alhamdulillah
now when we dive in to learn about Hajj
usually the jurors talk about the
essentials the pillars of
Hajj if one of these pillars was left
out due to
ignorance due to
compulsion due to forgetfulness the
whole Hajj is invalid regardless of the
reason so these are pillars like a
pillar of a building if you remove one
pillar the building
collapses so what are these um four
pillars that we have to pay attention to
there are four number
one number two to be inaa or as they um
explain it to stand at the mount
arafa number three to off
off number four to
offer these are the four pillars of Haj
and we will come to explain them in
details
insh so first of
allam what
Isam
now usually people mix up Witham
which is what they wear for performing
or usually it's the white two the two
white
towels or shrouds that we wear on our
bodies the lower garment the isar and
the upper
garment this is
called however what we're talking here
about a pillar is a state
of where you move from one state to the
other with the intention of worshiping
Allah asael so in prayer for example I'm
not praying I'm talking to you I'm
moving I'm looking right left and
Center when I want to enter prayer I
stand facing the and I say
allahar so this this is for the
Salat and by offering the and by
standing facing the refraining from
talking from looking around from turning
away from the from exposing my from
eating or drinking in the likes I'm in
prayer likewise fasting I eat and drink
it's nighttime I could do everything I
want to do that is halal just before the
the break of
dawn I intend to fast
so now the moment the aan is called
anyone offering me something that breaks
the fast I
refrain likewise
with which is a
pillar I wash I go to the toilet to take
aul I apply my
deodorant I clip my nail I trim my
mustache I do whatever I
want that is prohibited for a to do I
even wear my towels the white uh isar
and the one that covers the upper body
anyone looks at me he says this guy is
in but I did not
formulate the intention The Firm
intention in my heart that now I am
totally in the state of
yet so I can still do whatever I want to
do despite the fact that I'm wearing
theam the moment I make the intention in
my heart that now I'm in the state ofam
that's it it's a switch that I turn on
with my heart that I become a the
prophet says indeed actions are
by the
intention so they're judg by intentions
what is my intention now I'm in the
state
ofam what I say is Sunnah known as when
I
say
or this is usually a Sunnah to pronounce
it but actually the intention is in the
heart if I say it without intention I'm
not Anam and if I make the intention in
my heart that I am in the state ofam
without without uttering it I am in the
state
of now when I'm in the state what's the
difference ah there is a huge
difference and this difference starts by
first of all the ritual has
begun secondly there are certain things
that I have to refrain
from and these are known as
known as things that are prohibited
while in the state ofam what are they
number
one the Judah usually say wearing sewn
garments wearing sewn garments this
phrase gave misconceptions to
Muslims so they thought that anything
that has threads is Haram which is not
true and we're talking about men now for
men they must not wear what the prophet
sallallahu alaihi wasallam prohibited
them from
wearing because a man asked the prophet
Alam what should the pilgrim wear in the
state ofam so he said he should not
wear this limits it instead of he saying
he should he can wear this and this and
this and this if someone asks you what
can a Muslim
eat and you start to list uh oranges uh
apples uh grapes bananas vegetables and
you list it's going to take you ages
instead you mention what is Haram which
is very limited so the prophet said he
should not wear number one a
Kam a kamis is a shirt anything that has
two sleeves that you put your arms in
and the likes of it t-shirts and
anything that you tuck in your
body or a turban so anything that you
put on your head a baseball cap a a
toppy a cap or this or a turban or
pants so anything that considered to be
worn and you put your feet in including
underwear or AOS and a buros usually is
something that the Moroccans wear where
it has something like a
hoodie or HS and this refers to Footwear
that come over the ankles whether shoes
socks and it covers the whole
foot and the prophet went on to say
except one who cannot find sandals or uh
uh to wear in which case he may
wears now there is no mentioning of
something that is sewn or
threaded therefore if a
person has a tear in his and he sews it
there's no problem if a person is
wearing a watch and it has a wristband
and it has stitches in it there's no
problem wearing a belt that has stitches
in it there is no problem at all and
this is what the
scholars um sometimes may not explain
because they think that it's by default
the people should know what we're
talking about and sometimes they uh do
not so people who do not find slippers
or sandals to wear what should they do
if they have no other choice but to wear
shoes they may wear shoes people who do
not find a waste
wrapper to wrap around their waist or
isar in this case they may wear trousers
but this is hypothetical because us
usually now everybody finds this even if
donated item number two that is
prohibited for a to wear is for a woman
a woman can wear whatever she wants her
ABA her outer garment whatever she wants
to wear is no problem she's prohibited
from
wearing the
nikab and the
gloves what is a nikab
some say it's the face Veil and this is
not
true is a veil that is placed on the
face with two holes or a full hole where
the eyes
can look
through this is nikab but if a woman
throws something on her face to cover it
there's no problem in that this is
highly
recommended and this is not nikab
anything that has an opening for the
eyes because the prophet saidat the
woman in should
not uh cover her face or wear gloves so
this is what is supposed to be done for
a woman
inam but this does not at all invite her
to uncover her face rather she may keep
her face open until nah men come as per
the Hadith of Asma and may Allah be
pleased with them said we performed with
the prophet and we used to unveil our
faces and whenever passer by came next
to us we used to cover our faces so not
wearing theik rather putting a layer or
two layers so that a woman can see but
at the same time cannot be recognized
and her Beauty would not be uh shared by
anyone else number
three prohibited as per the Hadith to
cover the head as we've mentioned
earlier however covering the head for
men is with something that sticks to the
Head such as a cap or what I'm wearing
on my head or a turban or a kofy
whatever is worn on the head
however if a person sits under the shade
under a tent carries a an
umbrella there is no problem in that
because the prophet sallallahu alaihi
alhi wasallam had a tent uh made of
camel uh hair set up for him in when he
performed Hajj number four to apply
perfumes
so wearing perfumes for a person inam
men or women is not permissible because
the prophet said do not wear Any Garment
that has been perfumed with saffron or
wor and these are type of perfumes that
used to be uh uh worn at the time of the
Prophet any type of perfumes or
fragrances is not permissible for
a person in the state ofam to
wear before entering the state ofam you
have no problem applying it on your body
so I'm at my home taking
my before entering the state of and I
apply my deodorant I spray my body with
fragrances or put lotions what no
problem it smells good when I put myam I
should not put anything on myam clothes
once I
say and I intend that I am in the state
of this is it I can't uh uh apply any uh
of that
perfume whatever remains from the scent
I applied
before couple hours 5 hours 6 hours
there's no problem in
that prohibition number five is removing
the Hair by shaving by uh cutting short
or clipping the
fingernails of your hands or your toes
because Allah says and do not shave your
heads until the
sacrificial uh animal or or the your
sacrifice has reach its place of
Slaughter so in the state of until the
day ofid this is when we Stone and we
sacrifice and we shave you cannot do any
of
that and this is a consensus of old
Scholars however sometimes I may have a
problem with one of my nails that is
hurting me and harming me or I have
problems in my hair that requires
shaving such as if I have a blow to my
head and I need stitching and the
doctors have to remove some of the hair
there's no problem in that but we have
to give the fidya which we will discuss
the experation which we will discuss
later on inshallah number
six intercourse sexual intercourse and
this if
done before a person does the
first
so we stood
inat if after standing inat and
before throwing the Pebbles and shaving
the head someone has intercourse with
his wife then the Hajj is invalidated on
the
Spot Not only that he's obliged to
complete the Hajj as if nothing had
happened he's obliged to slaughter a
camel as
experation and he's forced to come the
following year
and to make up for this Hajj which he
had invalidated number
seven
to masturbate or to have any type of
intimacy lesser than
intercourse so any type of uh kissing
touching hugging with desire all of this
uh does not invalidate the ha but it is
one of the prohibition ofam
number eight killing game animals and
hunting because Allah prohibited that he
said but forbidden to you is game from
the land as long as you are in the state
ofam game of the land which means I can
fish but I cannot kill anything that is
considered to be hunted or game of
course of course there is an exception
that the prophet said anything that's
harmful or assaulting you can be killed
to protect
yourself specifically he said that there
are things to be killed whether in the
permissible area or in the Haram area
such are the CWS rats scorpions kites
this which is a kind of a bird snakes
and also dogs with with rebies or
vicious dogs or any other vicious uh uh
carnivors that would May attack you or
cause uh harm to you number nine and
this is the uh uh final One Number Nine
is
proposing to a woman or getting married
conducting the um marriage contract or
accepting the proposal all of this is
prohibited in Islam because the prophet
saidat the pilgrim in should not get
married no one should give him his
daughter in marriage and he should not
propose for marriage so it's prohibited
for you even as an a father a guardian
to give the acceptance for the proposal
for him to propose to my daughter or for
a man to propose to a woman or to even
make the marriage contract all of this
is prohibited in
Islam of course in the state of
afterwards it's all kosher it's all good
