bergt this is an unusual citrus from
Southern Italy it's actually a cross
between a lemon and a bitter orange and
the skin is actually used to make Earl
Gray tea which has got that dark black
tea with that nice Citrus orangey flavor
to it and I did research on Burg uh uh
Earl Gray showing that uh the
combination had powerful cancer starving
effects so I'm actually going to try
this bergit to see what it tastes like
number two let me show you something
really unusual I found check this out
these are pink
strawberries pink strawberries check it
out
now here it is again really unusual so
it's just the opposite of what you think
normally you get uh red strawberries
with kind of like a little white uh seed
this is the white strawberry with the
pink
seed tastes really good really sweet
almost like a pineapple crossed with a
strawberry and in fact that's what they
call these Pineberries it's a hybrid
cross between different berries and what
I'm interested in doing is looking at
the elasic acid how much elasic acid is
found in these pink strawberries I'm
going to show it to you again cuz it's
so unusual found these at the market the
other
day all right my third food I'm going to
show with you
is sprouted pumpkin pum seeds now
pumpkin seeds are actually a traditional
uh food uh snack actually in Spain a
pizzas and these are sprouted and I'm
going to show you here's what they look
like going to try
one really good good source of dietary
fiber they've got polyunsaturated fatty
acids which is good for the
microbiome um so is the fiber but what's
really interesting is there was a study
done with almost 4,000 people showing
that um those people those women eating
pumpkin seeds actually had a lower risk
of breast cancer by about
34% so starting out the year the right
way with interesting foods that can
actually help your health Dr will Lee
