my dear students welcome to the 14th
episode in the third level of the Nobel
prophetic ah Hadith

today inshallah in the 14th session
we'll continue the second part of Hadith
number 12 which is the sound Hadith
narrated by the great
companion in which he said that the
messenger of Allah Sall alaih wasallam
once asked his
companions do you know what backbiting
is they said Allah and his messenger
know best then the messenger of Allah
peace be upon him said defin backbiting
he said May the greatest peace and
blessings be upon
him mentioning your brother in his
absence with something that he dislikes
so one of the companions said yo Allah
what if I'm only telling the truth the
messenger of Allah said if you saying
about him what is actually in him in his
absence this is typical backbiting if he
doesn't like it if you mention him with
something that he doesn't like even
though it is true that is
backbiting and if you dare to speak
about him or her in their absence or
something which is not true
then that is called bhan or slandering
and we learned how the prophet
sallallahu alaihi wasallam warned
against slandering and it is even
worse than and Allah the almighty warned
against that uh in Surah Al chapter
number 33 and now we would like to shed
some light on the of according to may
Allah be pleased with him the great
messor he said backbiting is absolutely
forbidden and there is a general
consensus on the prohibition of
backbiting no exception is made uh
except in certain conditions we will
learn about them uh shortly inshallah
there are six cases which is there is a
clear purpose why would the person speak
in a way that it will upset somebody in
his or her absence and what makes them
uh what makes them allow to speak this
way about them such as evaluating the
narrator of a Hadith or giving an advice
in jining what is good or forbidding
what is bad or complaining to a judge
and so on we'll learn that shortly
inshallah so this Hadith brothers and
sisters describes the reality
of which is speaking ill of a person in
his absence even if it is true IM may
Allah have mercy on him said it refers
to saying about a person something that
he dislikes whether it has to do with
his body creation or religious
commitment righteousness or worldly
Affairs his character or his manners his
wealth his father his child his spouse
uh his servant his ride his car the way
he moves the way uh whether he is
cheerful or not uh amazing
everything that reminds us with how when
once was talking about
s her cowi and she said to the prophet I
don't know why you like her so much
she's like this and she didn't utter a
word she pointed with her hand
indicating that she is kind of short and
safia was short that's not an insult
Allah created her this way so the
messenger of Allah peace be upon him was
really angry and he said yeah indeed you
have the word is such a terrible word
that if it is mixed with the water of
the sea it would pollute
it to that extent Subhan Allah but what
word did she utter she didn't utter word
it was just a aemotion she pointed with
her hand but it the meaning is
understood so even though she didn't say
something lie but that is forbidden to
the extent that the prophet sallallahu
alaihi wasallam said it would pollute
the water of the ocean if this word is
dropped in it so IM says that includes
saying something implicit as some
authors do such as when they say someone
who claims to have knowledge H you mean
that he's ignorant right some one of
those who are thought to be righteous
thought to be righteous said uh or other
phrases in which the audience know who
is meant by that it also includes their
saying when mentioning someone for
innocence may Allah Keep Us Safe and
Sound may Allah forgive us our sins may
Allah make us may Allah protect against
what he Afflicted others with you mean
to undermine others if the audience know
whom you're talking about to that extent
so Islam may Allah have him said some of
them may backbite in the form of
expressing astonishment such as um
saying I wonder about so and so why
doesn't he do such and such thing it's
all about the
intention we learn from this prophetic
guidance in this Hadith a lot of
valuable lessons number one it is
absolutely Haram
forbidden and uh it is a major sin to
try to discredit the honor of a Muslim
while backbiting him or her and it is
categorized as a major sin why because
it is forbidden in the book of Allah
verse number 12 chapter number 49 the
almighty Allah

says and do not backbite one another so
what makes it a m sin the following like
likening because Allah

said so he said don't you backbite one
another would one of you like to eat the
Flesh of his brother when he's dead
allahar you would detest it you would
hate it so fear Allah so look at the
Ayah Allah the almighty likened
backbiting
to the detested act the unbelievable
practice of trying to eat the Flesh of a
dead person after he died and who is
this dead person your own brother would
anyone do it no
way would you like it absolutely not so
backbiting is like that backbiting is
like going to your brother after he died
and biting on his
flesh terrible that's why it's a me sin
in
theith narrated
that wasam said when I was taken up to
heaven in the Journey of I passed by
some people who had nails of coer with
which they were scratching their faces
and their chests so I asked jel I said
my brother jel who are those people so
jel said they are the ones who used to
eat people's flesh and
cast as persans on their honor and
repetitions
wow those who are
backbiting
others on the day of judgment Allah will
give them nails of cuper and they keep
scratching and injuring their faces and
their chest you don't want to be among
them be careful
also in
another said uh to her when she said
that sopia is such and such meaning
she's short that if this word is mixed
with the water of the sea he would
pollute it we learned that shortly be
before and the the Hadith is collected
by Abu D and it is cariz as a sound even
though didn't utter a word she just
pointed with her hand and alh wasallam
Prophet Muhammad peace be upon Him
defined backbiting as mentioning
something about your brother in his
absence that he doesn't like to be
mentioned he doesn't approve so if it is
stayed in his presence then it's an
insult but if it is stayed in his
absence that is defined as
backbiting backbiting means saying
something about your brother that he
dislikes whether it has to do with his
Dean or D body or worldly matters or his
character his his physical appearance
you know examples of character flows
including you're saying that he is not
CH or uh he Chase he chases
women uh or he commits illicit
relationship examples of flaws in
religion and religious commitment such
as saying that he is or an inov an
innovator in his absence or this guy
deliberately skips praying in Jama or
this person usually doesn't pray F on
time and so on what is the purpose of
you saying that the degree of backbiting
varies depending on the outcome but
biting the
scholars is even worse than backbiting
Layman because people follow them and
learn from them trying to discredit
rightous Scholars is the worst because
you will end up hindering Layman from
learning from those people Subhan Allah
so if you find a drawback a flow an
error in your brother or in your
sister instead of Spreading the News and
back biting them why don't you give
them give them the prophet s Alam warned
against following the fals the flaws and
errors of others in order to expose them
he said whoever does so Allah will
expose his faults even if he's hiding in
the innermost part of his house and this
is a sound Hadith uh narrated collected
by Abu d may Allah have mercy on him be
careful so you will be treated the same
way this something that you got to keep
in mind it is permissible though to
backbite uh people of uh the people who
are criminals who are known of bragging
about their
sins the rebellious ones in order to
warn against them and warn against
dealing with them and warn against is
their evil doing andam words that he
doesn't like to be mentioned gives the
impression that if he doesn't like to be
mentioned with this then stay away from
that but if the person is Criminal and
he's bragging about his crimes if the
person is rebellious and he showing off
about his sins then talking about him in
order order to warn others against him
is not categorized as and now I would
like to share with you before we RAB it
up the cases in which it will not be
considered may Allah have mercy on him
listed six conditions that would allow a
person to get involved in Reba such as
uh filing a complain against an
oppressor or an unjust person or a
mistreatment that is done to you by
others so in the report in the police
report in the court report you're going
to say what happened what you have seen
what youve experienced is this Haram no
because now you know we're taking it
into the level of the court room
Judiciary System and so
on secondly to seek help in changing Al
or evil or bringing a sinner back into
the great path
Consulting talking to somebody about his
son or about her spouse in order to help
changing him putting him back uh on the
straight path if that is the intention
it is okay seeking
fatwa you
know she complained to the prophet she
wanted fatwa that her husband was cheap
my
he doesn't spend much so sometimes I end
up taking out of his pocket without his
knowledge is it Halal if she says is it
Halal to take to steal from your husband
without his knowledge the prophet would
have said no but she said what is the
reason because my husband is tight so
that's why the prophet said it's
permissible to take what is sufficient
for your basic need for you and your
child warning Muslims again is the evil
of others and Advising
them like
uh
somebody uh proposed to a girl people
don't know that this guy is a faker this
guy is a thief this guy is an alcoholic
person this guy doesn't pray he seems to
be nice in front of people you know the
reality would you be quiet no especially
if they ask you what do you know about
this person since he's your neighbor so
saying that well what I know about him
that he doesn't pray I've never seen him
fasting in Ramadan as a matter of fact I
saw him smok in Ramadan really yeah and
multiple times he will see drunk and
he's abusive oh thank you so much you
would provide what is sufficient for the
other party to make their decision based
on the facts that you're sharing with
them uh also as I mentioned earlier in
case that somebody is openly committing
the sins and bragging about it then
there is no for them finally
identification if a person is known by a
nickname based on a physical difference
such as being you
know you know or oneeyed person or deaf
or blind or course eyed all of that is
permissible uh remember uh brothers and
sisters it's all about the intention and
as the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wasallam has said none of you believe
truly believe uh until he loves for
others what he loves for himself may
Allah guide us to his best until next
