I start in the name of Allah, the
compassion of the merciful. All praise
is due to Allahawel and may the peace
and blessings of Allah be upon his
prophet Muhammad, his family, his
companions and his followers all until
the day of resurrection. Uh we are you
are welcome to uh this uh lesson from
the series of taps at level four for Zed
Academy and we are dealing today with
surah al
it's a surah revealed after the hijra of
the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam
where allahel says in the surah afterman
forch.
So we stop here. uh five ayas uh where
allahel says the meaning of which uh
those who disbelieved among the people
of scripture and the poly polytheists
were not to be uh parted from disbelief
until there came to them
clear evidence a messenger from Allah
reciting purified scriptures within
which are correct writings. Nor did
those who were given the scripture
become divided until after there had
come to them clear evidence and they
were not commanded except to worship
Allah being sincere to him in religion
inclining to truth and to establish
prayer and to give zaka and that is the
correct religion. So this is the first
part and then we'll continue with the
second part in the in the coming uh
lesson inshallah. Uh what has been
narrated concerning the surah? Albkari
al-Muslim narrated that Anisb Malik
said the messenger of Allah
wasallam said to obey
Allah has commanded me to recite to you
those who disbelieved among the people
of the scripture and the polytheist were
not.
meaning the beginning of this of the
surah
said did he mention me by name to you?
The prophetam said yes and wept. In
Musad Ahmed in in a report which was
classed as by Al
says it was said to obey did you rejoice
at that
and uh he said that is obey why should I
not rejoice when Allah says say in the
bounty of Allah and the and and his
mercy in that uh let them rejoice. It is
better than what they accumulate.
and he said.
So this shows the virtue of this ayah
because it was concerning this uh who
was who was a Jew but then he accepted
Islam because he the clear evidence
Muhammad came to to him and to the to
the Jews and uh he accepted and and many
of the people of the book did not
accept. Now starting with the meaning of
these uh ayas those who disbelieved
among the people of the scripture and
the polytheists. Now the people of the
of the uh scripture or the people of the
book are the Jews and the Christians uh
those two groups who claim that
Allahawel
had a son subhanala and he did not have
a son. Of course, the polytheists are
the worshippers of idols and fire
whether they were from among the Arabs
or non-Arabs.
Uh were not to be parted from disbelief
uh until there came to them clear
evidence.
That is um they would not give up and
abandoned their disbelief until there
came to them uh truth from their lord
or clear evidence refers to everything
that explains the truth. So it refers to
the glorious Quran and the prophet
Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam a
messenger from Allah reciting purified
scriptures. So this is Muhammad Alisat
wasam who recited uh the glorious Quran
to them which was written on pages that
are free of shik hypocrisy lies and
doubts that's what we call purified
it's free from all these uh terrible
things this is like the verse which
Allah says
it is recorded
in honored pages exalted and purified.
This is in
Allah continues saying subhanahu wa
ta'ala the meaning of which within which
u are correct uh writings these are
meaning sound things are written. Now
the verses uh um uh and rulings that are
written in it are just and sound
containing no error
meaning just and sound and right. Nor
did those who were given the scripture
become divided
after uh there had come to them uh clear
evidence
uh of course that is the people of the
scripture uh that were revealed
uh to them uh to the nations who who
came before us after Allah established
proof and evidence of them became
divided and differed. They did not
differ until a clear evidence came to
them and and verses from allahel. This
is like the verse uh uh in which Allah
says
and do not be like uh the ones who
become divided and differed after the
clear proofs had come to them. This is
in surah al.
So uh that is uh the uh wording of of
the glorious Quran. And they were not
commanded except uh to worship Allah
being sincere to him in religion and
inclining to truth.
So that is uh this is the meaning being
sincere to Allahel alone. Allah
commanded them to be to to to worship
him to to to to do righteous righteous
deeds to um uh to be sincere and to
follow the truth um and not to take uh
partners with him subhanahu wa ta'ala
and and to turn uh and and turning but
they they actually uh turned away from
uh uh they turned from everything to uh
like they turned from Islam from the
submission to allahel
to other things. They were not supposed
to do that because that's what they were
commanded to do is to turn from
everything except Islam. So they turned
from Islam to other things. This is like
the verse in which Allahel says,
"And we sent not before you any
messenger except that we reveal to him
that there is no god worthy of worship
except me. So worship me." This is in
surah al
thus allahel commanded to them uh uh
Allah's command to them was only that
they should worship him alone to the
exclusion of all other objects of
worship and deities. They did not listen
and they did not uh do that. Uh that's
that's actually the me the messenger the
message of all messengers uh and
prophets
and to establish prayer of course the
best of of and the noblest of all the
actions and and the pillars of Islam
after
uh the word of is uh to affirm the
affirming the oneness of allahel is to
establish prayer
prayer in all uh uh in the best of
manner uh consistently doing its
essential parts, obligatory parts and
sunnas. Meaning
all of these things should be uh should
be done because
uh and give zak
which is the charity given from the uh
rich to the poor. those who uh do have
uh wealth to uh give zaka to those who
deserve it and those who u to whom it's
due. So that was that was to give zakah
and that is the correct religion. This
is what uh the sound religion of the
sound nation or the sound um
now coming to the uh activities of this
uh of these groups of ay what is the
difference between the peoples the
people of the scripture and the polit we
already explained that and we said the
people uh of the book or the scripture
are the uh Christians and the Jews and
they both claimed that Allahawel had a
son. So the Jews saidnah
or the son of Allah and the Christians
said that Jesus or Isa is the son of
Allahawel
while the uh polytheists or al- mushriun
said they they were worshiping idols
they were worshiping um uh fire and and
and that's why uh they are combining
they are they are making shik with Allah
of uh things that they were not supposed
to to do. Explain the meaning of the
following words. Uh
we already know that meaning to be
parted from. Uh we already talked about
meaning sound and free from error.
Meaning inclining to the truth.
is is actually turning away from uh the
worship of other than Allah subhanaa
tala to the worship of Allah subhanahu
wa tala discuss the importance of
sincerity to Allah alone in Islamic
teachings of course it's very very
essential to have sincerity because if
you don't have sincerity then Allah will
not accept your your good deeds
[Music]
to this is the hadith
that if anyone does a a good deed and he
uh he does it uh associating others with
allahel Allah will abandon him and
abandon his his deed Allah is not going
to accept it so it's very very essential
because um
having sincerity is very very essential
and important and deeds will not be good
and will not be accepted unless they are
sincerely for Allah's sake subhana wa
tala and of course uh done according to
the um following to following the
prophetatam
this brings us to the uh end of our
lesson for today until I see you
inshallah with the continuation of the
surah in the coming lesson I leave you
with Allah's care and protection
