And may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon his prophet Muhammad, his followers, his companions, and all of his followers until the day of resurrection with along with his families. Now coming to this uh new episode of uh the subject of taps level four at Z Academy. I welcome you and we are dealing this time with surah surah which is a meccan surah revealed before the hijra of the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam in the surah allahel says afterman So these are the uh ay number 1 to8 of where allahel says the meaning of which competition and worldly increase uh divertly diverts you until you visit the graves. No, you are going to know then. No, you are going to know. No, if you only knew what knowledge of certainty, you will surely see the hellfire. Then you will surely see it with the eyes of certainty. Then you will surely asked you be asked about that day or you'll be asked that day about pleasure. So these are eight ay of now coming to what has been narrated about the surah. Um the Muslim in his book narrated um from that his father said I came to the messenger of Allah when he was reciting competition and worldly increase diverts you he said the son of Adam says my wealth my wealth He said, "And do you have anything of your wealth, oh son of Adam, except what you uh ate and consumed, what you wore and wore out and what you gave in charity and sent on ahead." This is uh the translation of the hadith So uh actually this is going what is going to help you on the day of judgment uh is what you put forward uh for the for the second life or whatever you consumed and already um used in this life but not the treasures that you gave. That's why allahel is saying so you're busy actually and this made you heedless. Uh competition and worldly increase diverts you. You're distracted by love of this world and its pleasures um and adorement um and by competition in uh accumulating wealth, children, status in showing pride in your tribe from seeking the pursuing of the here of the hereafter. This is exactly the point is that people are heedless of the hereafter and busy with this life until you visit the graves. That is you get carried away with love of this worldly gain and being uh uh preoccupied with that until the death comes you. Then you'll be buried and then you'll be uh ending up in the grave and uh uh you become one of its occupants. That's why he said you visit until you visit the graves. No, that's that's a rebuke, a word of rebuke to them. You are going to know. Um this is the reason for this rebuke is uh to deter them from competing uh in worldly gain and pointing out to them that they will come to know the consequence of that on the day of resurrection. This stems stern warning to them. Uh then allahel repeats again that uh rebuke by saying then no you are going to know this is one warning after another is because of the uh enormity of the matter and um making sure that whatever you're looking to uh increase and have more and to earn more and to keep more of this worldly gain actually it's going to be coming to an end and you'll be going into the graves and then death will befall uh you know no you are if you only knew with knowledge of certainty that is if you knew uh for sure you will surely see the hellfire meaning that uh you knew for sure while you are still in this world you would be able to see hell in your mind. So you have to envision, you have to uh imagine the terrors of the day of resurrection and you'll see uh uh how how terrible that that day will be. Then allahel repeats this warning again. Uh then you will surely see it with the eyes of certainty. Now after you you imagine it in this life, you will see it surely um on the day of resurrection with your own eyes as allahel uh says this is in where Allah says and the wicked will see the fire and will be certain that there are to fall therein and they will not find from it a way elsewhere. Meaning that they're going to fall in it for sure because it's in front of their own eyes. So that's a warning and it it refers to uh uh everything that they uh were trying to escape but then they will see it in reality on the day of judgment. Then you will surely be asked about um that day about pleasure. meaning that on the day of judgment you'll be held accountable even for things that you uh you had as a pleasure that refers to all worldly pleasure the health the security the provision everything that Allah gave you in this life actually you'll be asked whether you showed uh gratitude for the blessings that Allah bestowed uh upon you subhanahu wa'ta'ala uh the uh there's a hadith in this in this regard where it was narrated by Abu they said the messenger of Allah wasam said the first pleasure a person will be asked about on the day of resurrection will be uh when it is said to him did we not make your body healthy and was your thirst not quenched with cold water. I mean these are very two taken for granted pleasures which is health in the body and finding cold water to enjoy when drinking. Subhan Allah. You know, this is the first thing that a person will be asked about on the day of judgment. And and you could go ahead and have a long list of all the pleasures that are given to the human being on the day of judgment. Subhan Allah. What is meant by alzak? The life in the grave is a passing through the stage of the eternal abode. So alzak or the grave is not the end. Actually it is only a a passing stage. It's just only um a step on the way u where a person will be buried for some time and then they will be transferred to the second life where they will live forever either in paradise or hellfire may Allah forbid. Uh that's why uh allahel says until you visit the graves. It's just like coming uh when you when you visit meaning uh actually you're not going to stay there. It's just like a visit. It was narrated that when of the Bedwins heard the reciting saying competition in worldly increase diverts you until you visit the graves. He said by Allah the visitor is not a resident. by Allah we will surely be resurrected. So he understood immediately that he is only there as a visitor and not a resident or permanent resident and then we'll be resurrected afterwards. And that's why it is wrong to think that uh to express this when when they when they say in Arabic for example in gone to his final resting place. Actually this expression is wrong and not right because the grave is not the final resting place. uh the grave is only the first stage of the hereafter and it's not the last. The last is either paradise or hellfire. Number two, both the believers and the disbelievers will be asked about the pleasure and blessings in life. As for a believer actually he will be asked a question uh to remind them of the blessings and the pleasures of that allahel bestowed upon them so they would be thankful and uh they will have more of pleasures in the uh in in the coming life in in paradise however uh as for the because Allah was so generous with them but as for the non-believer actually it's their uh it's u it will be a question by way of rebuke and to make them feel guilty. So the question will be asked to both the believer and the believer. However, the situation of the two would be different. That's why uh uh we have the result and the requ quit of what a person did in this life. Coming to activities list the three types of competing and worldly gain with which people are preoccupied nowadays. Think of what what do you think? You think that for example of course wealth people are looking for money and wealth and and gain and and so on. Uh so that's that's number number one probably fame where people would like to have their names known and they have uh uh they are so famous uh in in uh in the minds of people and I think is is like look and health. They want to look good. They want to be healthy. They want to be well. Uh of course these are some of the pleasures um and and things that people compete to find to have in this life. list of the three things that we learn from the surah. Well, uh actually uh there are three things that we can learn. We can learn that the uh grave is a passing stage as we already talked about. We said that everything will be uh uh person will be asked about all the pleasures in life. Of course, he will be held accountable in the situation. For the believer, it's going to be a reminder of the generosity and kindness of Allah to them in this life as well as in the hereafter. And for the disbeliever, it's going to be like a rebuke and uh to have him feel guilty. And then number three, everyone will be uh will see uh with his own eyes um you know uh the people of of hellfire and the people of paradise and uh the people of of uh uh evil and people who did bad in this life will see uh jannam and will see the um hellfire in in front of their eyes uh clearly with certainty. What will be uh what u what may be uh understood from the fact that um uh burial and the grave is described as a visit. Of course, it's a visit because it's it's very very short. It's very short and um and it's not going to be lasting. It's only a stage passing passing by as the Bedwin said. Uh it's surely we're going to be resurrected. Any visitor is not is not a resident. Is the accumulation of worldly gain uh blamesworthy? We said no. Uh to accumulate worldly gain is to to spend it in the in the path of Allah. Just like we used to have uh merchants and we used to have uh people who are who were rich at the time of the uh prophetat wasam. those who supported the armies of uh of Islam and they were so much generous in charity. So yes, we can we can have have wealth and we can have uh worldly gain. However, we spend it in the way of Allah. We spend it kindly and and rightly and zaka and and other ways of of spending in the cause of allahel. And of course it should not be something that is haram and we should we should not use it in something that is prohibited for us. Okay, I think we came uh to the end of our lesson for today. Until I see you inshallah in the coming episode and lesson I leave you with Allah's care and protectionalamlaykum. form [Music] Who's that? for [Music] speech. [Music]
