From Jabar bin Abdillah
RA, the Prophet SAW said
‏من أكل ثومًا أو بصلا
فليعتزلنا أو فليعتزل مسجدنا
وَلْيَقْعُدْ فيِ بَيْتِهِ
Whoever eats garlic
or onion ...
... should keep away from us.
... or he should stay away from
our mosque.
And he should just sit in his house.
وَأُتِيَ بِقِدْرٍ
فِيْهِ خَضِرَاتٌ بُقُوْلِ
A pan was brought to the Prophet
SAW...
... a pan filled with vegetables, and
there were onions.
Then the Prophet found the smell of
onions.
فَسَأَلَ So the Prophet asked.
"What's in it?"
Reported to the Prophet.
فاخبر بما فيها من البقول
It was reported to the Prophet that
there was onion in the pan.
فقال
قريبها الى بَعْضِ اصحابي
"Take it to such and such companions."
فَلَمَّا رَآهُ كَرِهَ أَكْلَهَا
When he saw that there was onion
he did not eat it.
قَالَ ‏"‏ كُلْ
The Prophet told the companions
"You may eat it, but I will not."
فَإِنِّي أُنَاجِي مَنْ لاَ تُنَاجِي
For I converse with...
... one with whom you do not converse. "

the Messenger of Allah SAW said.
مَنْ أَكَلَ الثُّوْمَ وَالبَصَلُ

لِيَعْتَزِلْ مَسْجِدَنَا
"Let him not approach us in our mosques."
فَإِنّ الْمَلاَئِكَةَ تَتَأَذّى
مِمّا يَتَأَذّى مِنْهُ بَنُو آدَمَ
"for the angels are offended
by that which offends mankinds."
In another narration, which offends
children of Adam.
"The angels are offended
by that which offends children of Adam."
These hadiths shows...

are not allowed to enter the mosques.

The Prophet told his companions to eat,

people on your right and left side.

from Umar bin Khatab RA.
He said...
يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ تَأْكُلُ شَجَرَتَيْنِ
إِلاَّ خَبِيثَتَيْنِ لاَ أُرَاهُمَا
"O people, I see that you
eat two types of plants."
"What I saw from those plants is that
they are bad, and smell bad."
هَذَا الثُّومُ وَهَذَا الْبَصَلُ
"Eating garlic and onions."
وَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صلى
الله عليه وسلم
إِذَا وَجَدَ رِيحَهُمَا مِنَ الرَّجُلِ
أَمَرَ بِهِ
فاخْرَجَ إِلَى الْبَقِيعِ
"Truly I have seen the Messenger of
Allah SAW if he noticed...

be taken out from the mosque."
The Prophet ordered the man
to be taken out from the mosque.
To be taken out to Al-Baqi.
Umar said, فَمَنْ كَانَ آكِلَهَا
Whoever eats garlic and onion ...
فَلْيُمِتْهَا طَبْخًا
"Let him cook them
to eliminate the smell."

It won't matter.

mosque.

And if the Prophet found a person
like that, the Prophet asked him to go out.

"You are not allowed to go to the mosque."

There are people from many countries.

The Messenger of Allah ordered to cancel his prayer.

إِذَا حَضَرَ الْعَشَاءُ وَأُقِيمَتِ
الصَّلاَةُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ

Concentration is important.
Allah said:
"How lucky are those who believe.
Those who concentrate 'in their prayers."
Among those that disturb the concentration
of prayer is the smell.
Body odor, bad breath.
It disturbs the prayers,
and disturbs angels.
Angels are also disturbed.
The Prophet said ...
فَإِنَّ الْمَلاَئِكَةَ تَتَأَذَّى مِمَّا
يَتَأَذَّى مِنْهُ بَنُو آدَمَ
"The angels are harmed by the same things
as the children of Adam.
Likewise when eating pete ( a kind of strong smelling fruit).
Pete's smell is amazing.
It's delicious, but it smells.
It tastes heaven, but smells hell.
So, if anyone eats pete ...
... he should brush his teeth,
otherwise he smells really bad.
When we talk with a person who
eats pete, it smells so bad.
How about praying next to him?
It is a suffering.
If there is such a person near me,
I cancel my prayer.
I'd better pray elsewhere.

There is no use praying four rak'ahs,
but we cannot concentrate
Allah said, "Establish salat
to remember Me."
Instead of remembering Allah,
we are upset with this person.
But we dare not scold him.
It would be better to cancel the prayer.

he should not enter the mosque.

This is disturbing.
So, be careful, when we pray, turn our
cellphone immediately into silent mode.
Dont disturb others.
Because people are concentrating,
and suddenly there is the sound of music.
They will be unfocused and disturbed.
Their concentration is gone.
They are talking to Allah, but then gone.
Because of...
... annoying cellphone sounds.
Therefore before we pray, make sure
that our cellphone is on silent mode.
