Alhamdulillah.
My dear students, welcome to the third
session in the fourth level in the
fourth semester of the prophetic noble
Hadith. Today inshallah we'll study
hadith number two because the previous
two sessions we studied hadith number
one of
this hadith is narrated by a very famous
companion Abu may Allah be pleased with
him. He narrated that the messenger of
Allah peace be upon him said religion is
easy and no one goes to extreme
religious matters but he will be
overwhelmed.
to aim to do what is right and try your
best and be of good cheer. Seek help by
worshiping in the morning, in the
mornings and afternoons and during the
last hours of the night. This hadith is
collected by Imam Bkari. It's a highly
profound hadith. There is another
narration in which the messenger of
Allah, may Allah's peace and blessings
be upon him said, "Be moderate. be
moderate and you will get there. This
hadith is one of the most important a
hadith. My dear students, let's begin
with the narrator of the hadith whom we
spoke about before that he narrated the
largest number of a hadith from the
prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam over
5,000 hadith yet
he accepted Islam towards the end of
life of prophet Muhammad sallall.aii
alaihi wasallam and uh yet he narrated
so many hadith. He had a great memory
due to the blessings of the supplication
of prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi
wasallam who invoked Allah to make him
retain whatever he hears and does not
forget. So he recorded so many hadith
and he shared that with us. So we
benefited a great deal from Abu
Abu
was appointed by
to be the governor of
independ which is
today and he was also the governor of
Medina for a few years during the
may Allah be pleased with Abuah
who died on the year 59 after the
migration of the prophet sallallahu
alaihi wasallam. So he lived after the
prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam for
almost
five decades to benefit the um with his
great wealth of knowledge.
When the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wasallam says
[Music]
religion is easy which religion we're
talking about our religion in
Islam and whoever will go to extremes in
the religion by overdoing something or
by neglecting something will perish will
be overwhelmed.
So the almighty Allah
who said about himself
knows our capacity,
knows what we can afford. And he said
in Bakar, Allah does not ask anyone, any
soul to do anything beyond its capacity.
So aim to do what is right. How? By
adhering to what is right. Following
strictly the guidance of the Quran. the
sunnah of prophet Muhammad sallallahu
alaihi wasallam without going too
extreme without being negligent
and try your best.
What is the meaning of
if you tried shooting before in the past
it used to be archery and archery is a
fine art even even as of today. So
archer you aim to hit the target in the
heart in the middle with your arrow.
That's called tdeid aiming.
Likewise nowadays with the rifle, with a
gun, with the machine gun, you're aiming
at the middle of the target, the heart
of the target. What if you don't hit the
middle of the circle or the target?
Well, still within, you know, close
range. So you still hit the target if it
is not right in the middle. You tried
but it didn't go far away. That is
right. And if you don't get it right,
you still get it so close. Subhan Allah.
Very amazing. Um
speech of the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wasallam especially when he say
be of good cheer. That is how we should
hope for our word from the almighty
Allah for anything that we do even if it
is little and that will encourage us to
be persistent and connant in doing what
is good because we're anticipating the
promised reward from the almighty Allah
and seek help.
Now we need some help because the iman
increases and decreases. So sometimes
you feel like you know you want to fast
every other day, you want to fast
Mondays and Thursdays and sometimes you
feel like you know you don't want to do
anything. The iman is going low. He said
seek help. Take advantage of what helps
you to persist in worship by choosing
the right time when you have the proper
energy to do so.
When the prophet sallallah.aihi wasallam
said
and he mentioned that uh
Seek help in what?
Which is to travel early morning with
the daybreak
afternoon when the sun moves away from
its mer and is the last part of the
night. The messenger of Allah sallallahu
alaihi wasallam is addressing people who
travel a lot. They didn't have trains
and planes. They didn't have shade. They
would be on the back of the camels. They
would be on the back of their horse. So,
they would choose the best times to
cover as much distance as possible.
Let's say that somebody's traveling from
Mecca to Medina or from Mecca to Hashem.
Do you think that they used to be on the
back of their camels and horses 24/7
until they arrive? Of course not. No
ride would even bear that the excessive
heat. So the best time is to travel
early morning at Fedra. You have a nice
couple hours where the breeze is good,
is not really hot, there is not much of
sun and then they have to camp
somewhere, hide because of the excessive
heat of the sun and the sun rays which
could be burning in the middle of the
desert and then after the sun moves away
from its meridian close to assuron
it's a good time until sunset then we
rest. then also last part of the night.
So the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wasallam is utilizing what they were
used to do whenever traveling to bring a
closer meaning to their understanding
that choose the right time when you have
the good energy and when you're ready to
take advantage of your energy to do
worship. It's about building an asset.
Building an asset of good deeds and that
will be achieved through taking
advantage of the right time in order to
do as many good deeds as possible while
rejoicing while anticipating the reward
from the almighty Allah as he promised.
Mashallah. Our religion is easy brothers
and sisters because if you compare it to
other Sharia before and how the people
the followers of prophet Moses the
followers of prophet Jesus the followers
of whatever prophet they changed their
shar and they made it very difficult for
themselves. In the almighty Allah said
to prophet Moses peace be upon him that
I shall grant my repentance and my
mercy.
I shall grant it to whom? To those who
are righteous. To those who follow the
prophet, the messenger, the illiterate.
Among the traits in the prophecy that
there will be a prophet by the end of
time whose name is Muhammad sallallahu
alaihi wasallam.
They will find his name mentioned in
both the Torah and among his faiths that
he will make things easy for them and he
will remove these shackles that they put
on themselves in the religion.
So the hadith is indicative of a number
of important matters. Number one,
generally speaking, aden Islam and its
teachings are very easy and to make
things easy and affordable for even an
average person. Number two, extreme
hardship may be a cause of things being
made easier through concessions granted
on the basis of Islamic teachings.
You're traveling, you get to shorten the
prayers. You're sick, you get to skip
fasting, and you can make it up after
Ramadan. Or if you cannot fast at all,
you give the fya. You're not able to
stand up, sit down in the prayer and so
on. Number three, the hadith encourages
people to do righteous deeds and give
glad tidings of reward. Nothing is for
free. Allah will double and even
multiply their word. Number four, it
offers general advice on how to take the
gentle route that leads to Allah the
Almighty.
seek help by worshiping in the morning
and the afternoons and during the last
hours of the night. Those are three
times as I mentioned earlier of which
people used to take advantage when on a
journey. So whether the journey were
short or long as they found it easy to
travel at these times similarly whenever
you're worshiping Allah subhana wa
ta'ala take advantage of the times when
you feel fresh and capable to worship.
take advantage of times of seasons of
goodness. Ramadan, the 10th of Muaram,
the day of the season alum
and so on. We learn from this hadith
brothers and sisters that number one
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala stated in
Bakar verse number 185 when he was
describing fasting and what should we do
and who should fast and who may skip
fasting. It says you read
Allah intends for you to give you ease.
Allah wants to make things easy for you.
Does not want to make things difficult
for you. And that's why the messenger of
Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam said
make things easy and do not make them
hard. Also the prophet sallallah.aihi
wasallam in this hadith confirmed that
he was never given the choice between
two things but he always chose what is
easier. That's in the hadith which is
narrated by
as long as both choices are halal. So he
has a choice to do this or to do that.
The easiest one in worship or the
easiest one in any matter halal he would
choose the easier oneam.
The fact that the Islamic rulings and
teachings are easy is simply
uh uh something that you find in every
hook in every ruling of the Sharia.
There is no doubt about it. But this
doesn't mean that the individual should
try to free themselves or himself or
herself from adhering to the teachings
of the dean. Who decides what to do and
what not to do? Allah and his messenger
sallallahu alaihi wasallam. So can a
woman say
no need to wear hijab. So she thinks
that because religion is easy, you
become liberal, you don't pray, you
don't fast, you don't read Quran. No, it
is Allah who decides what is easy and
what is permissible. Meanwhile,
difficulty and hardship, brothers and
sisters, are aliens to the teachings of
our religion. Unlike the previous and
constitutions and how people made it
difficult for themselves, going extremes
means going beyond the bounds of
moderation.
And Sai wasallam said, "Oh people, you
should commit yourself only to do what
you're able to do of righteous deeds.
For Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala does not
get tired, does not get bored of give
word until you get tired." The most
beloved of deeds to Allah are those
which are done persistently even if they
are little hadith when he was asked what
is the best deed ever he said one which
is persistent even if it is a little so
make things easy for yourselves in order
to resume your journey to Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala and arrive safely to
success may Allah grant us all success
