السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
انالحمد لله نحمجه و نستعينه
و نستغفيره و نتوب اليه
ونعوذ بالله من شرور أنفسنا وسيئات أعمالنا
من يهده الله فلا مضيلله
و من يدهله فلا هديله
وَاشهد ان لا إلهَ إِلاَّ اللهُ
وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَريكَ لَهُ
وأشهد ان محمدا عبده و رسوله
لا نبيئ بعده
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا
اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِ
وَلا تَمُوتُنَّ
إِلا وَأَنْتُمْ مُسْلِمُون
فإن أصدق الحديث كتاب الله
وخير الهدي هدي محمد -صلى الله عليه وسلم
وشرَّ الأمورِ محدثاتُها
وكلَّ محدثةٍ بدعةٌ وكلَّ بدعةٍ ضلالةٌ
وكلَّ ضلالةٍ في النارِ
معشر المسلمين، أوصيكم
وإياي بتقوى الله فقد فاز المتقون
We never know
the end of our life.
This is the secret that Allah has written
in the Book lauhil mahfudz.
No one knows it.
Allah has affirmed it.
وَمَا تَدْرِي نَفْسٌ مَاذَا تَكْسِبُ غَدًا ۖ
وَمَا تَدْرِي نَفْسٌ بِأَيِّ أَرْضٍ تَمُوتُ
“No soul perceives
what it will earn tomorrow.”
“and no soul perceives
in what land it will die.”
He does not know where and how
he will die.
And the Apostle ﷺ said:
إِنَّمَا الأَعْمَالُ بِالْخَوَاتِيمِ
“Verily, the deeds are decided
by the last actions.”
Hence, how can one be proud
of his practices?
How can one be proud
with his acts of worship?
While in fact, he does not know
how he will end.
Will he die
in husnul khatimah state?
Good end. Will he die
in su'ul khatimah state?
And the Apostle ﷺ said:
إن أحدكم ليعمل بعمل أهل الجنة
حتى ما يكون بينه وبينها إلى ذراع،
فيسبق عليه الكتاب ،
فيعمل بعمل أهل النار فيدخلها،
Verily, one of you would perform
the actions of the dwellers of Jannah.
Until there is only one cubit
between him and it (Jannah).
When what is foreordained
would come to pass.
And he would perform the actions
of the inmates of Hell until he enter it.
And he dies
and he enters Hell.
This worries much the good people.
They never feel safe ...
... with their good practices.
Because they do not know
how they life would end.
Among things
that might avoid one ...
... from su'ul khatimah,
bad end,
Is to do good to people.
Al Imam Muthabrani in his book,
Al Mu’jamul Kabir,
Reported from Abu Umam Al Bahiri RA,
Saying that
the Apostle Muhammad ﷺ said:
صنائع المعروف تقي مصارع السوء
“Good deeds to other people ...”
“...protect from evil faith.”
This hadith is authentic
according to Albani, Rahimahullah ta’ala.
What does مصارع السوء
[mashara’ul su’] mean?
When the scholars explain
about “مصارع السوء”,
Evil faith, they refer
to two interpretations.
The first one is ...
Su'ul khatimah, to die in a condition
where one is doing a sinful act.
Not performing Allah’s command.
Violating Allah’s interdiction.
And then his soul is taken by Allah SWT.
أَعُوذُ باللَّهُ May Allah protect us.
Many people are like that.
While they are doing a sinful act,
violating Allah’s rules,
Allah takes his soul, without him
being aware. Suddenly, he’s gone.
The second one, what is meant
by "مصارع السوء"
Is to die in an unnatural way.
A horrible way.
The Apostle ﷺ asked protection
from that kind of death.
In a hadith, the Apostle ﷺ said:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَدْمِ
“O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee
from heavy things falling on me,
وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَالتَّرَدِّي
“I seek refuge in Thee
from falling into an abyss.”
وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَالغَرَقِ
I seek refuge in Thee from drowning.
وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَالغحَرِيقِ
“And I seek refuge in Thee
from burning.”
“From decrepitude.”
وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ يَتَخَبَّطَنِي الشَّيْطَانُ
عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ
“And I seek refuge in Thee
o Allah.”
“From the devil
harming me at the time of my death.”
وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَمُوتَ
فِي سَبِيلِكَ مُدْبِرًا
“And I seek refuge in Thee
o Allah.”
I seek refuge in Thee from dying
in Thy path while retreating.”
وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَمُوتَ لَدِيغًا
“And I seek refuge in Thee from death caused by
the sting of a poisonous creature.”
These are the things that the Apostle ﷺ
asked protection from.
The scholars said that these kinds of death
are not really good.
Even though among these kinds from which
the Prophet wanted to be kept away,
some are forms of shahid.
Such as being burned.
Drowned, falling.
Having heavy things falling
onto one’s self.
But people do not like to have this.
And even the Apostle asked protection
from these incidents.
They are different from being shahid.
One dreams to die shahid
in a battle.
They even look for a battle.
The second one.
It is possible that one
dies in those conditions.
Getting burnt, drowned, having heavy things
falling onto one’s self, and
Does not have the time to repent himself.
He does not have the time to write a will.
He does not have the time
to give direction (to those he leaves behind).
This is what is called by
“مصارع السوء"
Therefore, my Fellow Muslims,
may Allah SWT bless you.
If you want to avoid ending bad
with our life,
That is to die
su'ul khatimah, being sinful to Allah SWT.
Then, do more of "صنائع المعروف"
The Apostle said ﷺ,
صنائع المعروف تقي مصارع السوء
“Good deeds ...”
“...protect from evil faith.”
What does صنائع المعروف mean?
صنائع المعروف is
good deeds in general.
All kinds of good actions
to other, do them.
These were summarized by Khadijah RA.
When the Apostle ﷺ was terrified
to have bad things happen to him.
When the angel Gabriel AS came to him,
And the Apostle was terrified,
thinking that something bad was happening.
And Khadijah told him:
كَلاَّ أَبْشِرْ، فَوَاللَّهِ لاَ يُخْزِيكَ اللَّهُ أَبَدًا،ِ
“Never, my husband. Be cheerful.”
“Allah shall never
humiliate you.”
إِنَّكَ لَتَصِلُ الرَّحِمَ،
“You join ties of relationship.”
وَتَصْدُقُ الْحَدِيثَ،
“You speak the truth.”
وَتَحْمِلُ الْكَلَّ، وَتَكْسِبُ الْمَعْدُومَ
“You bear people's burden.”
“You help the destitute.”
“You entertain guests.”
وَتُعِينُ عَلَى نَوَائِبِ الْحَقّ
“And you help against the vicissitudes
which affect people.”
These are the main teachings of
صنائع المعروف.
If one does these deeds,
Allah will not humiliate him in the world,
and even more when he is dying.
He will not be humiliated by Allah SWT.
He will not die in مصارع السوء.
So, we shall try our best
to do good to others.
Do good with your smile.
Do good with your words.
وَقُولُوا لِلنَّاسِ حُسْنًا
“And speak to people
good [words].”
والكلمة الطيبة صدقة
Good words please people.
They do not hurt people,
nor insinuate bad things to them.
Those are charity. Doing goods.
Do good with your energy.
With your ideas.
Do good with your thoughts.
Do good with your property.
What with can do, do it soon
before death takes us away.
Whosoever does those things,
Allah will avoid him
from مصارع السوء.
From ending bad with his life.
أقول قولي هذاوأستغفر الله لي ولكم
ولسائر المسلمينمن كل ذنب وخطيئة
فأستغفره إنَّه هو الغفورٌ الرحيم
الحمد لله على إحسانه
والشكر له على توفيقه وامتنانه
وأشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وحده
لا شريك له تعظيما لشأنه
وأشهد أن محمدا عبده
ورسوله الداعي إلى رضوانه
اللهم صل عليه وعلى آله وأصحابه وإخوانه
معشر المسلمين،
As there are ways to avoid
ending bad with one's life,
there are ways toward it.
Among things that take people
toward ending bad with their life,
Is the opposite of this hadith.
In this hadith, the Apostle said
that good deeds take one to ...
... avoid ending badly with one's life.
And the opposite,
Doing bad things to others
will take one ending badly with his life.
So he has to be careful,
not to die in a condition ...
... where he does bad
to others.
If he does bad things to others,
he shall apologize to them soon.
Before Allah decides his faith,
Dying in bad end condition.
Therefore, we shall not
do bad to other people ...
... whether by taking away
their properties, hurting them physically.
And today, many people hurt others
by their tongue and writings.
Hurting people is not only
by taking away their properties.
It is not only by hurting them
physically.
Among things that hurt people is
to lower other people’s honor.
And the Apostle ﷺ said:
إِنَّ أَمْوَالَكُمْ
وَأَعْرَاضَكُمْ
عَلَيْكُمْ حَرَامٌ
"Verily دِمَاءَكُمْ, your blood,
your property, and your pride ...
"... are sacred among you
and shall not be violated.”
The Apostle did not only say
"دِمَاءَكُمْ وَ أَمْوَالَكُمْ"
Blood and wealth. He also said
"وَأَعْرَاضَكُمْ"
And your honor shall not be
violated among you.
In this era of social media,
we shall be careful in writing,
we shall be careful in analyzing things.
It is possible that his analysis
is full of lies.
It is possible that his analysis
incites hatred.
He is not aware that he makes thousand of
people irritated due to wrong analyis.
Built on data
that might not be correct.
And he might have incident
in the end of his life.
May Allah avoid us
from ending badly with our life.
May Allah grant us
with husnul khatimah.
إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلائِكَتَهُ
يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ
يا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا
صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا
اللهم صل على محمد وعلى آل محمد
كما صليت على إبراهيم
وعلى آل إبراهيم إنك حميد مجيد
وَبَارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ،
وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
كما,باركت على إبراهيم
وعلى آل إبراهيم إنك حميد مجيد
اللهم أغفر للمسلمين والمسلمات
و المؤمنين والمؤمنات
الأحياء منهم والأموات
انك سميع قريب ﺃﺟﻴﺐ ﺩﻋﻮﺓ
وياقضايا الحاجاتِ
اللهم آتِ نفوسنا تقواها
وزكِّها أنت خير من زكَّاها
أنت وليُّها ومولاه
رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنفُسَنَا
وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا
لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ
اللَّهمَّ اغفِرْ لنا ما قَدَّمنا
وما أَخَّرْنا ، وما أَسْرَرْنا
ومَا أعْلَنْا وما أَسْرفْنا
وما أَنتَ أَعْلمُ بِهِ مِنِّا
أَنْتَ الْمُقَدِّمُ وَأَنْتَ الْمُؤَخِّرُ
لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً
وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
وأقيموا الصلاة
