The noblest favor from Allah
is being in Islam.
The only true religion
in this universe.
Allah said:
“Indeed, the only religion
in the sight of Allah is Islam."
“And whoever desires other than Islam
as religion,
never will it be accepted from him
by Allah SWT.
And he, in the Hereafter,
will be among the losers."
The Apostle ﷺ said:
“He who hears about me,
but does not affirm his belief,
amongst the community of Jews
or Christians,
in that with which I have been sent
and he dies in this state (of disbelief),
he shall be but one of
the denizens of Hell-Fire.
Hadith narrated by
Al Imam Muslim in his Shahih book.
We see billions of people ...
... in this world.
Among them, many who
have not received the guidance.
They have not embraced Islam.
Many of them are atheist.
They do not believe in God.
Many of them worship creatures.
Some worship a Prophet,
others worship trees.
Some worship stones,
others worship animals.
Some worship the Sun.
With all these gods.
Allah SWT chose us ...
... to worship the Lord of the universe.
Allah SWT.
This is an extraordinary favor.
We should be grateful of this favor.
Guidance is Allah's
prerogative right.
Allah gives guidance
to whom He wills.
Allah keeps it
from whom He wills.
“Whoever Allah wants to guide,
He expands his chest
to [contain] Islam.”
“Whoever He wants to misguide,
Allah makes his chest tight
and constricted to embrace Islam.
And whoever Allah guides,
for him there is no misleader.”
Whoever Allah sends astray,
there is no guide for him.”
Guidance is not obtained
because one is intelligent.
If intelligence is directly proportional
to guidance,
then those intelligent people,
the Europeans,
the Japaneses
who are extremely smart,
surely they are privileged
to receive guidance.
But most of them
while having high IQ,
intelligence,
they worship the Sun,
they worship prophet,
they worship stones,
they worship statues.
And whoever Allah guides,
for him there is no misleader.
And whoever Allah sends astray,
there is no guide for him.
Although the gates towards
guidance are open,
if Allah does not give guidance,
he will not be able to embrace Islam.
Look at the hypocrites.
They lived with the Apostle ﷺ.
They understood Arabic.
They understood the content
of the Quran.
They prayed behind the Apostle ﷺ.
Sometimes they went into wars
with the Apostle ﷺ.
They saw the Apostle ﷺ’s miracles.
They attended ..
... the Messenger of Allah ﷺ’s preaches.
But they did not have the faith.
They did not have the faith.
Look at the Jewish.
They knew the truth
about the Apostle ﷺ.
“They know about the Apostle ﷺ,
as they know their own sons.”
It is the knowledge
that is very clear about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
But they do not have the faith.
For they hated
the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
Look at the Prophet Abraham AS.
He preached to his father
politely and with wisdom.
His father whom he loved most ...
... did not believe
in Allah SWT.
Look at the Prophet Noah AS.
He preached for 950 years.
Patiently, day and night.
He preached with all kinds of
methods and means.
But his wife did not have
the faith.
But his son died
not believing in Allah SWT.
Look at the Prophet Luth AS.
His wife did not believe
in Allah SWT.
Look at the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
He preached politely
to his kins.
To his uncles.
But Abu Lahab, the Prophet ﷺ's uncle
died not believing in Allah.
But Abu Tholib...
... whom the Prophet ﷺ really loved,
... who always defended
the Prophet ﷺ,
died not believing
in Allah SWT.
That the Prophet was sad
because his uncle ...
... died not believing
in Allah SWT.
The Apostle ﷺ said:
I will persistently beg pardon for you
till I am forbidden to do so (by God),
It was then that Allah
revealed this verse:
“Verily you cannot guide to the right path
whom you love, O Muhammad.”
Because guidance is not
in the hands of the Messengers.
“And it is Allah Who guides
whom He will.”
There are a lot of ways
to receive guidance.
But if Allah does not open one's heart
he shall not have the belief.
On the contrary, even though
evil is everywhere,
surrounding a person,
but if one wants to receive Allah's guidance,
Allah will give it to him.
Look at the Pharaoh's wife.
She lived in Pharaoh’s castle.
His husband ...
... did not want to follow
Allah SWT's commands,
a true disbeliever in this universe.
But the Pharaoh’s wife
embraced Islam.
She had faith in Allah SWT.
“And Allah presents an example of
those who believed: the wife of Pharaoh.”
She prayed to Allah SWT.
"My Lord, build for me near You
a house in Paradise.”
And she was the wife of Pharaoh.
And whoever wants
to be guided by Allah,
Allah will guide him.
We know now from this.
Ma’asyiral Muslimin.
That guidance is
an extraordinary favor.
That we should be grateful of.
It is purely from Allah SWT.
The Apostle ﷺ said when digging a trench,
during Khandaq War.
The Apostle ﷺ said ...
"By Allah, without Allah,
we would not have been guided,
neither would we have given in
charity,
nor would we have prayed.
The same thing goes for us.
“By Allah.”
If it is not for Allah
Guiding us,
We would not take our steps
to this mosque,
to do the Friday prayer.
Hopefully Allah SWT ...
... keeps on giving us
His guidance.
Until the day we meet Him
in the Hereafter.
Guidance is a favor
that we always have to remember.
So that we continue to be grateful
to Allah SWT.
Allah mentions in many verses about the favor
of being guided to His servants.
Even to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Allah SWT says.
“And He found you lost.”
“And guided [you].”
Allah SWT said:
And thus We have revealed to you
O Muhammad, Al Quran.
You did not know
what is the Book.
You did not know
O Muhammad, what faith is.
But We have made it
a light ...
by which We guide ...
... whom We will
with the Quran.”
Allah mentioned the favor
of being guided to the Prophet ﷺ.
“Rather, Allah has conferred favor
upon you,
that He has guided you
to the faith in Allah SWT.”
Hence, among ...
... the first phrases
of the people of Heaven ...
... when they enter the Heaven,
they say,
“When they enter the Heaven,
they say,
‘Praise to Allah,
who has guided us to this.
And we would never have been guided
if Allah had not guided us.’
So we shall be grateful
to Allah SWT.
Among billions of mankind ...
who are lost
for not being guided,
Allah choses us
to learn the beauty of Islam.
Hence, among the prayers ...
... taught in Islam ...
... to be said repeatedly ...
is
That is a very noble invocation.
It is obligatory for a Muslim,
in a day, at least
he recites this at least 17 times.
However, when one recites it,
he rarely contemplates
on its meaning.
And the meaning is so beautiful.
O Allah, give me guidance ...
... to the straight path.
Among the meaning ...
“O Allah, if I am still lost,
and sink in sins,
grant me a way to repent,
so that I can return to the right path."
"O Allah, if I am already
on the right path,
make me stay strong
on this path."
"O Allah, if I am already
on the right path,
open me other doors
of goodness I have not known of."
Especially today.
There are a lot of turbulences.
Lust, doubtful matters.
Many people speak
on religions.
Speak of goodness
or evil.
Many do not have
the religious foundation.
That they are easily influenced by
those misleading thoughts.
Hence, we need to invoke Allah
to keep guiding us ...
Moreover, the Prophet ﷺ
once said,
The Apostle ﷺ said,
"Be prompt in doing
good deeds,
before you are overtaken
by turbulence,
كَقِطَعِ اللَّيْلِ الْمُظْلِمِ which would be
like a part of the dark night.
It is that dark,
that people cannot diffentiate
between right and wrong.
The Prophet said
A man would be
a believer in the morning,
and turn to disbelief
in the evening.
A believer in the evening
and disbeliever in the morning.
And it is happening now.
Many open Internet.
Many read on atheism.
Many read on doubtful thoughts
of disbelievers.
And they doubt their religion.
And they believe in
other religions.
And they say that
all religions are the same.
Allah's religion is equal to shirk faith.
All the same.
Allah's worshipers, stone worshipers,
statue worshipers,
animal worshipers, all enter the Paradise.
He is not aware. He is a believer
in the morning, disbeliever in the evening.
Hopefully Allah SWT helps us
to keep our faith,
make us die as a believer
to Allah SWT.
