Among deeds that can help us to have
a castle built for us in Paradise...
... is by leaving a debate
even though we are right.
Even though we are right.
Also leaving jokes and lies, for Allah SWT.
And improving ourselves for Allah.
These three things.
Leaving a debate even though we are right,
lies even though we are joking...
...and improving ourselves...
These three matters are a series of things
that the Prophet said in one hadith.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
أَنَا زَعِيمٌ بِبَيْتٍ فِى ربضِ الْجنّة
لمنْ ترك الْمراء وإِنْ كان مُحِقًّا
"I guarantee a castle in the rim
of Paradise."
There is رَبَضِ [rim/surroundings],
وَسَطِ [middle], أَعْلَى [highest]
" guarantee a castle at the rim
of Paradise for one who gives up...
... arguing, even if he is right."
وَ أَنَا زَعِيمٌ بِبَيْتٍ
فِى وَسَطِ الْجَنَّةِ
لِمَنْ تَرَكَ الْكَذِبَ
وَإِنْ كَانَ مَازِحًا
"And I guarantee a house
in the middle of Paradise."
"For a man who avoids lying
even if he were joking."
وَ أَنَا زَعِيمٌ بِبَيْتٍ فِى أعْلى الْجنّة
لِمَنْ حَسَّنَ خُلُقَهُ
"And I guarantee a castle
in the upper part of Paradise...
...for a man who made his character good."
These three matters. The first one:
ترك الْمراء وإِنْ كان مُحِقًّا
Giving up arguing even if one is right.
Arguments that we always do
with our brothers.
Arguing with no benefits,
only for the sake of your ego.
We know that he is wrong, and we are right.
Leave it, no need to continue.
We are not doing arguments for sunnah
nor bi'dah, nor right, nor wrong.
It is only problems ...
... during a meeting, in an association,
in a foundation, in many places..
...where there is a risk to have
an argument...
...about wordly matter,
what is the use to pursue it?
We want to show that we are right.
He admits that he is wrong.
But then, we have problems.
What is the use?
Just to show him that we are right,
and he is wrong.
But afterward, our long-time brotherhood
will be cut and wil not come back.
Many people, just for the sake
of their ego...
... have their long-time brotherhood
cut loose.
Because of their ego.
Just remember this hadith.
Whosoever avoids arguing,
although he is right...
... will have a Paradise that Allah builds
for him at the rim of Paradise.
Remember, the castle is not empty.
The castle is not empty.
What is in it?
Beautiful women. How many?
Allah's secret.
What is sure is, Allah wills, many of them.
Just remember. Nothing will help us...
...to be strong leaving our ego behind
unless to remember that a reward is waiting.
We remember to have a castle,
so why arguing?
Just to have a recognition.
No money, only recognition.
We get nothing.
Second.
Not teling lies even though we are joking.
A lot of our brothers still do this.
I am reminding our brothers.
When we have our friend lying...
...even though he is joking, don't hesitate
to remind him gently.
My borthers, he is joking
but by telling lies.
So, we remind him, "Brother, don't do that.
That is a lie."
You cannot do that.
If you leave it, Allah will build you
a castle in the middle of Paradise.
So we shall train ourselves
for not telling lies in any condition.
Including when we are joking.
When we are joking.
If we leave it, we will have a castle
in the middle of Paradise.
The third one وَ أَنَا زَعِيمٌ بِبَيْتٍ
فِى أعْلى الْجنّة لِمَنْ حَسَّنَ خُلُقَهُ
"And I guarantee ...
... a castle in the upper part of Paradise
for a man who made his character good."
This is a very noble hadith.
Among many hadiths about the greatness
of good characters is this one.
That a person who tries to improve
his characters...
...for him a castle in the uppert part
of Paradise.
This tells us to look at ourselves.
We still have our bad character.
We have to scan ourselves well.
Most of us are able to scan others.
This guy is stingy.
This guy is snob, this one is like that.
This guy he looks at women.
We are able to scan other people.
But we are unable to scan ourselves.
While actually, we have to check ourselves.
General check-up.
What disease do we have?
We check our ears
What things that we often hear?
We check our eyes.
What things that we often see?
We check our tongue.
What things that we often say?
We check our heart.
Is there any arrogance?
Do we look down on people,
are we jealous, spiteful?
We check ourselves.
This is to improve ourselves.
When we check it well,
we know our minus.
So we try to add goodness.
Our effort to improve our characters...
...facilitate us to have a castle built
for us in the upper part of Paradise.
