Alhamdulillah.
Continuing with Islamic creed level four
and this class inshall will be about the
proper way the the sunnah way of
visiting the graves as part of talking
about the or the extremism that some
people they fell into that trap that
would lead them to worship the graves or
worship human beings and and having
these forms of hulu or extremism that is
not according to the way of the
prophetatam
and thean has his ways in these types of
things and visiting the graves is part
of our religion that means there is text
about it there is Quran verses there's a
hadith of the prophetatam
so we have to follow we don't initiate
things we follow the way of the
prophetatam
so the famous hadith of the prophetatam
when he said
visit the graves
because indeed it reminds you of death
so why would you visit at the grave for
your own benefit so that you would
remember death so that we do not get
deceived by this worldly life. It's
amazing how we know that this life is
limited. We know that we won't live on
the face of earth forever and it's still
deceiving for us. We think that we're
going to live on the face of earth
forever. So one of the ways that a
person has to do to himself is to
constantly remind oneself of the end of
things, the hereafter. And the prophetat
wasam he said
frequently mentioned the destroyer of
desires which is death. So one of the
ways to remember death which is the
sunnah of the prophetam
is to visit to visit the graves. So this
is a great benefit that a person would
get and when a person visit the graves
also is to make dua to Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala for the deceased to ask Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala for the forgiveness
of the deceased and to ask Allah subhana
ta to have mercy upon them and they
benefit from that. So you visit the
grave to benefit the those who are dead
not for your own benefit from the
deceased but you benefit them by your
dua to Allah subhana wa tala for them
and this is the way of the prophetatam
so when the hadith of the prophetat
wasam from the hadith of
she said that jiam he came to the
messenger sallallahu alaihi wasallam and
he said to him that your lord is
commanding you to go to the people of
alak
the grave of which is right next to the
masjid of the prophet
so that you would ask Allahh for their
forgiveness. So
she said what do I say oh messenger of
Allah the prophet said to say
that means you giving salam to them
peace be upon those who are this is
their dwellings and you remind yourself
this is their place This is their
dwellings. This is they would stay in
there as long as Allahh will till the
day of judgment from the believers and
the Muslim. And may Allah subhana wa
ta'ala have mercy upon those who are
there and those who are still not there
yet. And we inshallah by the will of
Allah will join you. Allah knows best
when. And if it's 100 years, it's still
not too long of a time. So this is how
the reminder and this is how the dua is
to be established. And Allah subhana wa
ta'ala taught us this through the way of
the prophetatam.
So therefore as a result of what we
said. So you visit the grave for your
own sake to remember death and to
remember the hereafter and to soften the
hearts with these types of visitations.
And the second thing is to be of a
benefit uh for the deceased by making
dua to Allah subhana tala for them and
to say the prophetam would say. So as a
result of that you would find that
visiting the graves is of two
categories. one which is that means it's
a valid it's a religious one according
to the dean of Allah uh by making salam
to them and remembering death and
following the way the prophetat and with
the condition which is an important
condition not to travel specially for
that you know because or to travel this
is something that we should avoid you
don't travel to visit the grave of a
righteous man for example you know the
only three mass that we are commanded to
or recommended for us to travel seeking
rewards from Allah subhana wa ta'ala
with that traveling is haramk the mjid
of the prophetat
and aljah in Jerusalem.
So this is the permissible way of
visiting the graves. The other category
which is the zara of the visiting the
graves of the shiki with shik being
committed associating partners with
Allah innovations in the dean and there
are many different things that we can
classify in this like for example those
who would ask the deceased the deceased
their needs and this is like the the
worshippers of the idols exactly there's
no difference asking from the dead
whatever they ask them for which is All
making dua to other than Allah subhana
wa tala or asking Allah subhana tala by
the deceased by saying oh Allah by the
status of so and so give me this and
give me that this is all in the same
category and those who would visit
thinking that the dua or making dua by
these spots is accepted by Allahhana or
it's better than making dua in the
masjid for example this is innovations
in the religion and it can lead the
person to to the level of a shik. But
this third category of things is a
person is going there to the grave for
example and he thinks that the dua to
Allah not the dua to the deceased not
making was from the disease just making
dua to Allah subhana t sincerely he
thinks that there's some virtue to do
that in in the graveyard this is from
the innovations of the dean uh and
therefore you would you would find some
of the the things that is from the
actions of extreme actions in the in the
in the graves of the prophetat forbade
from such a thing. Praying for example
in the graveyard and the prophetat he
said let do not sit on the graves and
and do not face them in your salah. You
do not make salah there. And heatam he
said
when he commanded the people to make
optional salah in their homes he said do
not make your homes as graveyard because
the graveyard is not permissible to pray
there.
You do not pray to a grave or on top of
a a grave. So this is something that is
of course not permissible. And one of
the things also that is not permissible
is to light the graves and to make it
give it attention. Again as the hadith
of the prophetat
that the prophet wasallam cursed the
frequent visits or vis visitors of the
grave from among the women. Those who
would wail and things like this and
those who would have on top of the
graves massaged places of worship and
having lights or candles or these types
of things by the graves. This is all
something that is forbidden. It's not
permissible. Imitating the ways of the
disbelievers.
uh taken the graves as a place of
festivity or keep on returning to it on
a specific day once a year once a month
you know and people they invented these
types of things then the yearly the so
and so died one year ago so they go
visit the grave after 40 days of his
death they go visit the grave after one
year every year you know the the yearly
day where that person died they would go
visit the grave this is something that
is forbidden and And the prophetat wasam
he said
do not make my my grave and that means
uh like a festivity place meaning that
you keep on coming to it from that means
you keep on coming to it in a frequent
way and make to the prophetat
and so on that reaches the prophetat
wherever wherever you are. So even
though the grave of the prophetat wasam
is the best grave ever on the face of
earth, the prophetat wasam forbade the
people from making it a place of
festivity and so on. And there's no
prophet other than the prophetatam that
his grave is known for sure on the face
of earth. None of them as they say
except the grave of the prophet prophet
Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam. And
he's the best man ever walked on the
face of earth. And he forbade
from people to do any form of shik or
festivities or anything of that nature
by the grave of the prophetat
is to Allah. What make this the perfect
the h is that the the worship this dean
of Allah subhana wa tala is about
worshiping Allah subhana wa ta'ala alone
following the way the prophetat was also
one of the things that are forbidden is
to build the graves to make them high
and the
prophetat said to him
any statue that you would destroy it any
grave that is above the ground that you
make it leveled to the ground. And this
is as you see in the Muslim world today,
how many of the graves that are building
on top of it and are built with marble,
with bricks, with cement and all kinds
of things on top of it. And some of it
is with domes. And you would pass by a
graveyard and you would find, oh, what
is who's that grave belong to? because
it looks so beautiful because they build
so much things on it versus someone else
that his grave is like a poor guy. Is
that you know something to do with
matters of dean? You know this is all
haram. This is all not permissible in
which all of the graves of all of the
Muslims should be the same. There's no
difference between one grave or the
other. And this is the way of the
prophetatam.
And this is the subject of building on
it or putting again cement on it and
things of that nature putting pictures
or images or building mass. And this is
another subject where the prophetat was
when
they described to the prophetat what
they saw in with the churches where they
have images in it and so on. The
prophetat was he said
these people if there was a righteous
man and he dies
they would build the masjid on top of
his grave
and they would take these images
and they put it there.
These are the most evil people to Allah
subhana tala in the day of and this is
the statements of the prophetatam
forbidding the ummah from this and you
would find still people refusing but to
follow the ways of the worst people and
the most evil people on the face of
earth by building the massagid on the
righteous ones and that's why it's not
permissible to pray in these massid
whatsoever and the prophetat was in the
last days before he returned to Allah
subhana t he would
When the prophet wasallam was dying, he
would say this. May Allah subhana wa
tala his curses upon the Jews and the
Christians. Why
they took the graves of their prophets
as places of worship forbidding the
ummah from this and if he has not said
that they would have done raised and and
made the grave of the prophetat shown to
everyone but they didn't because the
prophetat was said these types of
things. So and many verses that talks
about this matter and that's why also
one of the forbidden things is to travel
to travel to these places except the
three majam
the masjid of the prophetat the masjid
al in Jerusalem other than that is not
permissible to travel thinking that
there's some virtue in going to places
we have in many different places of the
world where people make it trips to the
graveyards of certain righteous people
imm.
They would make trips to the graves of
the righteous ones. This is not
permissible. If it happened that you are
in the graveyard, you visit the graves
of the Muslim and you make dua to Allah
subhana tala for them and to the masjid
of the prophetat. We travel to the
masjid of the prophetat and a person if
he's there he goes give salam to the
prophetat and then Abu Bakr and then
Omar as the prophetatam taught us. So
we'll stop here inshallah with the
subject and we continue with more
inshall with this matters of
for
me to
push.
