There are four destinies.
The first is the divine destiny of mahfuz.
It writes everything.
This is the main database.
The Prophet ﷺ said ...
إن الله كتب مَقَادِيرَ الْخَلَائِقِ
أَنْ يَخْلُقَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ
بِخَمْسِينَ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ
"Verily Allah created ...
""Allah decreed the measures,
of all creatures ...
... fifty-thousand years before He created
the Heavens and the earth.". "
In another hadith the Prophet said:
اول ما خلق الله القلم
ثم قال له: اكتبْ
قال: مَاذَا أَكْتُبُ؟ قَالَ اكْتُبْ
مَقَادِيرَ الْخَلَائِقِ إلى يوم القيامة
The first thing Allah created
was the pen.
He said to it: Write.
It asked: What should I write?
"Write what was decreed about everything
till the Last Hour comes."
So it wrote what will be forever
at lauhil mahfuz.
The Prophet ﷺ said,
cرُفِعَتِ الأَقْلاَمُ وَجَفَّتِ الصُّحُفُ
"The pens have been lifted."
"And the pages have dried.
It will not change. "
It will never change.
However, no one knows
the contents of Lauhil Mahfuz.
Only Allah knows.
قل لا يعلمون ما في السماوات والأرض الغيب
الا الله
"None in the heavens and earth
knows the unseen, except Allah SWT.
Nobody knows including angels.
The Prophets did not know either.
Only Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
knows about it.
But Allah told
some of these destinies ...
... to the servants that Allah chose
among the angels and the Prophets.
That is the main destiny in Lauhil
Mahfuz.
The second is Taqdir Umri.
A person's age.
When one is still
in his mother's womb.
Then an angel comes after 4 months.
يرسل إليه الملك و يؤمر بأربع كلمات
Then there is sent to him the angel
who is commanded with four matters.
بقدر رزقه وأجله وعمله وشقى أم سعيدة
To write down his sustenance, his actions,
Paradise or Hell.
Those were written down by angels.
This is taqdir 'amri
related to that person.
It is related to each fetus.
His destiny until
he dies.
His destiny in the afterlife.
Third, there is annual destiny.
Allah informs this
to the angels...
... what will happen between
one night Laylat al-Qadr ...
... to the night of Laylat al-Qadar
the following year.
All data is taken from lauhil mahfuz.
Allah reveals some data.
Allah tells the angels ,.
That's called the annual destiny.
There is also called destiny yaumi,
daily destiny.
As Allah SWT said:
يسأله من في السماوات والأرض
كل يوم هو في شأن
Whoever is within the heavens and earth,
asks Him.
Every day, He is bringing about a
matter.
The scholars say that ...
Allah tells what happen
everyday to the angels.
Here are some forms of destiny.
Among annual destinies is what
Allah sends down every lailatul qadr.
It is called lailatul qadr...
... because at that night,
the annual destiny is sent down.
