The prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam
among the things that he loved were
certain places.
So among the cities he loved Mecca the
most. Ibn Abbas may Allah be pleased
with him said when the prophet
sallallahu alaihi wasallam used to see
Mecca remember Mecca reflect upon Mecca
he used to say what a good city you are
and how dear you are to me were it not
that my people expelled me from you I
would not have lived anywhere else also
the prophetat wasam used to say in other
hadiths, you are the best land of
Allahawel, the most beloved land of
Allahawel to Allah subhanahu waaala. So
the prophet reiterated and highlighted
this fact and this is why the prophet
sallallahu alaihi wasallam
indicated how important this city is due
to
the Kaa and the alam being in it.
The prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam
told us that a prayer in alsund,000
prayers elsewhere. And this is
mind-blowing.
Imagine if you stay one day in Mecca and
you offer five prayers, five daily
prayers in the haram. This is equivalent
to 500,000
to half a million prayers elsewhere. So
this type of investment, the money you
pay to stay there and to offer prayers
is definitely one of the best
investments you could ever do. And the
prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam
showed and expressed and he never hid
his love to Mecca. Mecca that is known
as
known as
aladmin
[Music]
all of these different names belong to
Mecca itself
and from these hadith
and others the vast majority of scholars
concluded that Mecca is the most uh uh
beloved and the best spot on earth
and this is what they have concluded
with the exception of course to Imam
Malik who thinks otherwise that Medina
is better than Mecca which is totally
not true. Now
some narrate a fabricated hadith that
the prophet when migrating from Mecca to
Medina said, "Oh Allah, they have
expelled me from the most beloved
country to your to you. So uh uh make me
inhabit and live in the most beloved
country to you." So this is a fabricated
hadith. The prophet saying, "Oh Allah,
they have expelled me from the most
beloved country to me, so make me live
in the most beloved country to you."
This is a fabricated hadith. Among the
countries or locations the prophet loved
definitely comes
second in line is Medina. Mother Aisha
says, "We came to Medina when it was
diseaseren."
So this was known to all Arabs. When
people came to Medina, they would get
sick and they would get a fever due to
the change of weather. So among those
of the companions who suffered from such
a disease, Abu Bakr, Bil and
so when the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wasallam witnessed that his companions
were suffering, he supplicated to
Allahel because such suffering, such
illnesses may
deter people from coming to Medina. So
the prophet invoked Allah, made dua to
Allah and he said, "Oh Allah, make
Medina dear to us as you made Mecca dear
to us or even dearer, make it
healthy and bless its and mud." And
these are measurements of uh uh means of
measurement by size
and mood
uh for us make it blessed. So whenever
we buy something or sell something and
we weigh it or we measure it, put some
balaka in it and transfer its fever to
ala.
And that is one of the prophecies.
Subhan Allah. Al to those who know
and and those who remember when we
studied in the
it is the for the people coming from a
sham which was not Muslim at the time.
And the prophet made it a mikat for the
people coming from Egypt from uh uh the
the lavent countries. And subhan Allah,
Ala at the time was inhabited by idol
worshippers.
Nowadays, if you go to Ala, you would
find it deserted.
Nobody lives there because the
inhabitants of Ala died and abandoned
that town. So now people perform their
from a city
a little bit uh uh prior or before which
is known as
so the prophet asked allahel
to make Medina dear to the Muslims
hearts and subhan allah till date
whenever we go to Medina you can feel
the warmth of iman there's something
that pulls you to Medina different than
what pulls you to Mecca. The prophet as
a sign of his love to Medina, whenever
he approached it and saw it from a
distance, he would make his mount go
faster as if he's eager to go there. As
narrated by Albkari in the
annus, may Allah be pleased with him
said that when the prophet sallallahu
alaihi wasallam returned from a journey,
when he saw the walls of Medina, the
outskirts of Medina, he would make his
mount go faster because of his love to
that city. And some scholars like Iban
Hajar and others uh um concluded from
such actions that the love of your
homeland is something that's natural and
it's even prescribed and this we may be
to differ. The prophet loved the Medina
for what it meant to Islam. He loved
Mecca because it was his birthplace and
because it what it meant to Islam as
well, but there was no nationalism or
anything of the likes.
Also, it was known that the prophet
sallallaihi wasallam loved Mount.
And this m might sound a bit strange.
How do you love a mountain? Well,
Abu Huade, may Allah be pleased with
him, said when we were back from the
expedition of Tuk,
we came
until we saw the outskirts of Medina. So
the prophet called it, this is
and that is one of the other names of
Medina.
So Medina
all of these are names of Medina but be
careful of calling Medina
because Yth is the name of Medina
pre-Islamic era. So the disbelievers and
the idol worshippers would call it
Medina. We Muslims do not call it
Medina. And when the prophet sallall
alaihi wasallam saw the mount of
he said this is a mountain that loves us
and we love it. And one would say, how
could this be possible when a mountain
that is something that has no soul in it
that would have such emotions
imi
said that this is what the prophet said
and we take it for his face value.
Allahawel
has placed in it such a feeling of
recognition
and emotions like when allahel says and
there are some of them that is the
stones that fall down for fear of Allah.
So even the stones have fear of Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala.
The pulpit which a prophet used to give
hudba
on which was a trunk of a palm tree or
an old tree. When the prophet left it to
give the from a pulpit made by a woman
from the ansar the companions heard it
weeping
a trunk of a tree.
the stones.
They heard it at some times doing
and these are miraculous things that
Allah made the companions witness to
identify such a fact. Also, one of the
rocks fled away with the garments of
prophet MS as in the uh um
of the last verses of surah chapter 33.
The prophet also mentioned to us that he
knows a specific rock in Mecca. Whenever
he passed by it, it used to give him
salam before he was a messenger or
before he became a messenger of
Allahawel.
The forleg of the poisoned sheep spoke
to him and told him that I am poisoned.
All of these things to us are not
normal. But to the prophetatam
and to those who believe would accept it
for what it is. Allahel says in the
Quran and there's not a thing except
that it exalts Allah by his praise. But
you do not understand.
You cannot comprehend their way of
exalting. Everything in this universe
exalts Allahawel
and praises Allah subhanahu waala.
The prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam
also loved specific times. So definitely
one of the most beloved times of the
prophetam was the last third of the
night where he used to invoke Allah and
ask Allah for forgiveness and offer
night prayer. This is one of the blessed
times of the day. Also he would set out
on a campaign
whenever he was on an expedition on a
Thursday as Kaib Malik narrates that the
prophet sallallaihi wasallam set off on
a Thursday when he went for the campaign
or the expedition of Tabuk and he used
to love to to be uh uh to set out out on
a Thursday
and this as the scholars say for a
number of reasons. Number one,
Thursday is a blessed day because we
know that the deeds are uh taken up to
Allahawel.
So setting off on such a day is a
blessed form of worship. So he would
like to have it taken to Allahel on that
particular day also.
Thursday is the perfect or the highest
number day of the week. So we have
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and
all these are related to the four
numbers 1 2 3 4 Thursday comes from
which is the fifth day. So it is the
most complete and the highest number of
the week. The third interpretation is
that the prophet used to
take a good tidings, a good uh um
feeling, a good vibe from names. And al
kamis in Arabic has another meaning
which is the army because the army was
composed of five parts. So they say oh
al kamis is coming. The army is coming.
So he related this to that and to him
that was a good sign to set off on a
Thursday so that Allah would protect his
soldiers.
The prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam
of course loved months of the year such
as the month of Shaan and he said that
this is a month between a sacred month
that is Rajab and the blessed month of
Ramadan Shaman in between a lot of
people neglect it. So I love to fast it
as mother Aisha used to tell us that the
prophet used to fast a lot of that. Of
course along the months that the prophet
loved was the month of Muharam
and he said that the best fasting after
Ramadan is the month of Muharam and he
used to fast a lot of it.
