alhamdulillah there are some defects
when found in the animal it would render
it un
acceptable to be
sacrificed with however there are other
defects that would make it not
recommended Mak disliked but it's
permissible to
sacrifice the defects that prevent and
prohibit us to sacrifice an animal were
mentioned in the previous
class the disliked and the
M defects that if found then the animal
would still be possible to use for
sacrifice but it is disliked are as
follows number one whatever was cut half
or more of the animals ears
or
horns because
this to the people who are buying it for
themselves or to use to feed their
guests would be something of a defect so
usually they would pick and choose the
best for their guests then Allah has the
highest example we should do the same or
even better for him subhanahu wa taala
the second one and the third and the
fourth and the fifth are all related to
slitting part of the ear whether from
the front whether from the back whether
from the width uh side wise or from the
lengthwise all of these are considered
to be defects but not something that
would render a sacrifice
invalid some of them would have ear uh
holdes in the ears not not for earrings
rather to identify and all of these cuts
and slits and forms of of defect are
caused usually by the owners so it's
like instead of branding their animals
they would have these marks on their
ears or on their horns so that it would
be identified
um the sixth is to have the whole horn
removed completely and again this is not
something that would prevent an animal
from grazing with the others but it
looks bad and one would not be honored
to sacrifice this and to give it
away uh the seventh is having lots of
its
sight the the the the lot of its sight
although the eyes are still there so it
looks okay but the
eyes may not function properly or may
not function at all but because on the
outer looks it's fine then it is fine
and having less than half of the tail
cut
off because again this is a defect
usually in the animal to have it more
than half that would render it not
possible to sacrifice but if less than
the half then it is fine if more than
the half the majority of Scholars would
not allow this to uh uh be
sacrificed what if the Animal by birth
by Nature does not have a tail this is
uh no problem and we can use that to
sacrifice
then we have what number nine having its
penis uh cut off and that is a defect
and this is different than being
cerated or um as it's used with some
animals
neutralized I think they call it um in
some hadiths the prophet did sacrifice
with such uh Rams and they say that this
is even better for the meat itself this
is different than when its uh uh penis
is cut
off and number 10 if some of the teeth
had
fallen so if it's lost some of the teeth
then this is disliked to be used but if
the teeth were never there by by birth
in the first place then there's no
problem in that mentioned before that
the prophet wasallam did the
slaughtering himself which means that
this is the best thing to do for a
person to do the slaughtering himself if
this is not possible or the person
doesn't know how to or he has a faint
heart a weak heart then there's no
problem
in authorizing someone else like a
butcher a professional person to do the
slaughtering on his behalf but it is
highly recommended that you attend it
that you see it and it is not
permissible to give the
butcher some of his fee in
return for slaughtering the
Sacrifice from what he has
sacrificed it's a trend a lot of the
people do this when they sacrifice their
RAM and the butcher goes ahead and cut
it off and pieces and skin it the skin
itself a lot of the people don't want it
so they throw it away
instead they bargain with the Butcher
and say okay your fee is x amount of
uh uh dollars or Euros or RS so we will
give you this in exchange for that part
of your fee and the the the the butcher
knows that he can sell it for more
because he has deals like this so he's
fine with that this is not permissible
because this is a sacrifice it should
all be given for the sake of
Allah there are conditions
for Halal Slaughter so we usually hear
this a lot this is the this is halal to
eat and consume others are not so what
are these conditions number
one it relates and deals with the person
doing the the the
slaughtering so we Muslims cannot eat
meat unless it was was
slaughtered by one of three a
Muslim a Jew or a Christian
person any
other person doing the slaughtering this
is dead meat we cannot eat it and we
cannot consume it and when it comes
to Islamic
sacrifice such as
Hadi or
or it has to be a Muslim so the
sacrifice of a Jew or a Christian on our
behalf is not valid according to the
most authentic
opinion the second condition is
that relates to the equipment itself so
how is the slaughtering going to take
place it can be slaughtered by anything
or any
uh object that is
sharp and that can Slaughter swiftly and
quickly with the exception
of tooth and
Nails what is a
tooth teeth and nails are totally
prohibited to be used because these were
used by the
abian in their primitive lands they used
to cut with their sharp uh nails and
maybe use the teeth of animals to
slaughter this is totally prohibited
because the prophet
saidat what sharp except teeth uh the
prophet s whatever causes the blood to
flow apart from teeth and Nails then eat
providing of course that we mention the
name of Allah which will come uh uh
after a while number
three that you have to get the two veins
in the neck they should be
cut and the best also to cut both
the esophagus and the
trachea but if you just cut the two
veins at the side of the neck that would
be
sufficient
insh finally the fourth condition is
that the person slaughtering must
mention the name of Allah he must say
bismah and if he
adds that's no problem because anything
that you do not mention the name of
Allah upon is not considered to be Halal
Allah says and do not eat of that upon
which the name of Allah has not been
mentioned for indeed it is a grave
Disobedience so this is the thing that
people must pay attention uh uh to when
should we Slaughter
the the timing of slaughtering the
begins after the
conclusion after the finish
of of theid prayer so we know that the
Imam comes out when the people are
waiting and then he starts with the
prayer not with
the after he finishes the prayer
the
begins however if the person
begins to slaughter after he prayed with
the Imam his Slaughter is accepted if he
does it before his slaughtering is just
for charity and it's not an that is
accepted so the beginning has to be
after the Imam finishes
his but the end of it it extends for the
day of the whole of it the first day of
Tash the 11th the 12th the 13th day of
Tash ends at Sunset once the sun sets
the time of is over as per thei
of who stated that the prophet Alat
wasam emphasized the fact that the
slaughtering should be be after the
conclusion of the prayer ofid and
whoever does does it before that then
his uh prayer would not
be
his I always mix up things with and the
prayer itself because they're
interlined offer your prayer to Allah
and offer the sacrifice by slaughtering
so offering the slaughtering before the
conclusion of the prayer would not make
it it's just charity meat offering it
after the Imam finishes his prayer even
if you do it before he concludes the
there is no problem in that and that
would be
