alhamdulillah my dear students welcome
to the third level in the beautiful
prophetic Noel Hadith and today
inshallah the first Hadith is a very
sound Hadith narrated by a great
companion known
asash may Allah be pleased with him it
was narrated
that said I heard the messenger of Allah
s wasallam say and he put his fingers to
his ears like that and then he said that
which is halal is clear and that which
is Haram is clear and between them are
ambiguous matters which many people do
not understand whoever guards against
the ambiguous matters will protect his
religious commitment from shortcomings
and will protect his honor from
slander but whoever falls into that
which is ambiguous will fall into that
which is forbidden which is Haram
exactly like a Shepherd who grazes his
flock around a reserved land or a
sanctuary he will soon ENC Crouch upon
it verily every King every King has his
reserved land or sanctuary and verily
the reserved land of Allah is that which
he has
forbidden in the body of every human
being there is a piece of Flesh which is
if if it is sound the entire body will
be sound and if it is corrupt the entire
body will be corrupt verily it is the
heart this Hadith is agreed upon its
authenticity it is narrated
byash and collected by the two great
imams alar and Muslims and others
andash may be this named ring ail before
but he's a very distinguished companion
because he was number one the very first
child to be born for Al after the
migration
ofam his maternal uncle is Abdullah may
Allah be pleased with him very great
companion who have been martyred on the
Battle of
M and he has narrated from his maternal
uncle and from and from the mother of
the
Believers
several by the way he was appointed as a
or a judge in Damascus during the and he
died on the year 65 after the migration
of the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wasallam and
Bash may Allah be pleased with him is a
companion whom his father wanted to give
him a gift and his mother said you have
to go and consult the prophet Sall Al
wasallam so he brought the case to the
messenger of Allah and he asked him
whether he has other siblings or not he
said yes but uh he didn't give everyone
similar to what he give to an so the
messenger of Allah said well then find
somebody else to testify to that because
I do not bear witness to falsehood and
we have learned the importance of
equally giving the GRS to the children
from the Hadith
of may Allah be pleased with him this
Hadith
ofal is clear and Haram is very clear
crystal clear actually is one of four a
Hadith which the scholars perceive as
the four pillars of the
de
like the
of you know these are by their
intentions in this
of B so we're talking about a very uh
important and a seriously significant
Hadith because not because it was going
to explain to us everything about Halal
and Haram but it brings to our attention
something really serious which is when
it comes to the matters which you may
not have a clearcut about it whether
it's Halal Oram it doesn't mean it's
ambiguous it is ambiguous for you it is
ambiguous to certain people but for
those who are deep in
knowledge have exceled in the field of
the religious knowledge it's not
ambiguous it's easy to tell you whether
it's Haram or Halal this is fact number
one fact number two that the messenger
of Allah Sall wasallam in this Hadith
has guided us as how to go about it how
to deal with ambiguous matters we'll
learn that shortly inshallah but there
was a gesture in this Hadith like
when um pointed to his ear years when he
said I heard the messenger of Allah Sall
alhi
wasallam this G is simply to indicate
that I'm certain of what I'm saying yes
indeed it's not that somebody told me no
I heard them from the prophet sallallah
alaihi wasallam it is to confirm his
statement so this is very
important saying that
the almighty
Allah commanded the prophet sallallahu
alaihi wasallam to
deliver the message in a very clear way
he
said the duty of the messenger is to
convey the message and to convey it in a
very clear manner to make it Crystal
Clear there is no ambiguity that which
makes Islam and our belief monotheistic
belief distinct and distinguished from
any other belief because it's very
simple for any person to understand
worship likewise when it comes to the
applications of this uh belief the
practice the worship Halal and Haram you
find almost
everything whether it regards to Halal
and Haram Crystal Clear every Muslim
knows that drinking wine or any
intoxicant is Haram every Muslim even
Layman understand that the swine flesh
and anything that comes out of uh their
fat like lard or whatever it's Haram to
use and
consume every Muslim knows it is
mandatory to pray it is halal to uh to
add vinegar to salad or to eat honey or
to eat Slaughter of meat Etc Halal is
clear and Haram is clear then in between
the gray
area doubtful
ambiguous when we say doubtful it
doesn't mean that Allah keep them this
way or Allah subhana wa tala put
anything in his religion which is
ambiguous or to confuse people no not at
all we will learn many verses talking
about the clarity of the message the
clarity of of
theam but ambiguous pertaining to the
recipient or the person who is in this
position like you know a lot of people
especially those who actually
smoke they question whether smoking is
Haram or Halal and they're kind of
confused why they said we heard some
people saying it is Mak or disliked or
uh it is not like intoxicant or or or
then when you said with the when you
call a program when you send an email
ask the Sheikh say look every pack of
cigarettes says smoking kills so it is
not forbidden because it is intoxicant
no it is forbidden because it is harmful
and Allah the almighty
said don't you kill yourselves Allah is
merciful with you
and Allah said what it means do not
throw yourselves In Harm's Way and the
messenger of Allah peace be upon him
said harm should not be inflicted nor
reciprocated and smoking doesn't only
harm the smoker it harms those who are
around him as well so it's a violation
of many things you know your body your
soul your physical willbe is an AM that
Allah the almighty entrusted you to look
after and maintain
you're violating all of that and you're
not supposed to cause harm to others
you're violating that as well so when
you sit with somebody who's a learned
person will uh break it down and explain
you know you didn't have to feel
confused about it it's very clear it is
Haram so some people pertaining to many
things they will inquire because they're
not sure it doesn't mean that the H is
not clear or it's not there there is the
Quran there is theah there is a general
consensus there is the the analogy there
is there
is so
the will be um capable to find out and
provide the answer to people and the
prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam said
whenever you are confronted with a
matter you don't have time to ask you
don't have people around to find out but
it is ambiguous to you what what are you
supposed to do enjoy
it uh feel like pretend like you don't
know about it no the messenger of Allah
has given us the greatest guidance in
this regard he
said whoever avoids those ambiguous
matters I'm not going to do it stay away
from it has indeed s security for two
things his religious commitment so he
doesn't fall in Haram or even dis Li
and his honor he protected his honor so
no one will you know accuse him of
falling in the Haram
unknowingly so seeking Purity and
security for one's religious commitment
and for his honor is actually a mandate
and a requirement yeah the messenger of
Allah peace be upon him said when you
confronted with something which is
ambiguous stay away from it also in the
Hadith the prophet sallallah alaihi
wasallam spoke about the
heart the heart which he said every one
of us has a heart in Arabic the word
heart
means in Arabic and is taken from which
is flipping over frequently that is the
heart that's why the messenger of Allah
peace be upon Him used to frequently
seek Allah's help to guard his heart and
keep it steadfast on the straight path
because today the person is rightly
guided and he's IM is very high next day
or by the end of the day due to being
exposed to fit and trials the Iman is
low and so on he used to say oh Allah
the one who changes the hearts keep my
heart firm onto your religion previously
when the messenger of Allah peace be
upon Him explained to his companions how
uh everyone prestigious people in the
dun have sanctuaries the White House
there is a fence then there is another
fence then there is a third fence you're
not allowed to come close to a
particular area or otherwise you you may
get
shot Don't Come Close that's called
Sanctuary this area is protected
military and navy police area no
photography so that's called
Sanctuary the messenger of Allah gave
the example to his companions Allah's
Sanctuary is his prohibitions so keep
distance between you and what Allah has
forbidden you don't come close to the
fence of Haram this is a magnificent
rule in Islam in the principle of Juris
Prudence which is known
as blocking the means stay staying away
from what is forbidden lest you may fall
into what is forbidden so we learn from
this Hadith that theam or things in this
D are either Halal Oram or what is in
between and the prophet sallallahu
alaihi wasallam has guided us to avoid
the doubtful matters to the best of our
ability in order to seek security for
our religious commitment and also for
our uh honor um we have learned that
when we say ambiguous it is not
naturally ambiguous ambiguous to me or
to you not to the dean not the way Allah
subhanahu wa taala revealed it and
wasallam said in the Hadith I'm leaving
you on clear path the night of which is
like its day no one will drift away from
it after I'm gone except one who is
doomed and explained everything you
don't say well Allah didn't explain to
us or the messenger of Allah didn't
explain to us rather he did sallu alaihi
wasallam and then if you're still
confused Allah the almighty said inah
chapter number 16 verse number
43 so seek knowledge and ask the people
of knowledge if you don't know and
finally
if a Muslim is confused about some
matters we should find
out as a messenger of Allah said and if
some of the scholars do not know they
may seek knowledge from those who are
more uh learned and well versed than
them since Allah the almighty
said above every knowledgeable one there
is one who more knowledge
may Allah grant us the proper
understanding of his
