Assalaammu'alaikum warahmatullahi
wabarakatuh
On this occasion,
we will talk about ...
...a group of people who go to Paradise.
Because their hearts are like the hearts
of birds.
The Prophet ﷺ said from Abu Hurairah,
narrated by Al Imam Muslim ...
يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ أَقْوَامٌ
أَفْئِدَتُهُمْ مِثْلُ أَفْئِدَةِ الطَّيْرِ
There would enter Paradise people...
...whose hearts would be
like the heart of birds.
What's with bird's heart?
The scholars explained about this
hadith.
There are three interpretations
about the birds' heart.
The first one says that ...
They are said to have
a heart like a birds' heart ...
Because of their extraordinary resignation
to Allah SWT.
Look at the bird.
Birds don't have ...
... skills in finding sustenance.
Perhaps their ability is even limited.
They don't reason like humans.
But Allah provides them with sustenance.
They go in the morning on empty stomach.
They come home with full stomach,
with food for their children.
Some of us humans,
often when we seek sustenance,
we rely solely on our abilities.
Relying on our intelligence,
our experience.
Relying on our skill.
That we rely less
to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Intelligence, experience,
skills, are all causes.
When one looks for sustenance,
one shall rely on Allah SWT.
Like a bird.
Therefore...
... Ibn Rajab ibn Hambali said ...
... if someone takes
cause to seek sustenance ...
... and he relies on Allah
birds relies on Allah...
... then with a high resignation,
with a little cause ...
... Allah can provide him plenty of
sustenance.
Therefore, when someone
looks for sustenance ...
... he shall rely only to Allah SWT.
One shall do the cause.
But with faith that sustenance
is in the hands of Allah SWT.
This is the first interpretation what's
meant by "a heart like a bird's heart."
As for the second interpretation ...
Some scholars say that what meant
by the heart of a bird ...
... is that one has a soft heart.
Birds have soft and light,
heart.
They don't think too much
They are affectionate toward others.
Sometimes, one has a very soft heart ...
... that he is more affectionate
to a child than the mother of the child.
Sometimes he is so dear to
a friend rather than the friend himself.
People like this are said
to have a heart like a bird's heart.
Therefore, someone who has
heart like a bird's heart ...
... he is far from aggravation,
annoyance, envy.
He always thinks positively, kind-hearted
and affectionate toward others.
That person has a heart like a bird's
heart.
Subhanallah. Some go to Paradise
for his charity, for his night prayers.
Some go to Paradise
with his preachings.
Some go to Paradise because their heart
is like the heart of a bird.
His heart is soft, affectionate to others,
thinks positively of others.
He thinks positively of others,
far from aggravation, far from envy.
This special character, like a bird's heart,
makes one enter Paradise.
The third interpretation mentioned
by the scholars...
What is meant by a bird's heart ...
... like a bird's heart, that is ...
Birds are animals who are easily afraid.
When we approach them a little, they
will fly.
We move it a little, they move away.
The same thing with those who fear
Allah ...
He has always this fear of Allah.
Disobedience makes him fear
Allah SWT.
A little mistake he makes,
he is afraid of Allah SWT.
He does not underestimate his sins.
Unlike most humans.
They see immorality as nothing.
Making mistakes is considered nothing.
Someone who has a heart
like a bird's heart...
... always returns to Allah.
He fears Allah even though he makes
only a small mistake.
When he hears verses about
the Judgement Day, he fears Allah SWT.
He reads Allah's warnings.
In the Qur'an, the hadiths of the Prophet,
that his heart is softened.
He fears Allah SWT.
May Allah SWT grants
us ...
...hearts like a bird.
