myself and as a result of that I need to
act upon what Allah subhana T wants from
me so a person would quit praising
himself but rather he would diligently
work to be obedient to Allah and always
ask Allah subhana t for forgiveness so
when a person is so fair when it comes
to his own self looking at sins as Sins
Not to try to find excuses for oneself
but rather to reflect so that the person
would know his reality that at the end
he would see that without the mercy of
Allah subhana wa tala that human being
is ruined if you think that you're all
that and you will be able to be in that
state of being pleasing Allah subhana T
because of your actions you did not
think in the proper way because you
don't think of your sins you don't
remember the shortcomings and so on one
of the things also that would affect the
umah in large is that it affects the
entire umah when people invite others
for the sake of Allah to Allah subhana
tala to the dean of Al Islam inviting
those who are forgetful the youth among
this um to make Salah to repent to Allah
subhana wa tala to put priorities in a
life and to work for the dean of Allah
subhana wa tala where is the weaknesses
how to fix our weaknesses all of that is
not based on just looking into the
reality of things but rather to look
into the from Allah and to know as imik
and others they would establish their
life upon this
that that the end part of this um would
never be rectified except with what
rectified the beginning part of this
umah so we have an example not just text
not
just in the Quran and the Sunnah of the
Prophet but we have actions we have
understanding that Allah subhana
elevated the levels and he was pleased
with them and made them Victorious and
well established on the face of Earth
because this is all based on the
religious means the w means that Allah
subhana tala revealed also when it comes
to establishing benefits in matters of
knowledge for example look at the great
Scholars of This Dean how did they
compil this great uh amount of knowledge
in their books and so on with this
ability for them to think in the proper
way with the knowledge that they sought
uh repenting to Allah returning to Allah
subhana wa ta'ala always and this is one
of the great uh outcome and benefit of
reflecting right so uh when you take
lessons from every matter
as used to always mention this line of
poetry as you have
it if the human being has a he's always
thinking that means he has and a lesson
in every matter so you reflect you
analyze things in the proper way you
would take lessons you know if someone
dies for example someone whether you
know or you don't know someone that
filled this Earth You Know with their
accomplishments right maybe long time
ago and now they're old and they're weak
they used to be the strongest they used
to be the fastest they used to be the
most intellectual ones powerful and so
on but now they're weak and old and they
cannot even think properly and then they
die you see the power of Allah subhana T
take a lesson from it you know in
whatever the creation of Allah human
beings or plants or whatever there is so
this is how a person would make him
repent to Allah reflect upon what is the
purpose of this life and how to rectify
ourselves and so on so this is one of
the great acts of of of to reflect upon
what we need to reflect upon and that's
why they uh you pray very light but you
would reflect in them and you would
think in them some of the the prophet
would beside the verse all night she
would do the same thing thinking about
it reflecting upon it right and that's
why is you know many of them would have
these types of narrations that we would
read you know keep on repeating it even
if you don't have much of the Quran
memorized you know as
Muhammed he would say that for me to
recite in the entire night till the
morning and I won't say anything more
than
that and I keep on repeating them and
thinking and reflecting
it's better for me than to just recite
the Quran very quickly meaning not
reflecting upon the meanings of it right
so the point here is to benefit from
what we recite and that's why um another
important aspect is are we thinking the
right way you know a person might think
I'm thinking I'm reflecting but am I
doing it the right way but if it's leads
the person astray as we said before it
has to be within the limits of the Shar
it has to be according to the Quran and
the sunah of the
prophet and it has to be even when you
before you recite the Quran one of the
purpose of that you
say because thean is going to be there
to prevent you and deprive you from
benefiting from the Quran so he would
make wi and Whispers and so on so you
say seeking refuge in Allah subhana tala
from the cursed Shan so that he does not
make you confused of what you're reading
and what you're doing and what you're
reflecting upon and uh also to stay away
from sins sins has an effect where we
don't see it physically this is
something that we get to know from the
revelation of Allah sins causes the
person to have distorted way of thinking
and this is such a powerful thing a
person is punished in this life when
they don't think properly why is that
it's because of their own sins Allah
subh T says say that in the
Quran I would divert away from my signs
from reflecting upon them those who
arrogantly live on the face of Earth
without the right to do
so whenever they see an A A Sign from
Allah they don't believe in
it they see the path of of uprightness
they won't they won't take it as a path
to to follow
and if they see the path of deviation
they would take that as the path to
follow so as a result of that Allah T
diverted them distorted their ability to
think and even that uh the when Allah T
said about those who take and use R and
user and interest and so on
those who they thought that they're
reflecting and they said buying and
selling is exactly like the what's the
difference I purchase something with1
dollar and and I sell it with a dollar
and a half and made money what's the
difference between that and someone
taking a loan and then pay an interest
so they use their own false and foolish
thinking to oppose the way of Allah
Allah T permitted buying and selling and
he forbade usually as straight and as
clear that is but when they reflect Ed
in the wrong way what happens to them
Shan he would beat them up like that
someone is been beaten up by the Shan
meaning they will be distorted as one of
the of it they won't be able to see
things right why is that they might be
very smart they have 10 phds and
whatever means of of goodness but
they're distorted in their thinking why
because they're they deal with interest
and R so the fact is to be obedient to
Allah and to stay away from sins and
more of as we said so we'll stop here
inshallah tal and more of these Deeds
Done by the heart who need to be upon
and to learn how to be upon them and it
becomes a life-changing aspect in our
life inshallah so we continue next time
