Alhamdulillah.
In the name of Allah, the compassion of
the merciful. All praise is due to Allah
the Almighty. And may the peace and
blessings of Allah be upon his prophet
Muhammad, his family, his companions,
and all of his followers until the day
of reckoning. I welcome you to this new
episode of the subject of Tapsi level
four at Zed Academy. And we are dealing
today in this lesson with surah alatah.
Normally the name of the surah comes
from inside the surah itself. Normally
that is why it's called because it's
first because Allah swore by we recite
the the the ver the surah first
afterman.
For
Allahel says the meaning of which by the
racers panting and the producers of
sparks when striking and raiding at dawn
stirring up thereby
clouds of dust making their way thereby
into the ranks of the enemy. Indeed,
mankind to his Lord is ungrateful,
and indeed he is to that a witness, and
indeed he is in love of wealth intense.
But does he not know
that when he when the contents of the
graves are scattered and what is hidden
in people's hearts is brought to light.
Verily their Lord on that day will be
fully aware of them and their deeds.
These are ays 1 to 11 from Aliat. Coming
to the commentary, Allahel swore by
theat
the racers and he these are the horses
when they are made to run in the cause
of allahel and they are panting and
panting refers to the sound produced by
horses um in the chest when they run
that is that is panting.
This is called
and the producers of sparks when
striking.
So the horses that produce the sparks
when their hoofs strike the rocks
because they are running so fast. And
you could imagine how that happens.
raiding at dawn. What is meant is they
attack the enemy with cavalry in Allah's
cause at the time of dawn very early in
the day just as the the dawn breaks they
make their own uh attack on the enemy.
This is the best time to launch a raid
because the enemy will be either sleepy
or heedless. not aware or not expecting
any attack from uh their own rivalry.
Now the messenger sallallahu alaihi
wasallam used to launch uh raids at
dawn. he would listen uh out for the aan
meaning that if the people there are
Muslims he would withhold from attacking
them or making uh
but if he would not hear the adan he
would keep on going and uh launching the
raid against these people who were not
Muslims now stirring up uh Thereby
clouds of dust that is stirring up
clouds of dust with their hooves as they
run fast and of course look
the the hooves may spark uh produce
sparks and also at the same time they
will produce also clouds of dust. So
they are running back and forth in
different types of earth that they run
on making their way into the u uh
thereby into the midst of the of the
enemy uh with the horses they would make
their way into the middle of the ranks
of the enemy. That's that's so clear.
And then after the oath that allahel
made
by by these uh things that he created
and and also to show the importance of
these horses in the battlefield for in
the cause of allahel. Allah says indeed
mankind to his lord is ungrateful.
This is like what is attested. In other
words, man denies the blessings of his
Lord is ungrateful for them. And indeed,
he is to this uh to that a witness. He
understands he himself is a witness to
the fact that he denies the blessings
and is ungrateful for them.
And indeed he is uh in love of wealth
intense. See that's the nature of the
human being. They are always uh after
wealth
here is translated as wealth not
necessarily good but rather wealth money
and and and and the like. And that is uh
he his eagerness to acquire wealth and
uh his stinginess to keep that and
spending it is is very very intense. But
of course, Allah reminds man of uh the
end is but does he not know that when
the contents of the graves are scattered
because after even regardless of the the
time they spend in life they will die
and then they will be uh buried in the
graves and then they'll be brought back
to accountability.
So the graves contain the dead and it
will bring them forth into uh onto the
surface of earth and what is hidden in
people's hearts brought to light. Now
Allah knows exactly the intentions and
what was hidden in people because in
this life we only deal with uh you know
what is apparent but uh in in in the
hereafter uh whatever people were
concealing it will be brought up and
whatever they were harboring in their
hearts of intentions is brought forth
and um made apparent. Verily their lord
on that day will be fully aware of them
and their deeds. Of course allahel knows
in this life as well as in the
hereafter. But then of course allahel
knows what will happen to them and he
will disclose this to people in front of
everyone they and to them they will they
will see this and that he knows
everything. subhanahu wa ta'ala and he
will uh reququit them for it. Uh coming
to what we learn from these uh from this
surah uh first allahel swears by
anything of his own creation subhanahu
wa ta'ala he swears by horses when they
are uh uh nighting and kicking up dust
and their hoofs are striking sparks from
the rocks. Here he says subhanahu wa
ta'ala by the racers panting elsewhere
he swears by the life of Muhammad
when he says
by your life of Muhammad indeed they
were in their intoxication wandering
blindly.
So allahel swears by the life of
Muhammad wasam and by horses and by the
by the day of judgment by other things
and there are many other examples as we
can see in the glorious Quran. Number
two there's a difference between
ingratitude and gratitude because we
said
so that is what we call in Arabic.
So a person might be shak or jah. Um the
difference between ingratitude and
gratitude. Ingratitude refers to one
incident of mistreatment
makes a person forget all the kindnesses
made to him. So a lot of kindness would
be for forgot um when one mistreatment
is done. Gratitude is the opposite. A
shuk refers to when one incident of
kindness uh uh makes a person forget a
lot of mistreatment. So it is the
opposite. Look at this. But normally we
remember only the mistreatment and not
remember the uh the kindness that is
made to us. Number three in the verse
and what is hidden in people's hearts is
brought to light. Allahel states that
when matter is um what matters is uh is
that in what is in people's hearts not
necessarily how they look uh but rather
what is inside their hearts as he said
subhanahu wa ta'ala another verse
that day when secrets will be put on
trial
that is the secrets uh of people's
hearts will be disclosed.
That is because in this world people are
to be dealt with on the basis of what
they appear to be but in the hereafter
they'll be dealt with what was inside
their hearts and uh hence uh we must pay
attention to our intentions to what is
inside our hearts. Coming to the
activities of this lesson. Uh number
one, draw a line between each word in
the column A and column B. You can see
that first. What is
the sound of a horse when a horse makes
it uh uh makes it uh uh when when it
runs, that's when a horse pants, that's
that's panting there. And al- Mury. What
is al- Mury? Mury that which strikes
sparks sparks that's this is alat
what is an is we call in Arabic al-
kubar the dust all right and then canude
meaning which is the opposite of
is
or ungrateful
and then uh what is what is the meaning
of
Bath is brought forth. So when it's
dispersed and uh opened and then what is
inside of it will be brought forth and
be seen. Now what is the difference
between aloud and alanud and we already
explained that this in this lesson and I
think by now you should have you should
know the answer. Uh that brings us to
the end of our lesson for today. We'll
be seeing you inshallah in the coming
lesson. Until then, I leave you with
Allah's care and protection.
