Continuing
with the diseases of the heart as part
of Islamic education level four and
after talking about the importance of
the subject and uh the things to be
avoided and that we have to learn how to
protect our hearts from these diseases.
What are some of these diseases of the
heart? One of which and one of the
important ones is the disease of al and
is forgetfulness is heedlessness.
And what that really means is when the
person is not aware of something
extremely important and therefore he
doesn't pay attention to it. You know
it's like someone standing by the
railroad track and a train is coming and
it's going to hit him but he is just
busy thinking about something else. He's
not aware of the danger that is come is
about to destroy his life. So this is
what especially with the entire life
that we live in. We are created to
worship Allahhana alone and what's
awaiting and what's waiting for us after
this life which is a very short life.
It's either the everlasting ja or the
everlasting hire. So how can a person be
heedless and not paying attention to
these matters and to live the life as if
we're created just to have fun and to
enjoy this counted days or years and
then after that a person dies. So this
is a disease in the heart and Allahh
says in many verses in the Quran one of
which is
the reckoning of the people is coming
nearer and nearer and people are in in
forgetfulness and heedlessness is
turning away from it. As you see how
life is and how the entertainment for
the people parties and and enjoying
enjoying themselves in sinful acts and
turning away from Allah subhana wa
ta'ala ignoring their obligations their
iman their salah their you know
indulging into sins forgetfulness we ask
Allahh to protect us so some you when
you talk about the types of these
forgetfulness
when you look at the text in the Quran
and the sunnah of the prophetatam
It's you know basically on two of two
types. One which is a valid one. It's a
recommended one. It's a good thing. How
can be good if a person is overlooking
the sins? Doesn't really care about it
too much. And this is by the mercy of
Allahh. It's a great favor from Allah
subhana wa tala. And Allah subhana ta
called the believing women. He gave them
this characteristics.
those who slander the chased believing
women
that means they're forgetful and the
heedless meaning they're not aware they
do not know the they do not know the
these evil crimes of zena fornication
and dealing with strange men and having
relationships outside the fold of
marriage they they're not aware of these
things this is not something that is in
them. So those who slander them and
accuse them of
committing adultery, those who do such a
thing,
they are cursed in this life and in the
hereafter and they have a major and a
great punishment for them. So as you see
here and this is one of the great
characteristics of women in Islam that
they're not aware of all of these evil
actions as a result of being mixed with
uh strange men and the like of this. So
this is something that is a goodl. But
then the condemned one is the one that a
person is heedless away from the
obedience of Allah and the of Allah
subhana wa ta'ala and having the
consciousness of the hereafter and the
and the reckoning and the recompense and
this is definitely from the things that
destroys the heart. This destroys the
heart and this is how a person has to
make take the means to purify his heart
and to cure himself. And Allah subhana
wa ta'ala in many verses in the Quran
saying to the prophet
that make remembrance of your Lord in
yourself with fear with devotion with
humbness and not to raise your voice in
the morning and in the evening and do
not be among those who are those who are
in forgetfulness.
And do not obey those who have in their
hearts.
You find someone is in state of
forgetfulness from the obedience of
Allahh do not obey such a person that
follows his desire and his affairs is is
just loose. So and Allah subhana t said
about the disbelievers
they only know the apparent things of
this worldly life and they are when it
comes to the hereafter instead of and
forgetful. So this is something to be
warned against when it comes to the
condemned one which is the
that is for you know forbidden when it
comes to the obedience of Allah the of
Allah and so on. You can look at it from
three different perspectives. The first
one uh is something that happens to
everyone which is a normal thing just an
an immediate
for a moment for a situation that a
person is in not something that is well
established in one's life you know and
this is when you're for example during
the day a person you know moment of
weakness he's not you know having this
consciousness of of certain things so he
slipped away you know for a look that he
sees for something. So this is one of
the types of that the person has to be
aware of and if it happens he
immediately repents to Allah subhana wa
ta'ala and they turn away from it. But
then the second type is the repeated
one. Something that is repeated and it's
been uh leading the person for it to to
to lead him to the third type of so the
one that is repeated where a person
commits a sin and then he commits the
the sin the sin again and keep on
committing it and one sin to the other.
Sometimes he repents to Allah subhana t
sometimes he doesn't and whenever
they're being reminded sometimes they
are reminded and sometimes they ignore
it. Their life is like this going back
and forth and then a person either he
would repent to Allah subhana ta or this
can lead him to the third type of which
is the complete one and the person
of course the kufur they have the p the
the ultimate turning away completely
from Allah subhana wa ta'ala or if a
person stays in the state the state of
sin and he does not repent to Allah
subhana wa ta'ala and that lead him to
more and more sins he's in danger of
course and if he dies in that state dies
as a Muslim he's a Muslim alhamdulillah
does not take him outside the fold of
Islam but also the fear that this can
lead to what is worse that a person can
lead them to be among the disbelievers
and those meaning the disbelievers that
are in complete so how can someone
appreciate some of the things that
they're upon or uh listen to what they
say or things of that nature how can you
listen to someone that is blind to give
you directions to a place that you want
to go to for example. So uh this is
something to be aware of and to be
warned against and that's why when we
look into the the punishment uh of the
and how to cure ourselves this is
something that would makes us uh having
this exaltation in our hearts to these
matters. We have to you know in physical
diseases people talk about it you know
if it's a simple cold maybe you might
you know overlook it you know but if
it's something major something that is
people don't have a means of cure to it
or they think that this destructive and
people will take really serious
precautions to protect themselves from
and this is the case with all of the
diseases done by the heart. So we'll
