In the name of Allah, the compassion,
the merciful, all praise is due to
Allah. And may the peace and blessings
of Allah be upon his prophet Muhammad,
his family, his companions, and his
followers all until the day of
reckoning. I welcome you to this new
episode and lesson from the series of
Taps level four at Zed Academy. And
today we are having surah
and this is revealed before alra. So
it's a mecca surah in this allahawel
after.
So these are six ayas or verses from the
glorious Quran in which Allah says say
oh disbelievers I do not worship what
you worship and you do not worship what
I worship. I have never woripped what
you worship and you do not worship what
I worship for you is your religion and
for me is my religion. The reasons for
revelation is that some of Quraysh
including some heads of them like Albuya
ali
Abu Jah and others of their like said,
"Oh Muhammad, follow our religion and we
will follow your religion. worship our
gods for one year and we worship your
god for one year and uh the prophetam
said
Allah forbid that we should associate
anything with him then this surah was
revealed disavowing
uh their gods so that's
the virtues of the surah and acting in
accordance with it um it was narrated
That
said,
the prophet sallall.aii Wasam
said, "Recite, oh you, oh you
disbelievers, then uh res sleep when you
have finished it, for it is a disavow of
mean.
It was narrated that
said this surah is equivalent to one
quarter of the Quran. So it's equal to
one quarter of the Quran like
is equal to a third of the Quran in
reward and in of course u meaning and
substance. Now the virtues of the surah
as we said in Muslim it is narrated that
from
that the messenger of Allah sallallahu
alaihi wasallam used to recite
um
say Allah
say he is Allah who is one
in the two following.
So this is the importance of surah
in Muslim. It is narrated from Abu Hur
that the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wasallam recited these two suras in the
two sunnah raas of meaning before you
pray two raas of sunnah and in one you
read
and you in the second one you read it
was narrated from
that the messenger of Allah sallallahu
alaihi wasallam recited the um two
sunnah
raas before and the two sunnas
after
20 odd times or between 10 and 20 times
say oh disbelievers
and say he is Allah who is one.
So these two suras were recited in both
be the sunnah of which is which is
before the prayer of and the sunnah of
which uh comes after the prayer of
uh and he's he repeated that at least
more than 10 times or more than 20
times. So that is the uh uh hadith in
the uh uh
acting in according to the surah. Now
coming to the commentary say oh
disbelievers this includes every
disbeliever on the face of earth even if
those to whom it was initially addressed
uh were the disbelievers of Quraysh.
Yes, it was addressed to the people of
Kesh, but it's to all disbelievers at
all times. You must address every
disbeliever in your heart or verbally if
he's present in order to disavow him uh
and what he worship. If the context is
is viable, then you read uh this and you
should show them the disavow of shik
from what they worship. If they worship
uh anyone other than Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala, we should we have noted uh that
they in their ignorance called the
messenger of Allaham to worship their
idols. Yes, they did. They they said
worship your idols for one year. We
worship your uh god for one year. Then
Allah revealed the surah in which he
instructed the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wasallam to disavow the religion
completely as he said subhanahu wa
ta'ala I do not worship what you worship
that is at present namely the idols and
rivals that you have the Muslims in
every era must disavow their manner
uh uh everything in this manner
everything that is worshiped beside
Allah
whether it is well like a saint, a grave
or anything else. So no worship of
anything or anyone except Allahel. And
you should disavow yourself from the
worship of any other object or being.
How great is the need for those who call
people to Islam today to disavow
everything is worship beside Allah. Yes.
Very important. and and every every
person who calls people to Islam should
concentrate on the the concept of the uh
or the faith in allahel and to worship
him alone and not to associate partners
with him not to worship anything other
than Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and you
do not worship what I worship namely
Allah alone subhana tala so you do not
worship Allah my my my my lord my god
and I do not worship your god gods who
are idols and uh rivals. I do not do
that. I have never worshiped what you
worship. That is in the past I never
worshiped what you worshiped. What is
meant I was never known to do that. So
alhamdulillah Allah saved the prophetam
from worshiping their gods even before
he was sent as a messenger. And you do
not worship what I worship. That is
repeated again. So to leave no room for
any doubt or suspicion
that um uh it might be come to the minds
of person or thinking that yes I might
reconcile I might uh try to accommodate
your religion as you accommodate my
religion. There is no way that you can
do that. uh you know there should be a
separation between this and that. For
you is your religion namely shik and the
requ quit that will result from it is
yours and for me is my religion namely
Islam and the reward that will result
from it is mine. So there is no way that
uh this will be uh you know going to be
reconciled. So uh this is the concept of
which means that the Muslim takes all
his concepts, values, beliefs and laws
that regulate the conduct from allahel
to the exclusion of all others and all
aspects of life. It's a complete im and
Islam and oneness ored
of allahel. Um what we learn from these
ays is first disavowel of worship of
anything other than allahel.
Thus it is obligatory to disavow the
religion of the Jews, the Christians,
the pol polytheists um in every place in
every time without any uh sync criticism
half solutions or meeting halfway. No no
way no way that you can you can meet
with with shik in any way any time. Uh
secondly to is one path and shik is a
different path. So they do not meet they
do not come and meet together. There's
no reconciliation. There is no way to
get um uh and shik all together or can
be can be combined or we can accept they
can accept each other. Either you are
inhed or you are in shik or you're ined
or you're in nohed. That is the point.
And thirdly, it is obligatory to be
sincere to allahel alone and not worship
anyone or anything except Allah. This is
the importance of u of for the Muslim.
That is that is very very very
important. All right. I think we need to
um look for our place and uh I think
we're coming towards the activities of
uh of our lesson uh for today. Let's see
where we have the lesson there.

All right. Now coming to the activities.
quote uh the prophetic uh hadith
concerning the following the virtue of
we talked about hadith
where the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wasallam said recite
then sleep at the end of it because it
is a disavow of so that's hadith by
the reasons for this revelation we
already talked about the reason which is
some people from Quraysh uh asked the
prophet wasallam to um worship their god
for one year and and gods for one year
and he they will worship his god for one
year and they meet halfway and he said
allahel revealed the surah to say no and
and the prophet said to them
Allah forbid that we worship we
associate anyone with him subhanahala
acting in accordance with it. of course
acting in accordance with it. Uh the
prophetam used to to recite it in the
sunnah of and uh the sunnah of and even
a twoas in the two rakas of after you
make you make the sunnah behind the
station of Ibraim Ibraim if possible or
other in in any other place and then
haram then it is possible for you it's
sunnah to read uh this these two suras
And then what do we learn from the
repetition of the verse and you do not
worship what I worship is to leave no
room for doubt or suspicion in this
matter at all. Allah repeats that it's
not possible that you worship other than
Allah and these people will not worship
their gods and worship Allah at the same
time. It's not possible. Either you
worship Allah or you worship something
else. So it hased
and Islam and submission to Allah has to
be for him alone and not for anything or
anyone else. All right, that brings us
to the end of our lesson for today.
