my dear students welcome to the second
Hadith and the third level of the noble
prophetic Hadith today's Hadith is
narrated by a very famous companion none
other than
Abu and the Hadith is agreed upon its
authenticity narrated
AB that the messenger of Allah Sall
alaihi wasallam
said whatever I have forbidden
you avoid it and whatever I have
commanded you to do then do as much as
you can of it then he said s wasallam
said for those who came before you they
were only doomed because of their asking
too many questions and they're
disobeying their prophets once again
wasam
said so in the Hadith it began
with if I have ever forbidden you
against anything then you should
completely refrain from doing it if I
have commanded you to do anything then
do as much as you can out of it then he
made mention of what destroyed the
Nations before and made some people
doomed which is two things asking too
many
questions uh asking their prophets too
many
questions and disobeying their
prophets uh beginning with the um
introducing the companion
Abu whom we spoke about him in level two
before he narrated over 5,000 Hadith
from the prophet S wasallam no one of
the companion have narrated as many like
Abu that's why he is a main target of
many of the Deviant sects because if
they discredit him they discredit over
5,000 Hadith but he is a very reliable
praiseworthy companion and the prophet
sallallah alaihi wasallam prayed for him
may Allah strengthen his memory so that
he would not forget he devoted his life
since he accepted Islam to the company
of prophet Muhammad s wasallam and
learning from him
Abu was also appointed as the governor
of bahin by
om may Allah be pleased with him and
afterward he was appointed as the
governor of Medina during the
um and he died on the year 59 after the
migration
ofam um the Hadith begins with whatever
I have forbidden you
of doing or I ask you not to do then you
must avoid it
entirely not
partially and uh that
means if the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wasallam has
said do not do this do not do that he
said wasam for
inance Quran stated that RBA is
forbidden and the prophet Sall wasallam
ordered those who were involved in riba
beginning with his Uncle Al abas to
quit so you don't say you know gradually
or little by little or some is halal and
some is Haram you avoid it
completely when the prophet sallallah
alaihi wasallam received the Commandment
from Allah
the verse of which is the final level of
forbidden
intoxicant uh Abu tal had some gifts and
Ann Malik was pouring wine for them
because it was permissible to drink at
night as they were drinking they heard
the messenger of Allah's messenger
somebody whom the prophet sallam sent to
travel all over Medina to tell them oh
people indeed Allah has forbidden all
sources of wine and intoxicant so they
poured it immediately if they had some
wine in their mouth they spit it out to
the extent that they broke the utensils
and the pots which have alcohol a lot of
wealth one of the companions came to the
prophet Sall wasam said this is a wealth
I invest for the orphans he said get rid
of it it is not worth it's not
permissible anymore this said well uh I
use it as a treatment he said there is
no way that it could be a treatment
Allah did not put any treatment in
something which has forbidden so do not
use it do not use it it's absolutely
forbidden refrain from its use its
consumption absolutely or dealing with
it and whatever I've commanded you to
do as you all know that the Commandment
Maybe by
um what W you know to um to do as
mandatory acts of worship the prayers
the fasting uh you know the Hajj the
giving of the zaka or it could be just
mere uh
dislike or Mak so the prophet sallallah
Al wasallam is talking here about the
prohibitions of what he said it is Haram
it should be avoided completely it
should be avoided in entirely and
whatever I've commanded then do as much
as you can out of it like
what in the prayers he has commanded us
to pray and he has commanded us to stand
up in the prayer in the follow of the
prayer in the na you may pray while
sitting down even if you are capable to
stand up but you'll only get have the
reward but in the thir prayer you cannot
sit down unless if you're not able to
stand
then do as much as you can out of it in
the Hadith somebody asked the prophet
Sall wasallam he he was sick and he
said even though it's a pillar to stand
up in the F
prayer but if you can then sit down and
if you can't pray while sitting down you
can pray while reclining the companion
uh had piles and he was complaining to
the prophet sallam it's a bit difficult
for him even to pray while sitting
down
so the Hadith simply highlights the
difference between two things between
what is mam what is
forbidden and what is
commanded what is the
difference when it is something Haram
then you must refrain away from it
completely and it's easy and
affordable when it is something
commanded then it is not necessarily
something that everyone can do including
fasting including doing certain uh Hajj
rights including the prayers itself
whether it's standing or sitting down or
reclining and so on and that's why wasam
say you have to do it rather he said you
should do
as much as you can out of it as much as
you can out of it but whenever it is
Haram then not a chance what about
alcohol wasallam cursed alcohol wine
beer all sorts of intoxicants and those
who drink and those who serve those who
sell those who buy it and those who
serves it so everyone who's involved in
it as he said sallallahu alaihi
wasallam if I ask you to stay away from
anything then you should refrain from it
completely the prohibition applies to
whether it is something
little or a lot I
mean Haram is Haram you don't say just a
little bit of Haram such as
bribery bribery is absolutely
forbidden
said so if somebody says I'm not taking
much I'm taking some peanuts there are
are big guys who take thousands or tens
of thousands in order to facilitate
people's business I only take some
peanuts whether it's a lot or a little
it's forbidden drinking
[Music]
if it is known that this food or this
drink is intoxicant and makes people
intoxicated and makes them high in any
form or shape so a small dose is as
Haram as having or drinking a whole
bottle a little is as Haram as drinking
a whole bottle we don't
say some people when they say uh you
know
I uh there is an opportunity to buy a
house with mortgage or a vehicle they
say she but the interest rate is very
very insignificant only
4% versus other Banks which charge 9% to
8% the percentage of the Haram will not
make it any lesser Haram it's all Haram
whether there is an interest of
.5% or 1% or 10% or 100% it's Haram
giving and charging so uh the amount or
the volume will not make any difference
with regards to what is uh
forbidden um another lesson that we
learn the a Prohibition usually comes in
the form do not do this or stay away
from that or keep off from this and that
and uh as I mentioned earlier it could
be a clearcut Haram or it could be M
Mak if it is something Haram such as
usually bribery drinking eating the swne
flesh or shaking hands with women or
hugging and kissing a woman who's not
lawful for you or staying alone with a
woman who's not lawful for you behind
closed doors all of that is absolutely
forbidden so if you do it the sin is
guaranteed and there is a reward if you
refrain from it so if somebody doesn't
drink and he has an access to drink he's
sitting in a business class or first
class and they offer him free wine so he
says no I don't drink why not I'm Muslim
it's Haram so refraining from drinking
is rewarded for refraining from being
with a client alone she's a woman you
don't say she's old or she's young
refrain why because it's again it's my
religion andam said Haram means it is
Haram while on the other hand what is or
disliked forbid but didn't put emphasis
or didn't mention a punishment such
as when the IM is given it is Mak to pop
your fingers likewise if you're praying
it is Mak to pop your finger interlock
your fingers this is not permissible
whether in the or in the prayers that's
called so if you avoid it you'll be
rewarded and if you do it you will not
bear such big sin or punishment it is
simply called dislike likewise when it
comes to the Commandment Salah
obligatory Zak obligatory but what about
praying D
recommended uh fasting Mondays and
Thursdays recommended so if you do what
is commended you will be
rewarded but if you skip it you will not
be punished for it I am somebody didn't
fast on as he missed the huge reward of
exciting the sins of the past year uh
the day of of exting the sins of the
past year and the year to come if he
didn't fast he's not blame worthy but he
missed such huge reward but if he does
it he will collect the promised reward
so it is the opposite of
if you do it you'll be
rewarded I'm doing so you will be
rewarded you will be rewarded for
fulfilling what Allah has commanded if
it is f and if it is recommended
likewise the major difference between
what is f and what is recommended in the
case of f if you don't do it you're
blame worthy and there is a severe
punishment but in the case of what is
recommended or must if you skip it
you're only deprived from the reward but
there is no uh
punishment also my dear
students
uh uh we should understand that asking
about matters of the dean is of two
types sometimes you need to ask in order
to learn your dean and it happened a lot
it happened a lot a man comes to the
prophet sallallah alaihi wasallam and
sayso Allah tell me what Allah has
commanded upon me or commanded me to do
he said do you pray five times a day you
fast this is a valid
question a man is asking the prophet
sallam about what is forbidden tell me
something that if I do it will take me
straight to heaven and will distant Me
From Hell Fire valid questions but the
second type which is blame worthy such
as asking about things which are in the
knowledge of the Unseen and Allah didn't
explain people used to come to the
prophet say who's my father who was my
real
Father Allah
said don't keep asking about things
which if Allah reveals to you it will
upset
you also on the day of Hajj a companion
when the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wasallam said oh people indeed Allah has
ordained Hajj upon you so you should
perform Hajj did he say every year no
one of the companions is insisting oh do
we have to do it every year do I have to
do it yearly do I have to do it annually
andam was upset and he said if I said
yes it would have been compulsory and
you wouldn't be able to do it leave me
alone don't keep asking questions as
long as they didn't I didn't suggest or
uh it's not something really ambiguous I
said perform Hajj that means once un
like fasting and I like Hajj and like uh
the prayers
obviously so there is a warning again is
disobeying and differing not only with
Prophet Muhammad but with all the
prophets and what is required for Muslim
is to be in compliance with the guidance
of prophet Muhammad Sall Al wasallam and
not to do like the Nations before the
Jews and the Christians who altered and
changed the religion and differed with
their prophets and kept asking so many
questions like the story of Al bak inah
bak and accordingly they were doomed and
they were cursed by Allah subhana wa
tala Allah has commanded us to
say whenever the Believers are invited
to hear the Judgment of Allah and his
messenger concerning any matter they
say we heard and we obeyed may Allah
subhana wa tala make us all obedient
servants to him and may Allah pardon us
and forgive us all our our sins a very
important interesting Hadith and until
