Alhamdulillah.
The prophet
can become angry
but his rejoicing
was far greater than his anger.
In the s we notice that the prophet
sallall alaihi wasallam
rejoiced and was happy in a number of
incidents because this is human nature
and the most a person is rejoiced with
is the blessings of allahel
and this is the grace of Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala when Allah allows them allows
us to rejoice
Because such a rejoice with the bounties
and the gifts and the favors of Allah
especially this religion is much better
than whatever we can accumulate from
this religion.
The prophetat wasallam
was pleased when he heard something
that was positive
and supportive.
Al- Mdad, may Allah be pleased with him
on the battle of Badr before the battle
of Badr when he was hesitant. The
prophetam when he saw a thousand fully
equipped
men coming to attack
them when they were only 300 plus men
with light weapons, swords and the likes
but no shields, no uh cavalry, no
nothing. So the prophet sallallam
consulted the companions wanting to know
that I took the pledge upon you that you
defend me if I'm in Medina. Now we're
out of Medina and we're faced with this
army. So you are
just and fair to say we did not give you
the pledge to fight with you out of
Medina.
So what should we do now? Al- Mdad stood
up and said, "Oh prophet of Allah, we
will not say to you like the Jews said
to Moses, go and your Lord and fight. We
were not going to come with we with you
and we will stay here." We will not say
that.
We're not Jews. We shall fight to your
right and to your left and from front of
you and from behind you. And the
prophet's face radiated sallallahu
alaihi wasallam and he was happy and
pleased with that.
The prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam
was also happy after a whole month
when people speculated and slandered
motherisha
that she committed adultery with
may Allah be pleased with him. For a
whole month there was no revelation from
the heavens and the prophet did not know
what to say and do and do. He loves his
wife and he does not suspect her but the
people are slandering her.
After a whole month when allahel
revealed her innocence in the Quran as
we recite in
he said to her with his face glowing
with joy
he said to her
allahel
had proven your innocence.
So the prophet is happy when such good
news come his way. Also he was happy
when allahel
asked the women the wives of the prophet
sallall alaihi wasallam to make a choice
to make a choice of what?
It was a there was a time when the wives
of the prophet wasallam complained of
the lack of money and they wanted
something
because the prophet sallallaihi wasallam
was living in a standard of life
that
mother Aisha says
two months would pass and we would not
light the fire in the prophet's houses
to cook. We would not cook for two
months in a row and we would just feed
on water and dates. So there came a time
when they complained.
So Allahel revealed the verses in surah
chapter 33
addressing the prophet sallallaihi
wasallam to give his wives a choice. If
they want this dunya,
then come and I shall divorce you and
set you free. But if you want Allah and
his messenger and the hereafter,
Allahawel has prepared for those among
you a great reward.
So he came to each one of his wives
giving them the choice.
choose this dunya or the hereafter and
whatever you do I'm going to give you
what you want. So she said, "Oh, prophet
of Allah, I choose you."
And he said, "Well, it's best that you
go and consult your parents first before
you make your choice." Said, "Do I
consult my parents in you, oh prophet of
Allah? By Allah, I choose allahel and
his messenger and the hereafter." And
the prophet wasallam was happy and
rejoiced because of her choice.
Sometimes the prophet was happy and we
can see that when
some of the mus the the people convert
and accept Islam as in the case of
and also in the case of
they were all dignitaries of their
people but when they accepted Islam then
he the prophet wasallam was rejoiced
with that
also. The prophet sallallahu alaihi
wasallam
was happy when the truth was revealed.
The people
accused
his
previously adopted son
known as may Allah be pleased with him.
The prophet in the beginning adopted him
and he was known to be Zimn Muhammad
until Allahel
abrogated adoption and pro prohibited
it. So he was called
after his own father and the prophet
loved him a lot. And when Zade married
Om the Abassinian,
Zade was as white as snow and Oman was a
black woman, an African woman.
When they got married, they were blessed
with a child and the and they named him
Usama
Zade.
See, Zade was as white as snow. Usama
was as black as night. So whenever they
walked together, people slandered
Usama.
And they said, "Oh, that he's not his
son. He was born out of wedlock. Maybe
his father is also black. He can't be
this black while his father is this
white."
And the prophet was saddened by such
allegations and rumors and whispers. Of
course, nobody stood up and said it
because that would be slandering.
Until one day,
Usama and his father Z were lying
together with a blanket covering all of
their bodies except their feet. So you
can see black feet next to white feet
until a tracker by the name of
desert and he's also an expert in the
lineage of people. He could tell that
this person is from this tribe and this
person is from the other tribe by just
looking at them.
When he came to the prophet's house and
he saw these feet, he said these feet
are from one another.
Meaning that they are father and son
though one is black and one is white.
The prophet rejoiced and was so happy
and he came and said, "Oh, didn't you
hear what
said?" And he told her about it which
proves what he had always said and that
he was born out of a marriage and that
this is his beloved previously adopted
son and he is the father of his beloved
uh uh Usama whom the prophet loved as
his grandson.
Likewise, when Tamim Daddy came, may
Allah be pleased with him, and told the
prophetam
about his tale, an endeavor that took
place with the antichrist with the dal
before he even knew about Islam.
And when he came to Medina and accepted
Islam, he told the prophetam
about his journey at sea and how they
lost their way and they went to an
island and he met the antichrist and
what prophecies he said. So the prophet
sallallaihi wasallam gathered the
Muslims in the masjid and climbed over
the pulpit with joy in his face and he
said to his companions
told me about what had happened to him
in the past and I was happy.
I was rejoicing with what I heard. So I
wanted to tell you about it and this
shows you that the prophet sallallaihi
wasallam rejoices himself.
In Islam we have the concept of sujud
prostration
of gratitude or thankfulness
and this is from the sunnah. Abu Bakr,
may Allah be pleased with him, reported
that the prophet sallallaihi wasallam
whenever he received good news that made
him happy or someone gave him the glad
tidings of something, he would fall and
prostrate to Allahawel in gratitude.
And this type of prostration is done for
something that is not happening
frequently.
So not every month when you receive your
paycheck, you do it. Not every time your
wife cooks a good meal, you do it.
Yes, maybe it's a once in a blue moon,
but still this is not the time for it.
It is when you hear that the Muslims
with the grace of allahel
overtook
a stolen city of theirs or won the war
with our enemies
or they were saved from famine or from
genocide. We prostrate because this is
good news and it takes place once every
blue moon when someone calls and says
that your uncle who was in ICU and he
was about to die and the doctors gave
up. Now, alhamdulillah he has recovered.
You prostrate. This is good news that
happens once every blue moon. Not like
the ignorant people who come and make
this every day after faj prayer after
they finish their before they leave the
masjid they do one s what is this he
says I want to show my gratitude to
Allah this is an innovation you are
sinful for what you're doing this is not
the way of the prophetatam
the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam
asked his companions to be happy. Kabib
Malik when he was boycotted and his two
friends for over 50 days for not
marching out with the prophet in the
battle of Tabuk sallallahu alaihi
wasallam and the prophet told the
Muslims to boycott him. When
the repentance of Allah was revealed in
the Quran
in chapter 9 surah tba the prophetat
wasam
summoned him and he came numik he said
the prophet's face was glowing with joy
and happiness and he said have the glad
tiding of the best day you've ever seen
since the day of your birth
and also the prophet sallall alaihi
wasallam would be happy when he calls
the people to give charity. And one of
the companions came with a big
load of clothes and food and placed it
in front of him. And when the companions
saw this, they all rushed and brought
their charities and they piled a big
pile in front of the prophetam. His face
was glowing because they responded and
they gave in charity.
He was also happy when he found out that
one of his companions understood and
learned and became a scholar as in the
case of the hadith when he asked.
May Allah be pleased with him. Oh, what
is the greatest ayah in the Quran? Ob
said Allah and his messenger know best.
So he repeated the question
then answered and said
the prophet was so happy and he could
see it in his face and he said to him
may the knowledge be a good tool for you
and you may you enjoy it oh abal.
All of this shows us that being happy to
rejoice to express that is a sunn of the
prophetam when related to things that
please Allah. But when we see the
happiness people do or have when they
rejoice with sins, with concerts, when
watching movies, in haram celebrations,
this is something that angers Allah and
one should avoid this if he believes in
Allah and the day of judgment.
