If we enter the house of the prophetat
wasallam and look at his wardrobe
and the things that he used to do do on
daily basis.
We find that among the garments
the prophet loved the most
what is known as alam.
In Arabic nowadays we called al kamis a
shirt
but actually al kamish is what has two
sleeves
and a neck where you enter your head
from mother
says may Allah be pleased with her that
the prophet sallallaihi wasallam's most
beloved garment to himself was al kam
and he loved al kam more than he loved
and the cloak and the uh waist wrapper
because
it concealed the body more and it was
easier to get into and out of. You don't
need to tie it and be certain that it
won't won't be untied
among the colors. It's a given that the
that the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wasallam used to love wearing the white.
So the color white is one of if not the
best color unlike some sects who love
the green and make it a sign of them.
Others who make it black. Yes, the
prophet used to wear sometimes green
turbans or black turbons and the likes,
but white is what he recommended to his
followers in his ummah when he said,
"Wear white garments for they are pure
and better and shroud your dead in
them." Until date, this is what we do.
We shroud the deceased before burial in
white garments.
However,
personally speaking, white is not
recommended for women
when they go out because it can be a bit
transparent. You can see the clothes
worn underneath and it is well known
fact that women since the time of the
prophetam used to wear dark outer
garment and black was the prominent uh
uh color at the time.
Among the things that the prophet
wasallam loved from this life
were perfumes.
Anna Malik may Allah be pleased with him
said the prophet of Allah wasallam said
in this world women perfume
have been made dear to me. Women and
perfume meaning these are worldly
matters.
So some people would like food, some
people would like expensive jewelry or
living in mansions. To the prophetam
the worldly matters that meant most to
him were women and that's why he got
married and he was compassionate with
his wives
which shows what kind of a human being
he was. me. Uh, peace and blessings be
upon him, the perfect human being.
And he loved perfumed.
Perfumes were beloved to him. And he
says, "And my delight and comfort are in
prayers." So the prayer are something
that is out of this world, but it
connects you with Allah.
And it was a known fact that the prophet
sallallaihi wasallam had a bottle where
he would place his uh uh perfumes in.
And it was one of his characteristics
sallallahu alaihi wasallam that he had a
pleasant smell, a pleasant fragrance
that was natural.
So even when people shook hands with
him, they would say, "We found nothing
softer than his hand and no smell better
than his fragrance sallallahu alaihi
wasallam." And he always used to go out
of his way to have his scent, his
fragrance
smelling perfect.
Why? He justified this by saying I meet
the angels of Allahawel and I sit with
other Muslims so I have no other option
than to be in the perfect form. And this
is why we Muslims
think highly of
self-hygiene
and having a beautiful fragrance and
scent coming out of our bodies. And this
is a given. It's a well-known fact that
Muslims are all the time or most of the
time known to have a good scent or a
good smell to them. And we do pay money
to buy perfumes so that when we go to
the masjid, when we meet other Muslims,
it is pleasant to find a good scent and
fragrance coming out of our clothes and
bodies. Our prophetat wasallam was known
for such pleasant smell, fragrance,
odor,
scent.
So whenever he came or left people would
know if you walk in the streets of
Medina and yeah the prophet walked from
here you can find the smell of musk and
you can identify this among the things
that the prophet loved
was good omens and to be positive and
optimistic.
Abu Hur said that the prophet sallallahu
alaihi wasallam liked good omens and
optimism and he disliked bad omens and
pessimism.
What is
what is
what is to believe in good omens?
Believing in good omens is believing in
any sign, any word, any gesture that
something positive is going to happen.
Why? Because this indicates that you're
thinking positively of Allah. So if
someone is sick in the family
and you hear someone saying or calling
his friend
And is a name of a man but it means
healthy.
So when you hear the name you feel
optimistic and inshallah my sick
relative will get well. If you lost an
item and you hear someone calling
yawajit
or you read a statement on the wall that
has the
word waj or waj to mean find. So you
feel optimistic that inshallah I will
see it and I'll get my things back. Anus
narrates that the prophet whenever he
went on a campaign or on a travel and he
heard someone calling the other yashid
which is a name of a person well-known
name of of Arabs but it means the guided
one or
the successful one the prophet sallall
alaihi wasallam would feel happy because
of hearing such names
So this is what
believing a good omens
entail
to think positively of Allahawel
and the opposite of that of course is to
be pessimistic and to believe in
superstitions which is not permissible
in Islam.
Using the right side compared to the
left
is a trend in Islam. But we often use
this with good things not with bad
things. So the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wasallam used to love to start with the
right hand side in almost everything in
his drinking in his eating in wearing
new clothes when he gives things away
and when he receives and takes things.
So when he enters the masjid he enters
with his right foot. When he puts on his
sandals he puts with his right foot.
when he starts evolution he begins with
his right limbs and when he sleeps he
sleeps on his right side. So this was
the trend that he loved to start and
begin whether it's combing his hair or
wearing his clothes or purifying himself
in woodoo. He would love to start with
the right hand side in everything to the
best of his ability. Now this doesn't
mean if you don't then you're sinful.
No, you can skip that sometimes. You can
ignore that sometimes. But the trend is
that you try your level best to begin
with the right hand side to the best of
your your ability. Now having said that
remember bad things we do it with our
left hand side. So when we clean
impurities
after urinating or defecating we use our
left hand. When we enter the toilet we
use our left foot and the likes
also. Uh this is something that a lot of
the people seem to neglect and we see
Muslims eating with their left hand
imitating the westerners.
So they you hold the fork with the left,
the knife with the right and they
consume with the left hand. And this is
totally prohibited as we've indicated
this in prior classes. for
