alhamdulillah as we talked previously
about the pillars of
Hajj now we speak about the obligatory
parts of Hajj what's the difference if
you abandon a pillar there is no Hajj
for you the whole Hajj is
cancelled but if you abandon one of the
mandatory obligatory parts of
Hajj this is something to be
compensated by slaughtering a sheep in
the area of Haram and giving it to the
poor but your Hajj is still valid
because the pillars are
valid whether you forget to do these
obligatory
acts by
mistake out of forgetfulness or
deliberately it has to be compensated
with a sheep being slaughtered in the
Holy shrines so what are these essential
parts of Hajj number one to enter the
state ofam from the
mikat and we spoke about this when we
talked about the five miks around the
Haram area if you pass it and you did
not assume the state ofam and then you
assume the state ofam you have to
slaughter sheep if you go back before
entering the state ofam and then you
assume your state ofam from the mikat
then you're fine and there's nothing
wrong in what you had done number two
to stay or remain in the area
ofat until the sun
sets so you have to combine
between the daytime and the evening time
so you have to stay stay inat the whole
day or part of it and then once the sun
sets you move
out but if you moved before Sunset you
have to slaughter a sheep what if I did
not go toat altogether except at night
then there is nothing for you to do
because you did not attend the daytime
in Arafat you only attended the
nighttime so you're exempt from
slaughtering a sheep number three to
spend or to stay overnight in
mif so after we move fromat
to and we
pray combined there and this is what
Allah mentioned in the Quran but when
you depart
fromat remember
Allah which is in and this is what the
prophet did
sallam and he said whoever
attend this prayer of ours meaning theer
and stood with us until we moved on that
is from mif and stood before that inat
by night or by day his Haj is complete
and he has completed his
rights number four to spend the night in
Mina during the nights of a Tash what
are the nights of Tash they are the
11th the day of is the 10th so the
nights of Tash are the three nights
afterwards 11th 12th and the 13th of the
because the
prophet spent the night there and he
gave permission for the Shepherds to the
those who cared for the uh the camels to
not spend the night in um Mina because
they had to attend for their
camels because of that because of what
the prophet Alam had done of granting
them this concession this meant that it
is
mandatory uh uh to spend the night in
Mina for pilgrims whoever is unable to
spend the night in Mina he came there is
no place no camps no area for him to
spend the night then he has to spend it
outside the uh outskirts of mina to the
best of his
ability otherwise Allah says fear Allah
to the best of your
ability the fifth obligation is stoning
of the Jamar
to Stone the pibbles of the jamarat and
this the time of stoning the
jamarat we know that there are three
areas to be
stoned the minor one the medium one and
the the last one and this is the closest
uh uh to
Mecca so how to do this
the grand one is to be thrown first on
the day of alone and we will come in the
description of Haj inshallah seven
pibbles and you say Allah abbar with
every
throw until you finish seven on the 11th
day and the 12th and the 13th you begin
with the minor one the smallab the small
and then you throw seven times and then
the medium one and then
theam and you end with it all three days
of the 11th 12th and the
13th now when we come to mention
throwing the
Pebbles first of all the size has to be
a
medium uh uh size you don't throw a big
rock and you don't throw something that
would not even be uh seen so
uh it has to be a smaller than a
hazelnut and larger than a p or a p the
small things or
um check p as they say as they call it
so something medium you hold it with
your three fingers and you say allahar
and you throw it you can pick it up
anywhere some people think that we have
to pick it up from mifa when we spend
the night there and they neglect
sleeping and they go and check for these
little uh pivs but this is not true you
can pick it up in mifa or Mina or
anywhere you cannot throw with cement or
mud because these are not considered to
be
pibbles and you should not
throw the
jamarat with other than pibbles what do
you mean some folks may go and
throw
um shoes they may uh throw bricks pieces
of wood and all of this accompanied by
swearing and cursing thinking that
they're actually physically hitting the
devil or Satan himself and this is not
the right way of doing it some people
aim at the pillar in the middle of the
pool and they think that they have to
hit the pillar and this is not true you
have to throw it so that it falls into
the pool itself you don't have to uh hit
the pillar uh
itself some folks May combine the whole
seven Pebbles and say
Allah seven times and throw them all at
once and this counts only as one you
have to throw each one uh
separately and you can
throw even if the sun
sets the ideal thing is to throw it
during the daytime after thean
of and until sunset but if it's too
crowded and it's always crowded then it
can extend to uh the night time because
the prophet Sall wasallam timed for us
the beginning but he did not time the
end of
it sometimes if a person is sick or
has a need for someone else to throw on
his behalf he may
authorize someone else to
um throw providing that you yourself
have a legitimate reason such as being
too old too fragile being a person a
woman who's pregnant or she has a child
that she's afraid for and the fear is
genuine and real in this case she can
authorize someone else someone who's
sick and is unable to go by himself he
can authorize someone
else and the one who is to be authorized
has to be himself performing Hajj I
can't randomly call one of the uh uh
police force or someone who's not
performing Hajj and I say you throw on
my behalf even if I'm sick no he has to
be a pilgrim
himself
and if I'm doubtful and this happens so
if I'm throwing and I don't know did I
throw seven or
six and if this is the
case then you should assume that you
have not
completed the seven and add one more and
Scholars say if a person forgets or
makes a mistake in one or two Pebbles
then he should give something in charity
this happens so many times after
throwing going back to your camp and you
remember Ya Allah did I throw all seven
I I feel that I did six maybe if this is
the case then there's no need to yeah um
be paranoid about about it if it's one
or two Pebbles that you're doubtful of
just give something in charity uh for
the poor people around the Haram area
and that would suffice inshallah the
sixth obligatory Act of Hajj is to shave
your head if you're a man or clip it
short and for women you just cut this
much which is almost an an inch of the
edges of your hair
because Allah asael says in the Quran
certainly
Allah has showed his messenger the
vision in truth you will surely enter
the Masjid Al Haram if Allah Wills in
safety with your head shaved and hair
shortened so this is a clear um evidence
that this is part of the rituals of Haj
and the prophet
himself said it three times oh Allah
have mercy
on those who shave their heads and the
people said what about those who cut
short and he repeated have mercy on
those who uh uh shave their heads and
they ask him again and he said it for
the third time and in the fourth time he
said and those who cut their hair uh
short so it's best to shave it but if
someone wants to um cut it short also
this is permissible the biggest mistake
that people do is that after or when
they want to get out of the state of
they grab a piece of their hair and they
just click it and that's it and that's
wrong shortening the hair is to trim it
from all over your head not to take a
strand and just cut it short because
this is does not do the job the seventh
uh pillar that is the seventh mandatory
Act of Hajj
is to
perform the farewell
ta and all of them who are performing
Hajj are supposed to do this because the
prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam um
ordered the
people Abdullah Abbas may Allah be
pleased with him and with his father
says the people were instructed and when
the companion says the people were
instructed this refers to
AI meaning he's relating it to the
prophet Alat wasam so he says that the
people were instructed that the last
thing they should do in meca is to go
and perform ta around the Kaa except
that this was waved for menstruating
women as we mentioned earlier for when
safia uh had her man the prophet told
heram to travel with back with them to
Medina because she had already performed
her
uh which is a pillar and this mandatory
act there is a con consession from the
Shar for those who are in their
postnatal bleeding or who are in their
Menses and they're Exempted from that
and Allah Knows
